What female pharaoh of Egypt dressed like a man
and wore a beard?
What is a doppelganger?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Was Cleopatra as beautiful as portrayed in film?
Probably not. The image that survives of Cleopatra,
a depiction of her visage on a coin, shows a woman
with a hooked nose.
Is there only one Egyptian queen called Cleopatra?
Actually, there were seven. The one we think of when
we say "Cleopatra" is Cleopatra VII, one of the
Ptolemys, a family from Macedonia that ruled Egypt
for two and a half centuries.

All Jobs Suck - Sometimes!
by Ken Darby
A police recruit was asked during the exam,
"What would you do if you had to arrest your
own mother?"
He said, "Call for backup."
Wow! I guess he knows her better than anyone.
The joke points out, however, that all jobs have parts
of them that are unsavory, distasteful and sometimes
downright dirty. Every job has some parts to it we
don't like.
When we are young our reaction is often to say "Take
this job and shove it!" At an early age we are just
arrogant enough to think we don't have to do this stuff.
Thank goodness for time. Eventually the message gets
through. Yes we have to do this stuff. What makes us
think that life is a "bed of roses" all the way through?
It is a hard lesson to learn, but necessary. No one can
come into a situation and be the boss right away. It takes
experience, knowledge.
By the way, you know all the perks a boss gets, like
being out on the golf course? What makes you think he
isn't working, or worrying, or planning, or negotiating.
Do you think he is just having fun?
And what about the times he has to call someone into
his office and fire them, knowing that person has a wife
and kids to support? Do you think the boss likes that? Or
what about the times when the bank calls his loan and
he has to scurry around entering greater risk, just to
keep you employed?
You see? All jobs have their times of unpleasantness.
All jobs suck at some point. That's why if you work your
very best, to build a sense of pride in your work, to
overcome problems before they arise, makes your job
less and less distasteful.
One thing you might want to know if you are thinking of
leaving your job to start something where you are the
boss. You cannot lead, if you cannot follow.

THE ROLE OF MULTIVITAMINS
IN DEGENERATIVE CONDITIONS
by Karin Henderson
PART 5 of 10
Send a blank email -
mailto:multivitamins@rr-email.com
(Two studies by AMA)
HEART DISEASE can take one of two "paths". The
problem can be in the heart muscle itself or as part
of the circulatory system of the heart.
The purpose of the heart is simply to move blood around
the body, carrying a large variety of nutrients and other
"products", but also to "feed" itself. This happens not
once in a while, but all the time
24/7/52.
Let's use the analogy of a rail system. The heart is the
originating station and the cars are the white and red
blood cells, and fluids. The tracks are the blood vessels.
These tracks are in a tunnel and space is limited: not
expandable.
The problem can be in the station which is getting old
and run down and bursting at the seams. Its very
inefficiency slows everything down (Ageing). It might
also have some broken pipes or blocked toilets, causing
inside damage, but it can still run fairly well. The rail
cars are carrying valuable products, including nutrients
and oxygen. But the work must go on; in fact there is an
increase in the workload (Hypertension). So there is a
greater need for the cars to bring their goods, but
because the tracks are also getting narrowed from
overuse, falling debris and stuff left on the tracks from
passing cars, (Arteriosclerosis), and lack of care and
maintenance, the tunnels are getting narrower
(Coronary artery disease).

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

----------------------------------------
Mae and Susan could see that while the day was
hot, now, it was setting up for a heavy rain. The
clouds were moving in and it appeared as if it was
going to be one of those long gray spells where it
might rain or it might just look like it was going
to.
That didn't bother them for they knew they could
set up an "area" around them that would always be
dry.
They had been up and walking now for near two
hours, seeing hardly anyone on the road. They had
slept, as usual on the ground, invisible, safe,
warm, dry and comfortable.
They were settling into the rhythm of the land and
the days. Rising at nearly first light, they would
walk for most of the day, taking in all the
sights, talking with people as they came upon
them, and stopping for the night at or just around
the supper hour.
They would eat, then simply sit and talk, while
watching what was moving down the road they were
near.
They had no idea, map wise, where they were. Yet
they were so interested in this land they did not
care. They simply wanted their general direction
to be toward Tibet in north west China.
"You know, we've been at this now for two weeks. I
would have thought I would be missing my home, by
now, but I'm not. I find myself very interested in
each day. I find myself feeling much healthier and
better. I find no pull back toward home. That's
interesting." said Susan.
"Susan, what we are doing here is interesting.
Even though we are walking, and every day seems
the same, it is not. Not only are we changing the
scenery all the time, and the weather changing all
the time, the people changing all the time, we are
changing all the time. You and I are no longer the
ones who began this journey. We are becoming like
the people of this land, albeit we live by higher
law." remarked Mae.
Just as they had thought. There was a loud crack
of thunder and the rains began to come down. It
came down fast and heavy. Within minutes the road
was quagmire. With the dust and dirt being so fine
it turned the roads to grease. People could not
even walk properly their footsteps sliding all
over. Those that were on the road headed for the
sides, to sit under trees, and whatever they could
find to put over their heads.
Mae and Susan simply set up their "dry zone" and
continued. The "dry zone" meant that not only did
they stay dry, but as they walked the road
surrounding them also was dry, so their progress
was unimpeded.
That was fine for the girls, but some cause for
consternation for those sitting at the side of the
road, watching them pass.
They came across a woman who had two children, one
of them a baby she was trying to feed, the other
just a toddler. She also had a heavy load of wares
she was taking to a market to sell, and a pig that
was trying to get away. The woman was having
trouble keeping the small group together and
everyone was soaking wet. It made the condition
somewhat miserable, yet she was not feeling sorry
for herself. She accepted the condition as it was
and dealt with it.
Mae and Susan admired her attitude. The woman was
so busy keeping everything together she never
noticed Mae and Susan approach.
She was surprised when suddenly she and her group
were dry, clean and out of the rain. She looked up
and saw the two women. She bowed immediately as if
the two were holy women.
"Rise. You have no need to bow to us. We too would
be wet if it were not for living by higher law.
You shall spend the rest of your days dry, clean,
well fed and well able to look after your children
and family. How is it you are alone?" asked Mae.
"My name is Shing Li. My husband is dead. He was
killed in an accident two years ago. We have been
poor since then. These are the last of my goods I
am taking to market so we can eat. After that I do
not know what I can do. I may have to sell myself
like other women do just to survive. I do not want
to do that, but my children must have food." she
said.
