TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------
How do hummingbirds fly backwards and upside down?
Is it possible to have a heart attack without any chest
pain?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Do moths actually eat clothes?
No. Moth damage in clothes is caused when the eggs of
moths hatch and the larvae begin feeding on clothes
(usually wool or fur). Moths themselves live for a very
short time and often don't eat anything in the adult
stage.
Why is the Sphinx moth called the hummingbird moth?
Sphinx moths are known as hummingbird moths for several
reasons. First, they are able to hover in front of
flowers and sip nectar. They also produce the humming
noise made by the tiny birds and have an extremely long
proboscis tongue. Their resemblance to the hummingbird
helps them avoid predators. Hummingbirds are fast and
too hard to catch and predators generally don't bother
them. By the way, a European species of this moth
(called the Death's Head Sphinx) played a role in the
book Silence of the Lambs.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------
There Is Always A Way!
An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade
his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only
son, who would have helped him, was in Prison. The old
man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his
predicament. Shortly, he received this reply, "For
HEAVEN'S SAKE Dad, don't dig up that garden, that's
where I buried the GUNS!
At 4 A.M. the next morning, a dozen police showed up
and dug up the entire garden, without finding any guns.
Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son
telling him what happened, and asking him what to do
next. His son's reply was:
"Now plant your potatoes, Dad. It's the best I could do
at this time."
Out of the ashes rose the Phoenix. From an impossible
situation a job was done. From being completely unable
to do anything he dug the garden.
How many times do we quite because we have come to the
"end of our rope" so to speak.
Somehow, someway, somewhere there is an answer to our
problem. Go deep inside and ask. Wait for the answer.
Oh! It may not come immediately but wait. It might pop
into your head when you are having lunch with someone.
It might come in a dream the next night or two or
three. It might come out of a child's mouth. It might
come when the boss is balling you out for a
misdemeanor. Who knows when it will come - BUT it will
come.
The difficulty most of us have is that we live so much
within our habit structure we cannot see beyond.
Sometimes we have to get out of the box to see what's
ahead.
That is true, also, of spiritual lessons. Living by
higher law requires that in the first instance you must
step outside "your box" and look at the possibility
that there are higher laws by which you may conduct
your life. From there the rest is simple. The first
step is just to see the possibility.
What would you do for your Dad in the situation above.
Do you know that ninety eight percent or greater would
have concluded they were in jail and therefore could do
nothing. What would you have done.
Most of us would have written a note to Dad saying "I'm
sorry Dad, I can't do anything. I really wish I could.
Maybe a neighbor could help. Call your brother's kids.
I'm sorry Dad."
The second step to creating success out of the
impossible is to believe it can be done. To adopt the
attitude there is nothing you cannot overcome and take
on everything as a challenge will always produce
success.
So, if you have faith in you ...
There Is Always A Way!

Anaphylaxis: A Medical Emergency
PART 2 of 11
Before we can go further you need to understand some
terms or phrases that are always related to
anaphylaxis. In order for you to see the bigger
picture, lets define your immune system, an allergy,
an allergic reaction, an allergen, an antigen, and an
antibody. They all sound very similar, and that is why
its so important to understand what each means. They
all come into play with this allergic condition.
Your immune system is your bodys natural protection:
its the overall defence mechanism. It reacts
automatically and it reacts because it doesnt like
things that are not natural to it. It works behind the
scenes all the time to keep you healthy. It allows
certain things, but reacts to others, sometimes
irrationally. If your body is healthy, it can
withstand many more intruders than an unhealthy body.
Its strong enough to handle these intruders. It
doesnt like them because they could harm you in many
ways, so it does its best to keep them out. The ones it
cant keep out, it reacts by trying to wash them out.
That is the inflammatory process at work.
Compare your immune system to a complex alarm system
with many sections in your home. It recognizes certain
people and allows them the freedom of the house. It
disallows other situations and sets off the alarm. But
please realize that your body is much more complicated
than your home alarm. This is a simplification for
illustration purposes only.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"You know, Alewka, I think that would be a
good idea. We are going to have company over
tonight and then tomorrow things will be busy. If
we got that done, you're right, it would be one
less thing to worry about. Would you two men
mind?"
"Certainly not, Mom." responded Tim.
Sam and Tim took the cake and disappeared,
saying they would be back soon. They instantly
were at the lake and placed the cake on the
kitchen table whereupon they returned. The entire
event took less than three minutes.
"Oh, you people! I can't understand how you do
that. Is my cake alright?"
"Certainly Harriett. You know we wouldn't harm
it." Same responded with calm authority.
"So what is next?" asked Bob Smithson.
"Tomorrow, Daddy, there will be many guests
arriving from all over the world. Some you know
and some you do not. They will mostly stay out at
the lake but some might come into town to see how
and where we live. Some may ask you to be their
guide. Would you do that? It might mean they bring
you here in an instant?"
"Ye...yes I will do that."
"Good, but the main thing that will happen
tomorrow is Sien will be here to conduct the
practice for the next day. Why don't you, Mom and
the boys come out to the lake early, like around
ten in the morning. Because people are coming from
all over the world they will be coming from
different time zones. I am sure the day will start
early. If you, the boys, or Mom want or need to
come back here to town all you need do is ask Tim
or me."
"We can do that, honey," replied Harriett.,
"then what?"
"I don't think we will be doing much but
sitting around visiting tomorrow. Then the wedding
will be the day after. Do all the folks you
invited know where the cabin is?"
"I'm pretty sure. We gave them all good
directions and a little map. I'm concerned we
asked too many people. It will cost a fortune to
feed all those people."
"No Harriett," said Alewka, "you know we can
manifest food, and further, we do not relate
anything to money. What we shall eat will be
because of the rules of our Maker. Fear not there
will far more than enough and each shall have what
they want. Please stop worrying over something
that is already looked after. All is well."
"Okay, Alewka, if you say so. I just think
there might be up to 300 people there."
"Good. I look forward to it."
"Do you have room for us to change into our
wedding clothes?"
"You bet. The cabin is big."
"What about the weather? What if it turns
foul? Have you room for everyone inside?"
Sam spoke up, "Harriett, Bob, the weather will
be one of the most wonderful days you can ever
imagine. It is pre-ordained."
"Can you control that too?"
"Yes, Bob."
"I don't mind telling you Sam, all this stuff
you do kinda scares me. If you have that much
control over things then that means you can
control each one of us."
"In a way, Bob, you're right, but why would we
want that responsibility?"
"What do you mean?" The word responsibility
threw Bob. He had been thinking that Sam or the
others could make him do exactly as they pleased.
"In order for us to do that we would then have
to be responsible for you thereafter. Why would we
want to do that. Living by higher law is about
freedom from bondage, Bob. We will do nothing that
will cause us to be bound, again, to the laws of
man. If you are thinking we could control you and
harm you then you do not understand higher law.
The great law is 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.' If
I were to do anything to harm you it would lead to
harming me. No, Bob, we have absolutely no
interest whatever in controlling people. That
seems to be the realm of man for it is only in
that world do people concern themselves about
control of their fellow man."
"Then how can people live without control? If
everyone lived by higher law who would lead,
control, govern?"
"Stop and think a minute, Bob. If everyone
lived by higher law and that would mean that
everyone would only be doing good for each other,
what need is there for the things you mention?
What would you have, Bob?"
"I ... I am not sure I know what you mean."
"Would that not mean that everyone was
returned unto the Godhead? That all would be doing
what their Maker wanted? Would that not be what
you conceive as heaven? The Garden of Eden?
Perfection? What need is there of government where
all want to serve each other and have the power to
manifest all they want?"
