RULE #1: SIZE
If I wanted to write all I could on this subject,
it most likely would not be delivered to some of
your boxes - because it would be way too long.
That's one filter. The size of the email. But in
my opinion, that's not a major one. This one we
all can easily work around.
YAY! That's one for us!
RULE #2: CAPS
Publishing in All CAPS is a huge no no. I see
some of you do it - ouch!
First, online etiquette says never type in all
caps. It's considered shouting and it's just
plain rude.
Second, filters will catch it. Two words in a
row is acceptable - three or more is not.
This is true even for subject lines.
I try hard to edit every ad I send you. I have
deleted many new subscription requests because
they have typed in all caps. But there are many
I will fix.
Summary: No more than two words in a row in ALL CAPS.
RULE #3: EXCESSIVE Exclamation marks
Don't you think one ! gets the point across? It's
like if we write in all caps and use lots of
exclamation points - people will act on what we
are offering/selling.
Well, the filters will grab this one, too.
Summary: No more than one exclamation point or even
question mark will suffice.
RULE #4: Trigger words (there are so many, I'm covering
only the biggest ones)
Know the biggest one?
'Free'
And we use it so often. Our subscribers use it in
their ads we publish for them. It's used in so many
forms.
'Click below'
HUGE one! But we use it. We have to use it in some
form to let the subscriber know they can unsub.
'Remove'
Don't say "click below to remove yourself."
Three trigger words in one sentence.
Money, rich, wealth ... all of them are trigger
words. How can we avoid them?
Well, we can become more clever. For example, state
"If you wish to not hear from me anymore, see at the
bottom how to leave us."
Obviously that is just an example. But you have
removed three trigger words.
Now we cannot avoid them - period. But if we watch
how many times we use them in an issue, it might
help us.
The biggest triggers are rules #1 - 3. If we can
avoid them, we should be ok with trigger words.
Remember, you can still accumulate points and
have your issues delivered.
Something I just learned today and frankly, I was
anticipating this.
When we all began worrying about filters, we all
became more clever with disguising words.
Honestly, when I saw this I thought these filters
are going to incorporate these new words we have
created.
And they have.
We disguise:
F^ree
S^pam
And we disguise them in many different forms.
From what I read today, these filter programs -
whether incorporated by our own ISP or the program
we have installed - will catch them and assume the
sender of that email is trying to be sneaky.

One very useful feature in Excel is its multilevel undo. This
means that you can reverse your recent actions, one step at a
time. For example, if you discover that you accidentally deleted
a range of data several minutes ago, you can use the undo feature
to "backtrack" through your actions until the deleted range
reappears.

A SPECT machine is similar to a X-ray Computed Tomography
(CT)scanner or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine. SPECT
stands for Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT).
Here are some sites I found in Google. When I did a basic search
for "SPECT", I simply chose some random sites related to my
needs.

This technology allows doctors to visualize functional
information about a patient's specific organ or body system.
Functional information is information BEIGN gathered as it is
happening. It shows the active interactions in minute detail.
But it is also done in an area which has never been accessible
before. Therefore it was the subject of a lot of supposition.
Now scientists can really see for themselves what is actually
happening! This is a huge discovery! Here is how it is done. A
special internal radiation dye is administered. This is known as
a "tracer". It can be injected, ingested, or inhaled. This
tracer dies and as it decays, it gives off chemicals called
"gamma rays". These (gamma) rays give us a picture of what's
happening inside the patient's body. This also requires another
special tool called a gamma ray camera. It allows two and
three-dimensional pictures to be seen. (These signals have been
explained to me as having some metal inside and Geiger counter
outside.) The signals are picked up and interpreted. The results
show how a body system or organ is functioning, at that precise
moment. What is amazing is the actual visible images that are
given to us as to what is happening in the neuron activities. (A
neuron is the basic unit of the nervous system.) We always
thought that as we grow older, we loose brain cells. In fact we
can continue to "grow them" if we know what we need to do.

Some major SPECT imaging applications include Heart Imaging,
Brain Imaging, Kidney/Renal Imaging, and Bone Scans. What I find
so fascinating about all this is that you CAN change if you have
the desire to do so. We now have clinical proof. When I first
nursed neurological patients, it was a hopeless challenge. With
a lot of brain tissue trauma, there wasn't much we could do
except to make people comfortable. I loved the nursing because
it was truly within our abilities to make a difference. Nursing
care was equally important as drugs to get the patient back
home, if they had any chance of doing that. Nowadays, there is
much more hope and through technology, we can catch problems
earlier. And with SPECT imaging the future looks really bright!
But look what is also now available!! Here is a headline from
one of the SPECT sites..."What Brain SPECT Imaging Can Tell
Clinicians and Patients That Cannot Be Obtained Through History,
Mental Status Examinations, Physical Examinations or
Neuropsychological Testing. Can you understand the significance
of this? The technology is here to help scientists and doctors
what no one can see or watch inside their brain!!!

Mae and Susan watched as the mother grabbed
her child. Fortunately, this close to shore, the
mother was able to stand. The water was up to her
shoulders, but she was on firm ground. She hoisted
her child up onto the flat platform of her boat
and then proceeded to climb on herself.
The water was dirty and all churned up at that
point in the river, and the mother was silt from
head to toe when she finally was back on board.
She disappeared into a little covering she had
over the center of her boat. Five minutes later
she emerged in clean, dry clothing and the rest of
her day went as if nothing had happened.
Walking through the marketplace, there on the
river bank was an unusual experience for Mae and
Sue. The continual din of noise that was set up by
the people doing business was almost a roar. The
sights, the colors, the odors were so numerous it
defied description. It was neither pleasant nor
unpleasant. The odors might be described as
pungent.
People were busy everywhere and, as you might
imagine, were all trying to get the best deal they
could. The conversations were loud as they
bartered back and forth, everyone walking away
thinking they had made a good deal. The days
passed quickly here because everyone was so busy.
This was not like a shopping center back home.
This was a concentrated hub of activity where the
traders would barter for raw or hand made goods
from the farmers and traders that came into the
city. From there the traders each had their own
channels for moving the goods into the city and
disbursing them. It was truly a sight to see.
There was constant movement. Not even a camera
could stop such movement but for an instant in
time.
Mae and Sue wanted to get a bite to eat. The
food was good in this land although much different
in the manner of presentation and appearance from
back home. They also ran into some things on menus
they had never seen nor thought of eating back
home, but, then they were visitors in a land they
knew not. The took bravery in eating things on the
basis that the locals all ate them and survived.
They had found a small sidewalk style eatery.
There were not the fancy go in and sit down at a
booth restaurants here they were used to back
home. However, if there was a free table for a
moment, they could sit and finish a meal while
watching the happenings in the marketplace. If no
table, then they would merely sit on the sidewalk
and eat right there as many did.
The pair of them were now beginning to fit
into the landscape not so much as tourists but as
those comfortable with their setting. The color of
their skin and their mannerisms continued to give
away the fact they were foreigners in this land,
but their mannerisms had slowly changed to be not
unlike those of the citizens of this land.
"What a sight" said Mae.
"Yea! Isn't it wonderful?"
"I guess the longer we stay here the more we
absorb the patterns, styles and customs. I find
myself feeling as if I belong here."
"You bet. I've not noticed any longing to get
back home. I'm beginning to act as if this is
home. What a wonderful trip. But for higher law we
would never have been able to make such a trip. I
love it" was Sue's reply.
They finished their meal, took up their staves
and began a slow walk through the marketplace
toward the city. They knew they had to proceed
north from here and that they would eventually
find a highway heading in that direction as they
moved through the city. Such well travelled
arteries were not hard to find. They simply "went
with the flow" so to speak.
This city was much like all others in China.
Everywhere they looked, after they left the
marketplace, they saw people busy going here and
there in pursuit of all the things they thought
important for the day. When in a city like this,
and observing as a detached observer, one could
easily compare all the human activity to that of
ants. Each knew where they were going. Each has a
job to do. Each moved as if on a mission. The
intermingling was easily compared to the ant.
The traffic was not so much motorized vehicles
as bicycles, ox pulled carts, hand pushed carts,
and many people or animals with goods on their
backs. There was a constant movement of rickshaws,
and motorized scooters all covered over to look
like cars.
There were not many foreigners in this city
that Mae and Susan could see. Every once in a
while they would get a glimpse of one but that was
rare.
They also noticed that not many walked with a
staff, as they did, only monks they saw from time
to time.
The day was coming to a close by the time they
had progressed a half dozen blocks from the
marketplace. The noise has subsided, or rather
been traded for the noise of movement of people
and traffic. It was quieter and the smells were
different, as were the sights.
