The Life Force!
Where I live we have a time of year now where I see all
around me baby elk, buffalo, calves, horses. I see
goslings, ducklings and baby birds of all sorts.
I see trees and flowers coming back from their dormant
period. All things are animated.
I see young mothers with babies taking walks, pushing
strollers. The ice has melted on the lake and it is
alive and teeming with life.
All things near me are animated.
The life force is all around and will be recognized.
It is interesting mankind does not understand it. If
you asked the question you would find only a few souls
in the entire earth who could give you an answer that
was truth.
We gird ourselves with training and education, puff
ourselves up and say "I know". We hide our inadequcies
in pomp and pageantry and for a miniscule amount of
time within eternity tell those around us "this is the
way" when we, ourselves cannot answer the question.
The life force that animates the trees, the forest, the
animals, the birds and all of life also animates you
and I.
Yet man, with all his ignorance, is the only creature
of the creator capable of understanding and knowing
this life force. Man alone can learn the higher
spiritual laws and become a benefactor for man on
earth.
I know that sounds lofty. Yet is that not the message
of Buddha, Mohammed, Jesus and others?
What do you think all the self- improvement books are
about? They are after you to learn the laws so you can
live the life your Maker wants for you. They hide the
message under the guise of showing you how to become
rich. In the old days they hid the same message in
books on alchemy, showing you how to turn lead into
gold.
The writers, to a man, know your heart will only go
where your treasure is and it is abundantly clear men's
treasure is in their wallets. It has long been hoped
that some may see.
So stop and consider THE LIFE FORCE!

A Few Thoughts To Share On Hormones
And Their Actions

Your body is always trying to rebalance itself. In
order to handle an extra "sugar" load, it needs to
produce more insulin. There are two (amongst many)
challenges here. One involves the continual production
of the body's adequate supply of insulin. At some point
it can't do it any longer. Or the production is very
slow and you end up with excess sugar in the blood
stream. That leads to the next problem. Research is now
showing that this excess is causing oxidative stress
and irritation of the blood vessel walls. That is not
healthy. Insulin lowers blood sugar. It is essentially
your "storage hormone" as it drives the extra sugar
into the cell to be utilized or stored as fat. It is
this storage load that the glucagon will use when your
blood sugar is too low.
If your blood glucose levels rise for a prolonged
period of time, kidney failure, blindness, and
hardening of the arteries can result. This is
hyperglycemia. If one’s blood sugar drops to very low
levels, coma, seizure, or even death may occur.
Therefore, our bodies have this very sophisticated
hormonal system that is continuously working to
maintain blood sugar levels between 80 mg/dL and 180
mg/dL.

"You made up your mind yet?" Darryl Sr. asked.
"Wha ... what do you mean?"
"You think your Mom and I are crazy. You think
we have done something awful to hurt you. You
think your whole life is going to change because
we made this decision. You are all concerned that
your girlfriend will no longer like you, that you
will have no money and have actually thought about
ways you could get back at us to hurt us."
"Wha ... what do you mean. I didn't think all
that."
"Darryl, I know what all your thinking has
been for the last two days. There is no need to
lie to me for I know what has gone through your
mind. You have grown to be a selfish, self
centered individual who cares about nothing or no
one but himself. I am ashamed of your thinking and
the way in which you have grown to conduct
yourself."
"I don't know what you mean."
"Yes you do. You know full well that the
minute you stop spending my money on that woman
you are seeing, then she will leave you. You
haven't said one thing about your Mother and I
except that somehow you have misinterpreted the
idea that it means harm to you. You best learn
right soon that the only one who can harm you in
this is you. It will be the course of action you
choose that will show you the fool or the man. No
one ever said life was a bowl of roses. No one
ever said life wasn't hard sometimes. No one ever
said you would have your way all your life. Maybe
now is the time for you to have a look at some
good hard lessons."
"Dad, why did you do this? What motivated you
to go and be like the Henrys. You know their
reputation. You know people think they are crazy.
Why?"
"The Henrys are friends. They have helped us
during that terrible explosion downtown, and they
have helped many people in this town. They are
also friends, as are we, with the Strikers and
with the Whites, all of whom have chosen the same
path. The Henrys have already done more for this
town that you will likely ever be able. Yet you
say they are charlatans? I think you fail to do
your own looking and see only what others tell you
to see. Pretty shallow don't you think?"
"Dad, people say they are of the devil. They
are not Christian, that they do things against the
church."
"I think the church can pretty much destroy
itself without the Henrys being involved. If you
have spent no time learning what it is the Henrys,
or now your Mother and I, do, then how is it you
can pronounce judgment upon them?"
"What do you mean?"
"Here you are pronouncing judgment upon us.
You think we are bad, worse, of the devil. Yet you
know absolutely nothing about what we do. Why
don't you first find out what we do before you say
we are bad? What causes you, with all your worldly
experience, the right or the knowledge to
pronounce judgment on us? Do you not know the law
that 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.'? Do you not
know you pronounce judgment upon yourself, not
us?"
"I just calls it like I sees it."
"Darryl. You are 22 years of age. You have
virtually no experience along these lines and yet
you profess to sit in judgment. Do they not teach
you anything in that university? Do they not teach
you to think, analyse, decipher?"
"Certainly they do. That is why I think about
what you and Mom have done as being bad. I have
looked at it and I don't like it."
"Why don't you have a long look at your own
motivation to decide why it is that you don't like
what we have done. It might show you some things."
"But I have. What am I going to do for money
now? You said we are all on our own. What am I
going to do for money?"
"Ever heard of getting a job?"
"Oh sure, with my full slate of studies!"
"Your sisters, each of them, worked through
high school and through university. It's about
time you did a little work don't you think?"
"Yeah but they didn't have the work load I
have."
"Darryl each of your sisters had a work load
that is twice what yours is. I've seen your
schedule and the class load you have. You're just
playing at this university thing as if it is a
game. That is part of our decision. We will pay
your tuition, books, room and board. Anything else
you want will now have to come from your own
initiative. And you had better make it an honest
job."

An atheist professor was teaching a college class and
he told the class that he was going to prove that there
was no God. He said, "God if you are real, then I want
you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15
minutes!"
Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying,
"Here I am God, I'm still waiting." He got down to the
last couple of minutes and a big 240-pound football
player happened to walk by the door and heard what the
professor said. The football player walked into the
classroom and in the last minute, hit the professor
full force, sending him flying off the platform.
The professor got up, obviously shaken, and said,
"Where did you come from, and why did you do that?"
The football player replied, "God was busy; He sent
me!"
