TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

How many gypsies are currently living and where do they
live?

Did American settlers really pull wagon trains into circles
at night to protect against Indian attack?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

Where did the term "Gypsy" come from?

The English, who did not know where the Gypsies originated,
called them "Gypsies" as a shortened form of "Egyptians."
The Spanish referred to the same group as "Flemish," the
Swedes as "Tatars," and the French as "Bohemians."

What do Gypsies call themselves?

Gypsies call themselves "Rom," which means "man."

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------

I Love Oranges!

Among all the fruits and vegetables, oranges have to be my
favorite.

Every time I have one it generously offers me a drink that
refreshes, some pulp to chew on and a very valuable lesson
in life.

That's right, I bet you didn't know oranges could talk did
you?

Where I live we can only get the best oranges from January
to March each year. I live for that time of year and can
hardly wait for the first shipments to come in. The first
ones, of course are a touch green because of the rush to get
them to market, but as the season approaches the middle they
are truly a fantastic fruit.

"But, how do they talk?" you ask.

Well, you must learn how to listen.

Every orange tells me there is a time to sow and a time to
reap. It tells me that for all things there is a season. It
tells me that for all things in life there is a time and a
place.

Often, when we face the world, after putting in a long time
of effort and seeing no results we become tired. Go eat an
orange and listen to what it says.

Often, when discouraged, and it appears as if we will never
make it, go eat an orange.

When others are on your case because their expectations are
not yet met and they are impatient, go eat an orange.

It is an absolute truth that all seeds try to come forth
with their chosen plant. If you watch closely you will make
sure those seeds fall into fertile ground and not on rock,
but even on rock, if given a little moisture they will try.
So if your project is not yet bearing fruit, go eat an
orange. It may well be early in the season.

Too often we forget that natures time frame may not be your
time frame. Your anxieties are founded on your wishes and
desires, often not on natures reality. Go eat an orange. Let
it remind you of a time and a season for everything.

Remember, too, the best fruits are not the first fruits.
Often they are only the forerunners of much better things to
come. And so the phrase "Keep on keepin' on" is highly
appropriate in all projects. If we do the planting, the
nurturing, the weeding, the fruit will come. Never lose
sight of that reality.

Go eat an orange and listen well to all that it tells you.
While it is there, in your mouth, refreshing you, it is
telling you that you will be successful. Listen to it.

I Love Oranges!

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson

The Relationship of Oral Health to Overall
Health and Longevity
by Tom McGuire, D.D.S.
PART 6 of 31

Dental Disease and Its Effects on Overall Health
Because of its affect on the entire body, dental
disease can no longer be omitted from the subject of
health and longevity. Dental disease is not just a
minor ailment of the gums and teeth. It is a disease of
the body that happens to begin in the mouth. If left
unchecked, it can contribute to other more harmful
diseases that can seriously affect the quality of life
and actually shorten life expectancy. This means that
physicians must play a more active role in educating
their patients about the role dental disease plays in
their overall health and why they need to eliminate
dental disease and restore their mouths to a healthy
and functional state.

For example, recent scientific studies clearly
demonstrate the direct and harmful role gum disease
plays in many serious and life-threatening diseases.
For example, moderate-to-severe gum disease can:

• Increase the risk of heart attack by as much as 25%;
• Increase the risk of stroke by a factor of 10;
• Increase the severity of diabetes;
• Contribute to low pre-term birth weights;
• Contribute to respiratory disease;
• Interfere with proper digestion;
• Play a role in osteoporosis;
• Severely stress the immune system;
• Lower resistance to other infections; and
• Actually reduce life expectancy.

But because of its damaging effect on the immune system
it can also contribute, make worse, or trigger many
diseases and health issues, including such idiopathic
(medical term applied to diseases of unknown cause)
diseases as Meniere’s, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFIDS)
and fibromyalgia.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------

"We have, Mary, we have." David spoke quietly,
calmly, matter of factly. But when he made this
statement he made sure the thought sunk deep into
Brock's and Mary's heads. He didn't want them to
forget the idea.

"Where is Pam?" Mary was inquisitive.

"Over talking with the Smithsons I think."
David looked around while he was talking. "Oh,
there she is. She is on her way over now."

"Hi Honey." David said as Pam walked up to the
three of them.

Hi, you guys. How are you two doing? I haven't
seen you for a long time. How's the family?"

"We're fine, Pam. David was just filling us in
on how you and the kids are doing. I was telling
him I just don't understand how you can leave all
this and go to live in the middle of that jungle.
You have nothing, Pam."

"That might be what you think, Mary. We don't
measure our life in dollars and cents or the
things dollars can buy. We have all we need and
more. Plus, anytime we want to have what you have
we can simply move up here and manifest it. We
don't do that because we don't want the bondage of
it."

"What do you mean, bondage?"

"Do you have mortgage payments, maintenance
work, landscaping? Do you not have all the latest
and greatest in electronic things and other things
just for your entertainment? Do you not compare
yourself, always, to others in town, and strive to
keep your position within the town hierarchy? Do
you not become angry when you can't have the
latest and greatest? That's what I call bondage.
Where we live there is none of that, yet we can
have it all and more. We have found something far
more important than material goods. We have found
life."

"What's wrong with having a nice house? What's
wrong with being proud of who you are and what
you've accomplished? What's wrong with having all
the cars, boats, cabins or other material goods?"
Mary, just as she had when Eloise and Mazunta had
visited, had now become defensive about her way of
life, thinking, of course, that it was not only
perfectly normal but the right way.

"Not a thing, Mary." Pam spoke in a calm
manner. "Yet you fail to recognize how it keeps
you in bondage and you fail to see the real
value of life. You would fall apart if someone
took all those material goods away from you. You
would miss out on the essence of life being
miserable only because you have no material goods.
It might be an idea you should think about, Mary."
Pam made sure those thoughts went right to the
core of Mary Hamilton and her husband, Brock
Stanley.

In other circumstances Mary would have been
upset and angry. She would have terminated this
conversation and stomped away in a huff. She was
now and would ordinarily take this as an attack on
who and what she was, on her thinking. Yet the
love being broadcast by both David and Pam kept
her there and kept her quiet.

"Aren't you coming on just a little strong
there, Pam?"

"Am I? Why didn't you change your name to
Stanley when you married Brock as custom is?
Weren't you trying to make a statement? Trying to
stand out in a crowd? Trying to be noticed? And
today, using the name Hamilton, don't you stick
your nose up in the air just a little, attempting
to show others you are better than they are? Do
you know how offensive you are in your
presentation to others just on that point of
stuffiness and arrogance alone? I think, Mary, I
have hit the nail right on the head. No, I don't
think I'm coming on strong. I think maybe you have
been getting away with crap all you life merely
because other, wiser, people refrain from telling
you who you are. They just don't want to create a
scene. Furthermore, Mary. I speak with nothing but
love for you. Life, from here on out, will likely
become miserable for you. Sooner or later people
will begin to walk away from you and when you no
longer can serve their needs they will vanish from
your life, leaving you completely alone. Humility,
wisdom and true, genuine service, without any
thought of return, would serve you much better
than your haughty, nose in the air arrogance.
Think on that, Mary."

Again, it was only the love Pam and David
broadcast that kept Mary there. No one, not even
her parents had ever spoken to her this way. Deep
in her heart Mary knew Pam was right. She didn't
ever admit it but deep within her Mary's
conscience was saying "Mary, pay attention."

"Mary, I mean no harm, but rather love. I mean
only to point your ship in a direction that will
serve you better and keep you out of storms you
don't want."

THINK ABOUT THIS TODAY!

“The real tragedy is the tragedy of the man who never

who never stretches to his full capacity, never stands

HA! HA! HA!

Steve and Harold were business partners who competed hard in
every aspect of their lives; especially golf. Long ago they
agreed that the only way they could play 18 holes together
without killing each other was to never say a word.

And so it had been for 15 holes. The sixteenth hole proved a
disaster for Harold after he found his approach shot just
off the green.

First, he lofted a 9-iron from one side over the green to
the other. Then he repeated it again, and again. Several
times, Steve cleared his throat as if to speak, but thought
better of it. When he did it a third time, Harold stopped,
turned around, and glared at his partner.

"I thought we had an agreement," blasted Harold, "not to say
anything on the golf course."

"I know, Harry," replied Steve, "but I just wanted to say
one thing."

"Yea, what was it?"

"You've been hitting my ball!"
