King Louis XIV, who ruled in the seventeenth century,
made neckwear fashionable. It's said that he first fell
in love with the idea when he saw Croatian mercenaries
wearing scarves as part of their uniforms. Soon, he and
his court were wearing Croatian scarves as well. Even
if you don't like ties, you might think that they were a
good idea THEN. Before the king made the scarves
popular, the guys were wearing lace ruffs.
Is it true that neckties have been linked to blindness?
Recent research published in the British Journal of
Ophthalmology does, in fact, link TIGHTLY-KNOTTED
neckties to an increased risk of glaucoma, an eye condition
that can lead to blindness. According to the researchers,
ties that are knotted around the neck too tightly, especially
on men with thick necks, can put too much pressure on the
jugular veins, which run though the neck. Fluid from the
eyes drains into the jugular veins. Constricting the veins
blocks the flow of eye fluid, raising pressure in the eyes.
So wear neckties if you want, but wear them loosely!

Buying Drugs Over The Internet

I have watched, almost in horror, how the growth of
internet drug sites have grown and are now nearly as
bad for spamming as the "personal enhancement"
spamming has been.
The things that really concern me are two points. First,
it is clearly a lucrative field, and so is filled with those
whose only interests are to make money, knowing or
not knowing the potential harm they could be creating.
Second, the old advertising rule still prevails; the more
often a person sees such ads the more they become
slowly convinced that "everybody is doing it."
We have yet to learn the lesson that what we put into
our bodies is what we are. Phony in - phony be.
Today our hospitals are filled with people who suffer
from all manner of diseases caused by what we ingest.
That includes cancer, heart problems, stroke, and the
entire plethora of maladies causing mankind grief. Much
of it is caused by the chemicals in the food chain. We
are getting enough chemicals without taking it in
concentrated form.
The real problem with buying drugs over the internet is
there is no control over usage. Any doctor will tell you
that one of their biggest concerns is the idiotic philosophy
and phenomena that if one aspirin will help the
headache, five will help it more.
That "mindset" is far more widespread than anyone
realizes and, itself, is cause of many problems including
many drug deaths, for which the medical community
gets blamed.
Buying drugs over the internet goes beyond foolish.
Taking any chemical into the body is not a good idea.
Being able to get the medications these internet sites
are selling, being able to get and consume these "body
enhancers", without some form or manner of control will
ultimately lead to the death of many.
I ask you, what kind of a society have we become? What
kind of people are we that "body enhancers" and ready
access to a multitude of harmful medications seems to
have found a foothold in our culture?
I, for one, do not and will not take any of these offerings.
I don't even want such when prescribed by a doctor.
I offer a word of caution - - - don't go

Blood, Its Circulation And Its Pressure

When blood shows up in unusual places something is wrong and
needs to be investigated. Because it circulates all through your
body, any abnormality or infection can easily be carried along
with it. Blood without boundaries is simply fluid. It needs to
be contained in some form and sent all over your body,
systematically and consistently. This means a network of
passageways. This network is called the circulatory system. It
provides the means for the blood's "mission" to be fulfilled.
All this starts at birth and ends in death. There is no normal
part of you that is without a blood supply, but there may be
some areas after a trauma that won't receive any "service". No
blood: no life. But that doesn't mean all of you dies. It may
mean just a part does. Your body is very organized and in order
to maintain balance, it will "borrow" from one cell to another.
(Balance/ homeostasis)
Just as you don't carry clean and dirty laundry together, blood
doesn't get carried in the same vessels. There are two "one way"
passages: arteries and veins. Just like a river or a tunnel,
something has to allow the entire set of ingredients to reach
the end of the line, intact. A healthy passageway or "lumen" is
clean, smooth and has no debris attached to it anywhere along
the walls. The fluid is propelled along without any
interruptions or blockages. The walls are elastic and move in a
rhythmic pattern, consistently.
Arteries, veins, and the circulatory system are the
transportation corridor or system that blood circulates through.
"Arterial" blood is blood that has just been cleaned and is full
of good things such as these nutrients, chemicals, and oxygen.
(Transported by the arteries) comes from the lungs, with a fresh
load of oxygen, and stops along the way to pick up chemicals and
nutrients. These nine "body" systems are all served or connected
to this lifeline. The arteries get smaller and smaller as they
branch out more and more to cover the entire body. Eventually
they drop their life-giving load to the tiniest cell.
In the individual cells, the oxygen and the nutrients and
chemicals are dropped off. A return network (venous
circulation: oxygen removed) will pick up the waste products
that are created through "metabolism". It is a much more relaxed
or passive system and needs the help of valves to keep the blood
from flowing back to the extremities. That's why the blood
doesn't stay in your feet if you stand up a lot...or pool in
your backside if you sit a lot.)
Metabolism encompasses all the physical and chemical processes
within the body that create and use energy, such as digesting
food and nutrients, eliminating waste, breathing, circulating
blood, temperature regulation.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

Mae and Susan rose early, not from any
disturbance, but just because they were rested.
Looking out over the rice paddies, in the dim
light of a morning that was just beginning to see
light, they could see no one out working. As best
they could, looking up the valley, they could see
no activities except the occassional animal.
The sun was not yet up, indeed there was hardly
any light. The day was just dawning.
The pair of them went out and sat on the porch. It
was already warm, as was the pattern in south
central China.
They chatted away for a while, just visiting and
enjoying each other's company.
"Mae, I can hardly believe I am here, in China,
with you, doing the kind of thing we are doing. I
had never considered I would live by higher law,
nor would I have ever thought it would be such a
joy. My life couldn't be better. I don't even want
to go back home, and that's something different
for me." said Sue.
"It is no less exciting for me, Sue. I've watched
Eloise, Mazunta, Boolanga and my son David for
well over a year now, and I was always glad they
knew and lived by higher law, but it never
occurred to me I, too, would learn. I am so
thankful, I thank my Maker every day." said Mae.
"Me too. I sure hope Shing Li will learn. She
could do much for this village, much like Sonora
does for her little village in Africa." said Sue.
"Oh, I think Shing Li will come. She certainly
appears to be interested. We must make sure the
seeds of knowledge don't fall on shallow earth,
germinate, then die before they are able to come
to complete blossoming." answered Mae.
"I know. She seems excited, but that will only
last a short while. She must make the decision to
commit for the rest of her natural life. I will
talk with her about that." said Sue.
"Good, and I will watch and see how she reacts. I
wonder if others in this village are eligible
candidates? Little do they know they choose
themselves. They think, as all men, that they must
be chosen by someone outside themselves, yet it is
they who choose." said Mae.
They heard a noise from inside the house. Shing Li
had awakened and came out, on her way to morning
bathroom chores.
"Oh! What are you two doing up so early?" she
asked when she saw, in surprise, her guests
sitting on the porch this early, early morning.
"You go on and do what you got up for. We'll be
here when you return." said Susan.
Upon Shing Li's return, she was rubbing sleep out
of her eyes as she came up the steps. She banged
her shin on a step and now was really awake.
"Ouch!" she stumbled up the rest of the steps.
"To answer your question Shing Li, we got up early
because we were fully rested. This is a beautiful
part of the day. Go back to sleep if you like,
we're just fine." said Mae, thinking Shing Li felt
a responsibility to be up with her guests.
"That is what I was going to do, but banging my
shin on that step made me fully awake. I like this
time of the day, too. It seems peaceful, a time of
God. Sometimes we get evenings like this, but
mostly in the mornings." said Shing Li.
"Shing Li?" Susan asked, beginning to see what
Shing Li's motive was for wanting to learn higher
law, "Why do you want to learn higher law?"
Shing Li paused for quite some time. Susan was
beginning to think she had not heard the question,
or was not going to answer.
Finally Shing Li spoke.
