Bolt Uses Web to Reach Teens
Bolt is ranked as the No. 1 youth hangout on the Web
and reaches 3.5 million people each month (the site will
most likely have 10 million users registered this year). In
addition to these rocketing numbers, the company gathers
useful data, regarding teens, for their marketing partners
through tracking surveys covering travel to clothing to
politics. The company aims to stay ahead of the trend
and aid marketers in deciding what and how to sell to
teens using the Web, instead of traditional media.
Verizon Launches Internet Phone Service
Verizon Communications made waves in the growing
market of Internet phone calling, arriving Thursday as the
largest traditional phone company in the ranks. The
company introduced VoiceWing as a tool to entice new
customers and keep current broadband subscribers by
offering lower prices to their existing customers in addition
to slashing broadband rates. As the calls are sent via the
Net, an area unregulated by the government, plans tend
to be less expensive than traditional dial-up services.
Long distance and local calls are unlimited, making the
service an attractive option. However, in order to receive
the connection, customers must already have a broadband
connection in place or pay an additional fee. The initial
service plan is priced around $40.

Diagnostic Tests For Meniere's Symptoms
PART 4 of 5
Electronystagmography "ENG": is the record or a graph
showing eye movements. Electronystagmography records
and interprets or assesses movements in certain eye
muscles.
This test has to do with hearing and balance.
A test called "Caloric (pertaining to heat)
Stimulation" is performed to evaluate function of the
hearing nerve, which provides hearing and helps with
balance. The actual test wants to create a specific
response.
This test is done by putting warm air or water into the
ear canal and recording the eye movements through
special electrodes. The test can include either air or
water. And the temperature usually includes both warm
and cold water. If the vestibular (balance) part is
normal, the irrigation results WILL produce equal
values of jerky movements. If it is diseased, the
results will be fewer or reduced jerky movements. This
test may be recommended when the person is experiencing
dizziness or vertigo, when there is impaired hearing,
with suspected toxicity from certain antibiotics, with
some anemia, when psychological causes of vertigo are
suspected.
This test shouldcause nystagmus: jerky movements.
Your results: "She had an ENG and had a caloric
weakness of 71 % to the right and direction
preponderance of 43 % to the right." My thoughts: The
normal reaction should be strong, jerky movements. So a
weakness of 71% would mean that instead of the strong
jerky movements, your response was measured as a
weakness.
Visual tracking: (visual dysmetria testing) this tests
the ability of the eye to focus on a particular object
or a moving target.
Your results: "She had some abnormal tracking."

stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,

only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.

Walking in this tunnel of trees was much
cooler than if they were in full sun. They did not
have to alter the temperature surrounding them.
As they walked they still kicked up little
dust curls with their feet, so they could see well
why dust hung in the air.
They felt refreshed by the meal they just ate
and their walk was brisk. "Why are we in such a
hurry" asked Mae?
"I don't know. It just happened, sort of
automatically.
Slowing, they began to take a closer look at
the countryside, at the people and at all the
action around them. They found the walk enjoyable.
Nothing new there, of course, but slowing down
did permit them to observe more.
They paused, because they were picking up a
message from David, Mae's son. He was asking about
them. Mae invited them to come here to see them to
which David replied that was a good idea. Within
minutes David, Pam and the children were standing
in front of them.
"Ooh! It is so good to see you. Mae hugged
them all, but especially little Maz. He was well
able to walk with them now for he was about three.
Her granddaughter Mae Eloise was at the crawling
stage and cute as a button. Mae put down Maz and
took Mae Eloise.
Mae had not realized how much she had missed
her family, until now, when they were in her arms.
She had been going through a type of culture
shock, but was trying to deny it.
Susan was similarly pleased to see Mae's
family. While they were not her own, it did keep
her in touch with who she was, and she enjoyed
that.
As for David and Pamela, they, too, were
pleased to be with the ladies. "Do you know where
we are" asked David?
"I have a pretty good idea. You mean if you
produced a globe could I show you by putting my
finger on our location in earth?"
"I wasn't going to get quite that specific,
but I guess that's what I mean" said David.
"Well we started out in south China and our
direction has been basically north and a little
west. We are still in south China but I would
guess maybe 1200 miles north of the southern
coast. How's that?"
"I would say that's about right. So this is
China. How are you two enjoying your trip so far?"
"David, it has been wonderful" said Susan. "It
has shown us a lot, but mostly it has shown us
that all people are the same, all over the world.
They have cultural changes, religious differences
but they all have the same family concerns, needs,
desires."
"I'll bet! You found that a surprise?"
"No, David. We did not find that a surprise
but to know it intellectually and to know it as a
fact you have experienced are two different
things. We are really learning it here, first
hand" said Mae.
"Yes, I imagine you are. It's wonderful how
that feels so good to go through that. I nearly
forgot about that. Eloise and I went through that
when we first went on our journey. Pam took a
little while but it came on her gradually. We were
just speaking of that the other day. And where are
you going next?"
"David, we're just going where we are led. Our
continual direction is to the northwest, but our
daily journey is not so important. What do you
think of this tunnel of trees? We've been in it
for four hours and I don't yet see an end to it.
Isn't it beautiful?" Mae was still enthralled with
the view.
Taking little Maz's hand Mae began to walk as
they had been earlier. David, Pam, Susan came
along, keeping pace. All liked being together and
were in a fairly tight little group. They were
complete foreigners in this land and every time
they passed someone they were looked upon as such.
"I see the people here are all friendly."
"Yes, Pam, they are a wonderful people. They
are warm, courteous, humble and serving. It seems
to be in their upbringing. We have encountered no
trouble spots, except for when a mob comes
together demanding material goods. Then the people
are lost to the crowd mentality.
"That's the same all over the world. I don't
know what happens to people in a crowd. They panic
easily, they take on a hangman's mood easily, they
lose personal control. It's weird" answered Pam.

One day on his way to work, my husband stopped at the
cafeteria as it began to rain.
Forgetting that he hadn't brought an umbrella, he reached
for the nearest one when he got up to leave.
"That's my umbrella," a woman immediately scolded.
Abashed at his mistake, he walked on to his office. He
was drenched by the time he arrived.
Once there, he discovered three umbrellas that he had
left in the office
over the months, and he decided to bring them home
at the end of the day.
That afternoon he ran into the same woman who had
confronted him earlier.
She looked at the umbrellas, then at him, and tartly
