How to Master the Financial
Side of Your Business

I conducted a survey recently to determine the degree to
which small business owners have their cash flow under
control.
The survey results showed that only 20% of business owners
feel like they have the cash flow of their business under
control. That means 8 out of every 10 business owners are
trying to manage their business without having the financial
side of their business under control.
That's a recipe for disaster!
It's like riding along on the freeway in a driving rainstorm
and you discover that your windshield wipers won't work.
You can't see the cars in front of you or behind you. You
slow down to a crawl. You're just hoping and praying the
rain stops before you end up in a terrible accident.
In business, you need a clear view into the financial impact
of your business decisions so that you put the odds of
success in your favor. You have to take control of this
part of your business... or it will take control of you.
THE SMALL BUSINESS FINANCIAL DILEMMA
The results of the survey highlight what I call The Small
Business Financial Dilemma.
It works like this.
As a small business owner you wear lots of hats. You are in
charge of Marketing, Operations, Customer Service,
Accounting, Finance, Administration, Human Resources and
everything else that must be done to run a successful
business.
After a while, some of the work that needs to be done is put
off. Often times it's the accounting and financial
component of the business that is sacrificed.
A little time passes and you begin to notice you don't
really know what's going on with the cash balance. You may
be looking at financial statements, but you are confused
about what they are telling you about what's going on with
your cash balance.
THE RESULTING DILEMMA
Running a small business means you are always making
financial decisions and financial commitments. You are
making those financial commitments each day and in the back
of your mind you are asking yourself these questions:
"Can I really meet these financial commitments I'm making?"
"Am I going to have enough cash to run my business
properly?"
Slowly but surely, worry and uncertainty about your cash
begins to drag you down. You find yourself spending more
and more of your time fighting cash flow fires rather than
growing your business and taking care of customers.
THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM
The secret to taking control of your cash flow is to ask
yourself two simple questions.
- What is my cash balance right now?
- What do I expect my cash balance to be six months from
now?
If you CAN'T answer these two questions, then strap yourself
in for a wild ride. You are on a roller coaster ride that's
about to become really frightening.
On the other hand, when you CAN answer these two questions,
you have just regained control of the financial side of your
business. You will experience the almost magical feeling of
control that comes from mastering this critical part of your
business.
You will feel like I did back in 1991 when I first
discovered the secret to taking control of the cash flow of
any business. I was amazed how simple the solution was and
how it transformed the way I managed the business from that
point forward.
NEVER RUN OUT OF CASH
Remember, it's all about the cash. If the cash ever runs
out, then everything you worked so hard for goes right down
the toilet. That's why the financial side of business is so
crucial to your success.
Take the time to ask and answer the two critical cash flow
questions each month.
By taking control of your cash flow, you are putting the
odds of success in your favor. You are doing your part to
avoid becoming a small business failure statistic.
You are making sure you have the financial information you
need so you Never Run Out of Cash.

When you open the Start menu, you'll notice that the items
there have a built-in accelerator key. You don't see
anything, but if you press the first letter Programs, your
cursor will highlight the Programs item.
If there is more than one item that begins with the letter

A Quick Guide For Calcium Needs & Sources: Osteoporosis
prevention should start early. And men and women need the added
protection of calcium. Age/ Recommended Daily Intake
7 - 9/ 200 mgms.
10 -12 (girls) / 1200 1400 mgms
13 - 16 / 1200 1400 mgms
19 - 49 / 1000 mgms.
Men and women 50+: 1000- 1500 mgms.
CALCIUM: HOW TO TAKE IT FOR BEST ABSORPTION: Be Aware Of The
Difference
Calcium can be taken in one of several combinations. For most
benefit, you should read and follow the directions on the
bottle. (As you should for everything you eat.) Calcium should
be taken with Vitamin D for maximum absorption Be aware, too,
that taking calcium with meals can interfere with iron
absorption. As it is fine to take it outside of mealtime, this
should be considered.
CALCIUM CARBONATE: If your supplement contains calcium
carbonate, you should take it with meals. Calcium carbonate is
also more likely to cause constipation. Take multiple, small
doses for maximum effectiveness.

The group were talking amongst themselves as
night, and another storm, were approaching.
One of the people from the other side of the
road, whom David had helped, came over.
"M...may we join you this evening?"
"Most certainly. Bring all your people over
here, and your goods as well. One thing, though,
we had a wild cat staying here with us until the
lightning strike. He may come back. There is no
danger, but you should be aware the animal might
be back" answered David.
The man nodded his head and immediately went
back across the road to tell those who were with
him.
Five decided to cross the road, and were
picking up their goods. The sixth wasn't sure and
decided to stay there.
The five came across and put their goods down
in the dry area and began to settle in.
"Well, this trip has certainly given you
something to remember, hasn't it?
"You bet Susan" said Pam. "It will be a very
long while before I stop thinking about this. I
haven't heard such a loud noise, nor jumped so
high" she laughed.
"And you David, how are you with this
excitement?"
"I'm fine, thank you Susan, but you're right,
it will definitely be a trip I'll remember. I'll
bet the kids too, will remember all their lives.
That was some noise."
The night was darkening. In the distance there
was the roll of thunder. The person who remained
across the road had picked up his gear and was on
his way over to his friends in David's camp. The
thunder reminded him of what he had just been
through and he decided he wanted friends around.
David waited until he arrived and settled
down, then he walked over to the group. "Come join
us. We'll have a fire and enjoy your company.
Please come join us."
Each member of the small group looked at each
other, none wanting to commit. Then one, the
oldest one rose to follow David. The others soon
followed.
David made introductions all the way around.
The group were amazed for they had not given him
their names. They once more looked at each other.
They were entirely uncertain about being here.
"Fear not. We will not hurt you for if we even
thought about it the thought would come back and
hurt us badly. We offer you only love and ask
nothing from you. You are most welcome and we want
you to stay as long as you want."
Mae spoke, "We come from a far away land where
we learned to live by higher law. It enables us to
do things most people cannot, but it is completely
natural and the way our Maker, indeed your Maker
wants people to live."
"What is this magic you do?"
"It is not magic. You might want to call it
that but that is only because you do not
understand. Because you do not understand does not
make it bad, neither does it make it magic. It is
the most natural way in the world to live and each
of you can learn the way if you so choose" said
Mae.
"How we choose" asked the elder?
"You must first learn the law 'As ye sow, so
shall ye reap'. Every thought you have in your
mind will manifest or go toward manifesting a
condition you have been thinking about. Therefore
if you think evil toward any one or any thing that
evil will come back to harm you a hundredfold. If
you think only good thoughts and send out only
love then only those things will come back to
you."
"Further," said Susan, "you must commit that
thought unto the deepest part within you for it
will control the rest of your life."
"Next," spoke Mae, "you must learn to sit
still and go inside you to communicate with your
Maker. You must have no talking within your mind
as you do this, only seek and look. You must learn
to 'know' things rather than speak them in your
mind. Soon you will come to understand your Maker
and from then on you will progress rapidly to
become a master."
"You are saying as Buddha has taught, but no
one does this. How is it you are able to do this?"
"Only as you do what Buddha says shall you be
able to learn. But instead you worship Buddha as
you have been taught in your religion, still you do
not listen to Buddha. You listen only to your religious
teachers. You must decide who you shall follow,
your religious leaders or Buddha. The choice is
yours and no one else can make that
choice for you" said Mae.
"I will think on this" replied the elder.
"Many thank you's for saving us from that terrible
storm, and making us better."

It has become quite clear to me that no activity in which
man participates requires such dedication to one's goal,
such focus, such determination, as does the goal of
seeking political office. From my perspective as Campaign
Chairman for my friend I can tell you that any politician
who works even half as hard when in elected office as
he does in the race to become elected, will serve
you well.
It has been a very long time since I have been involved
with anything so exhausting, so demanding, so energy
draining. Any politician who wins the honest way will
have worked 18 hours a day for well past 30 days. He
will have a family who similarly has put in terrible hours,
and he/she will have built up a group of people who,
likewise, will have committed themselves to similar work.
You might have gleaned that I have found a whole
new side to the business of being a politician.
