Just Be Yourself!

My husband was once employed in the printing division
of a large manufacturing firm. One morning, word came
from the top that some visiting VIP's would be touring the
plant in just a few minutes.
All production was immediately shut down as employees
scrambled to quickly tidy up the work place.
When the appointed lookout yelled, "Here they come!"
fifty fingers that were poised over fifty machine start-up
buttons pressed down in unison and blew every fuse in
the building.
I remain continually amazed at how man likes to show
off. He is forever engaged in the game of "One Upmanship".
Is there any logical reason why he can't simply be himself,
without showing off or trying to make out he's better
than others?
Look at the condition in the joke. Sure they wanted to
make an impression. But why can't they do that by being
themselves. They could have organized the place,
cleaned the place, and still worked while visitors came
through. In the effort to really put on a show they literally
blew it.
And why should they create a scene that is unreal. Why
should they try to show off a condition that will not exist
past the instant the visitors leave? What do they get out
of it? Are they trying to show others how they take pride in
their work? Why don't they do that every day?
It comes down to that with each of us too. So often we try
to be who we aren't, all in an effort to show others we are
good, better, best.
Real people see real people. When a person is
knowledgeable about human nature and in themselves is
not trying to prove anything, they can spot a "show" every
time. The next time you are at a party or in any group, just
listen to the conversations. Watch how many people like
to be better than the other.
Now ask yourself: "Do I do that?" And wait for the honest
answer, not the one you want to hear.
Life gets better and one goes further when concentrating
on just being you.

Excel may create custom number formats without you realizing it.
When you use the Increase Decimal or Decrease Decimal button on
the Formatting toolbar, new number formats are created that
appear on the Number tab of the Format Cells dialog box. (To
access this dialog box, click Cells on the Format menu.) For
example, if you click the Increase Decimal button five times, the
following custom number formats are created:
0.0
0.000
0.0000
0.000000
A format string for two decimal places is not created because
that format string is built-in.

Body Parts: The Brain Some New Technology
For Understanding What
Actually Goes On In It
PART 1 of 6
I am always fascinated with the brain. I grew up closely
connected with one of the best research-oriented neurological
centers in the world. Then I did neurosurgical nursing followed
by operating room nursing with a focus on neurosurgery. The
brain is definitely the organ of the body which drives
everything. And I wanted to know all about it!
There is so much research going on now that I thought it was
interesting to give you an idea of one of the newer scanning
techniques that is now being used. In September of 2003, I wrote
an article on the brain and the spinal cord. That had more to do
with the anatomy and physiology of your brain. That knowledge
was available then...now there is so much more. And this
research is the entire basis for the anatomy and physiology that
eventually gets taught in schools. Scientists can tell you all
sorts of things as to how you think and what parts of your brain
are activated when you do a certain activity.
But now they can tell you that your thoughts are creating!!!
They can also tell you how you can generate more brain cells,
and how to make major changes to your life. There is so much
knowledge available now on how the brain interacts in your
everyday life. In fact, it can be shown how your brain leads you
in living your entire day! Nothing you do is an accident! There
is no hocus pocus involved. But the sad part is that few people
will realise it is just as real as listening to your heartbeat.
They feel if you can't see it or feel it, it can't be there. How
wrong and how sad!
What I wanted to show here was a tiny part of that research. It
is so interesting! Did you know that often scientific projects
are done in at least two different "labs"? If one university is
working on a project, the same project will usually be done
using the same guidelines in another. That is so that both
projects should end up with similar results. None of this
research can be done without some major (expensive)
equipment.

Where Miguele lived there was little evidence
of controlled or organized streets. They lived in
a small home with a surrounding land area of
treeless sandy soil. Over the years Miguele rigged
up a water system that allowed him to grow his own
trees, flowers and garden. He had fenced off his
yard area, or at least the yard area he claimed.
There was no such thing as title to land here. You
took what you could manage or wanted.
Yet there were no land disputes. People had to
work too hard in this land to earn themselves a
living. When they were finished that they only
wanted to rest. The people who lived in this land
were not an argumentative people anyway, so most
lived in peace with their neighbors.
Such was the condition into which Romano and
Oomano were planning to create their own home.
They had picked out a spot of land, treeless, that
both knew had water not far below surface. They
would tap into that water and use it to develop a
well treed yard in which their children could
play.
Oomano was planning on having three or four
children. She felt she was already expecting her
first one. She would know soon.
Everyday they walked over to the land they had
spotted. They would take a lunch and there they
would plan out what kind of a house they wanted,
where they wanted to place it, how may rooms they
wanted. They would plan where to have a garden and
what kind of landscaping they wanted.
They knew they could and would create it all
at once by means of higher law, but before they
did that they wanted to be together on their
planning. So they walked the land back and forth
for days discussing what they wanted here or what
they wanted there. At the end of a week they had
pretty much made up their minds.
Concentrating on each item at a time they
manifested their kitchen, their bedroom, the
meeting room, the bedrooms, two, for the kids.
They decorated the outside of the house. They
created paths to their "outhouse" and set up all
the other typical utilities they needed. They only
thing they did not get was electricity. They would
light their home by using higher law.
All other things they thought they best at
least appear as close to normal as they could to
avoid raising the suspicions of the neighbors.
Then they began to work on the outside
landscaping. They made water available in a well
over which they had a superstructure made from
brick. They installed a windlass to wind water up
with a bucket. Romano also created an underground
watering system with which he could water trees
and gardens.
The pair of them wanted grassy areas as well
as sandy areas for kids to play on and, they
wanted a lot of shade trees to keep the sun from
hitting people all day long. There would at least
be some shade for them to take refuge from the
sun. That got one out of the direct sun but the
breezes nonetheless were almost scorching. Romano
and Oomano knew they would take care of each days
climate as they needed.
The house was ready. They walked inside and
manifested what furniture they would need and
decided they would ask the folks and Riata over
for the first meal served in the new home.
Oomano busied herself with making supper while
she sent Romano to ask the folks and family to
supper. They accepted.
So the young couple set up housekeeping. It
was the first meal, the first night, the first day
at the new place. They enjoyed the comments about
their design and decorating.
Romano asked his brothers and sister if they
wanted to come and live with he and Oomano. They
declined. Because of living by higher law they no
longer needed the emotional support from Romano
they once needed, and they recognized the need for
the newlyweds to have their own space for a while
still. Besides, they were still working with Riata
on some higher law projects.
That was fine with Romano. He was happy to the
very core, that his brothers and sister were in
such good hands and themselves now were maturing
rapidly. It all seemed like a fairy tale ending.
A month passed. One night, while sitting alone
under the big shade tree in their back yard Oomano
told Romano she was expecting. He nearly went into
orbit, in a nice way. He was thrilled about having
a family. He kissed and hugged his bride, now
Mother, and danced with joy.
