At Least He Tried!
While attending a marriage seminar on communication,
Rick and his wife Cherie listened to the instructor declare,
"It is essential that husbands and wives know the things
that are important to each other."
He addressed the man, "Can you describe your wife's
favorite flower?"
Rick leaned over, touched Cherie's arm gently and
whispered, "Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"
Well, at least he was trying. I'm not so sure I wouldn't
have said the same.
Yet, I bet Rick knew the instructor was speaking about a
flower and not flour.
I know it is just a joke, yet, like all jokes it contains whisps
of truth we should look at.
The joke points out that we should maintain a genuine
interest in those with whom we deal. Yes it says those
closest to us, but why just those?
Our growth and development in any income producing
venture is markedly advanced in direct proportion to the
amount we are genuinely interested in those with whom
we deal, so there is a measurable financial
advantage too.
Besides the finances there is the popularity side of the
equation where we are always popular in direct
proportion to how we care about others.
So what I am saying is clearly something that offers us
rewards, from many sides. The joke is making the point
of being sincerely caring about those who are close. I
am saying spread that caring around.
One thing you might want to consider, though, is the
matter of self discipline. While it usually takes hardly
any time to stop and help, there will be many demands
on the time of those who care about others. Learn what
is important and what is not.
For example you will find those coming to you for things
they should be doing themselves. Teach them how to do
that task and you will not be bothered with it again. Do
the task and they will always be on your case.
I dare say nothing in life will bring you the rewards, the
popularity and the growth and development you want,
so much as the genuine interest in others. People crave
attention and acceptance. Give it to them.

In utero, or in the womb, during the nine months or so that
you were developing your body systems, all waste products
were eliminated through your mother. Once you were born
(released) into the outside world, your body immediately
changed and you were “cut free” from this “family waste
management system”…and forced onto your own private one. All
I am trying to say here is that waste has always been and
will always continue to be a vital part of your health. And
it needs to be understood. It is as natural then. It is so
now. But mostly likely you weren’t even aware of its
existence until you ran into an unhealthy result. So why
now? What detoxification now? Research has shown that you
live in an environment that is rapidly changing. But until
now, it hasn’t really affected you and your world.
But now it has impacted your life. And your mind is now
encouraging you to gather information to help you regain
control or regain your health. Obviously, somehow an
exchange has to be made. Somehow the unwanted or suspected
elements need to be removed from your body and replaced by
something that will work better for you. Something that will
support your metabolism.
Health allows all your body systems to function in harmony.
Is it possible to stop this unwanted negative progression or
action from continuing relentlessly? This is called
degeneration and I believe it is possible. Here is the AMA

Things are really heating up in the European Union. They,
long ago, issued orders to Microsoft about breaching the
bloc's antitrust rules.
In March 2004 the European Commission said the software
giant was abusing its dominant position of its Windows
operating system and ordered it to give information to
rivals so they could create software that runs smoothly with
Windows.
Today the EU courts ruled Microsoft has not complied and
they are now subject to fine up to 2 Million Euros a day,
(that's 2.56 million US dollars).
All I can say is it is a good thing Microsoft has deep
pockets. They're going to need them.
In other news I see there are major cracks in a new dam in
Brazil. If the reservoir has not been emptied properly this
dam would have created all sorts of death and destruction.
I see the employer of choice for computer engineering and IT
grads is Apple.
Saddam Hussein has condemned the trial that is trying him
for war crimes, and science has extracted DNA from a 43,000
year old Siberian mammoth.
Typical day, right folks? And here is where the rubber hits
the road - Japan said Monday it was considering whether a
pre-emptive strike on the North's missile bases would
violate its constitution, signaling a hardening stance ahead
of a possible U.N. Security Council vote on Tokyo's proposal
for sanctions against the regime.
Japan has not had any military position since the second
world war. Yet it is so worried over that "loose cannon" in
North Korea it is seriously considering mobilizing its
military for a pre-emptive strike. I take that as being more
than just serious folks. Things are happening here and I am
of the opinion that if a pre-emptive strike does not occur
we will see nuclear warheads coming out of North Korea atop
the rockets they are purportedly "testing".
The woes and foibles of man's world persist, don't they?

O.K.: Where did we get the expression "O.K."?
From the Presidential election of 1840. The Democratic
candidate, Martin Van Buren, was nicknamed "The Wizard of
Kinderhook" - after "Old Kinderhook", the Hudson Valley
village in which he had been born. In reference to this
village and Van Buren's nickname one of the Democratic
groups formed to support him in New York City called itself
"The Democratic O.K. Club." Other supporters of Van Buren in
New York picked up the term "O.K." as a sort of slogan, and
Democratic rowdies used it as their war cry in their
attempts to break up meetings of Whigs. the phrase caught on
generally and soon established itself as synonymous with the
feeling of the original club members that they and their
candidates were "all right."

Devil In The Church
One Sunday morning, everyone in one bright, beautiful, tiny
town got up early and went to the local church.
Before the services started, the townspeople were sitting in
their pews and talking about their lives, their families,
etc. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church.
Everyone started screaming and running for the front
entrance, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get
away from evil incarnate.
Soon everyone was evacuated from the church, except for one
elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew, not moving...
seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy
was in his presence. Now this confused Satan a bit, so he
walked up to the man and said, "Don't you know who I am?"
The man replied, "Yep, sure do."
Satan asked, "Aren't you afraid of me?"
"Nope, sure ain't," said the man.
Satan was a little perturbed at this and queried, "Why
aren't you afraid of me?"
