source so you can go read it yourself. The following is a
direct excerpt from eMarketer Daily. You can read it at

Users can't rely on government or legal measures to stop the
flood of unwanted messages into their e-mail boxes.
MX Logic sells e-mail security and protection systems, so
it is not an unbiased source of anti-spam information.
Nevertheless, as anyone who receives e-mail knows, the
Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography
and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act, which went into effect
on January 1, 2004, has done little to stop the proliferation
of obnoxious, unsolicited e-mail.
According to a survey conducted by MX Logic, compliance
was only at 3% of total spam the company reviewed in
April -- but it dropped to a mere 1% of spam messages
in May.
Spammers are thumbing their noses at the regulations,
for the most part, ignoring them completely. Ninty-nine out
of every one hundred commercial e-mails don't follow even
the minimal standards required by CAN-SPAM, which are:
* "From" line must clearly identify the sender
* "Subject" must be consistent with message content
* Advertiser's valid postal address must be displayed in
body of message
* A working opt-out mechanism must be included
"The decrease in CAN-SPAM compliance to 1% indicates
that legislation is only one weapon in the anti-spam
arsenal" said Scott Chasin, MX Logic CTO. "Fighting
spam is an enormous challenge -- one that requires a
multi-pronged solution." He suggested, of course, the
deployment of e-mail defense technology, but also
industry cooperation and strengthening SMTP
authentication protocol.
In an unexpected sidebar, the survey found that one in
six pornographic spam e-mails complied with the new
Federal Trade Commission (FTC) ruling, which went
into effect May 19, requiring unsolicited e-mail with
sexually oriented content to bear the label
"SEXUALLY-EXPLICIT:" in the subject line.
One-in-six is not great compliance, but, ironically, porn
is closer to adhering to anti-spam measures that other
commercial spammers, who are only at
one-in-one-hundred.

CREATE A STARTUP DISK
When you first set up your computer, you were probably
prompted at some point to create a "Windows Startup Disk.
"The Startup Disk will let you start your computer--even
when windows won't run--so you can run diagnostics to find
down a problem.
You'll need one blank diskette. Click the Start button,
go to Settings, Control Panel, and then double-click
Add/Remove Programs. Click the Startup Disk tab and
insert the diskette into the drive. Click Create Disk
and follow the prompts. When complete, remove the
diskette, label it clearly ("Windows Startup Disk") and,
be sure and store it someplace safe.

Blood, Its Circulation And Its Pressure

Did you know you can stop and check your blood pressure when you
shop for groceries? You may not want to, but the opportunity is
available in stores that provide pharmacies. And why would you
want to do that? Why should you be interested in something
called " blood pressure"? Or "the pressure of blood"??? I
receive emails from many people for a variety of reasons. In the
course of a conversation, I may ask what their blood pressure
is. I will get answers like "it's fine", or "it's perfect" or
"the doctor says it's excellent". Few people can give me actual
numbers. Later when you might suspect something is not quite
right, you have nothing to compare it to. You need to know and
understand the actual readings: the upper (systolic) reading and
the lower (diastolic) one.
As always, with these articles, please don't use them to
diagnose or treat yourself. Use the information to educate
yourself. If you recognize something familiar, please have it
checked out by a qualified health care provider. More knowledge
will help you ask better questions.
So let's explore what blood is, how it gets moved around your
body, and how blood pressure relates to it. I'll share the
importance of your blood's "mission" and "function" in your
body.
But before we get too far, we need to understand some medical
terms. It will help you see why you need to know something more
than just being told "it's perfect". (I'll also tell you why
your blood doesn't stay in your legs forever if you stand a
lot.) We'll explore the blood's different ingredients and why
they are needed...and how to have them ready in your body. You
may have decided it's time to take control of your health. Blood
is the major body "ingredient" that keeps you alive.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

As with all groups of people there were those who
saw, those who thought Mae and Sue were rude, and
those who wanted them to give unto them, who
became angry when Mae and Sue did not.
Mae noted who those were for she knew there would
be some trouble from them.
Shing Li asked, "Why do you shoo the people away
when they just want to be near you?"
"They want to be near us, Shing Li, because they
want us to give them life ever after. They want us
to give them riches, thinking they will not have
to work. They are misguided on these points, even
as you were. It will take time to show them the
right way, and, if they show signs we shall do
just that. Yet some among them want only for us to
give. They have no intention of learning the way
but are selfish and think only of themselves."
said Susan.
"Yes there are some in the village who think like
this. They take wherever they can and they will
not share. Some were here this morning in that
group." she said/
"We know. There will be some trouble from those.
We can handle it but there will be some trouble.
You may want to tell the village elders, or better
yet invite the village elders here for a meal and
we will talk." suggested Mae.
All three of them thought that a good idea. Shing
Li went into the village and spoke, individually,
with each village elder.
When she came back she told Mae and Sue the
village elders thanked them for the invite but
they wanted to meet and decide first.
That is what the girls expected.
A couple hours later, near midday, there was a
group of five men who approached the little house.
These were the village elders.
Shing Li bowed to each of them and invited them to
come sit on the porch.
The eldest among them looked directly into Mae's
eyes. "We are not sure what this is about and we
come with reservation. We see no need to call a
meeting just because you are guests in this
village." he said.
"You are quite right. If we were ordinary guests.
This morning, even before we rose from our sleep
there were many people here, sick people, infirm.
They each wanted to be made whole again. We caused
that condition to happen and they are now well.
They went into the village and told everyone. Soon
there was a group, a crowd, of people up here all
looking for miracles. They want us to give them
money, clothing, food, wealth. We told them to
leave, that should they come to depend upon us we
will have to leave. If they chose to let us walk
among them we will work with them. Most thought
that was rude. Some were angry for they thought we
could get them anything. Ours is not to doll out
miracles. Ours is to teach you how to do this
yourself. We come not to give life but to destroy
it, that you might take on a new life, the life
your Maker wants you to live. Yet we will not
force this upon anyone. Each must make a choice to
accept it and work with it. In all things we do
not want to work contrary to the will of the
village as expressed by you, whom we respect."
said Mae.
The elders immediately went into consultation.
What did this visitor mean by wanting to destroy
life. This thought was frightening.
"Think not we are come to take life. We come in
peace and in love. The thoughts you are discussing
are only part of what I said. Do you want me to
repeat what I said, that you might understand it?"
Mae communicated to each of the elders in their
minds. She spoke no words.
The oldest turned and asked Mae to repeat what she
had said.
"We come not to give life but to destroy it, that
you might take on a new life, the life your Maker
wants you to live. Yet we will not force this upon
anyone. Each must make a choice to accept it and
work with it. In all things we do not want to work
contrary to the will of the village as expressed
by you, whom we respect." said Mae, "Is that clear
or would you prefer I explain."
"That is clear." said the elder.
