What bird may build a nest weighing up to two tons?
Do fathers-to-be experience hormone changes during
their wife's pregnancy?

ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
What bird has been observed plucking hairs from
sleeping dogs to use in nest building?
The chipping sparrow. Nicknamed the "hairbird," this
tiny bird likes to use horse hair and other kinds of
animal hair to make its nest warm and cozy.
What male bird will build SEVERAL nests so that its
mate can pick the one she likes best?
The house wren. Male house wrens will often build more
than one nest so the female house wren can choose her
favorite. That's fortunate, because the male house wren
can be pretty bad at choosing locations. They have been
known to build in mailboxes and even inside the pockets
of clothes hanging outside to dry!

The Longer I Stand Here
The Behinder I Get!
Do you ever have days like that? You know, where you
look at your workload at the end of your day or week
and find there is more work there that when you
started?
You can accept that condition in several ways.
You can accept it as a sign of your growing success.
For example, a graphic artist rarely gets pats on the
back for good work. Because he or she is good they just
get more work. If you are in an internet marketing
business the chances are that the more successful you
become the greater the workload.
So looking at things that way it appears, on the
surface anyway, to be good, only tiring and rest will
fix that.
Or you can accept it as a burden on top of many other
burdens you have and so the condition becomes negative.
In this case it needs a real serious look.
Take time to yourself and have a re-look at things.
If you accept the above condition as good, even then it
may need to be re-analyzed. There may be ways you can
streamline, automate or delegate some of your work. It
is vital you maintain good solid think time so you can
remain centered.
If you accept the condition as a negative it is time
for you to re-think what you are doing, how you are
doing it or, at the very least, your attitude toward it
and why that attitude.
Life is too short to have things out of balance, out of
harmony or out of order. Those three attributes are
vital to the success of anything. If you, your
attitude, the condition, the people around you, the
task itself, the job itself, if any of it is out of
balance, out of order or out of harmony it will
ultimately fail. Those three attributes must prevail
before success can occur.
So, take time to reflect on what is happening in your
life. Realize you have the power to change things to be
what you want them to be. Relax, be thankful,
re-energize and come away from you Hour a new person.

Your Heart And Your Courage:
Both Belong To You
Both Must Be Nurtured And Respected
PART 3 of 11
Picture your cardiovascular (card: heart and vascular:
pertaining to a blood vessel, i.e. circulation) system
as a giant water or fluid transportation system,
delivering vital products through corridors or tubes
such as arteries and veins. Blood delivers nutrients,
oxygen, and disease-prevention elements such as lymph
to each and every cell in your body. And on the return
run, it picks up waste products to get them out of your
body. Just as a river is used to float things along:
upstream with power or downstream through gravity, so
does the circulatory system use its blood to deliver
its load. Included in this circulation is the lymphatic
system, with its protective measures to keep you
healthy or to build up protection. (Immune system) If
you have ever seen and understood the function of
canals with their locks, then recognize that this
similar elaborate system is happening in your body. The
valves are like locks and prevent back flow. This
encourages continual forward movement of your blood
throughout all parts of your body, even when it meets
resistance of some kind.
Lets pretend you are going to take a trip through your
cardiovascular system, very simplistically. The
circulatory system runs 24/7/365. In order not to add
to the confusion, we need a starting point. If you look
at the drawing of the four quadrants, it makes sense to
start at the top left hand corner. Pretend you are an
individual cell floating on plasma (fluid) and entering
the right atrium. (You have just come back from the
body with waste products such as carbon dioxide.) You
now flow into this chamber (space) until the area is
full. A sensor notes a certain amount of fluid and
sends a signal to shut off (by electrical impulse) any
more fluid. A door (valve) opens into the chamber
below called the right ventricle and you flow gently
into this space, as the heart is relaxed. Again, you
wait until the chamber is full. Now the muscles of this
part of the heart contract and push you into a tube
called the pulmonary artery. This propels you (floating
on the blood) to the lungs. Here you get rid of your
carbon dioxide (exchange) and pick up a fresh supply of
oxygen. You flow into the pulmonary vein tube and
come back into the heart, into the left atrium. In a
relaxed moment, you flow into the left ventricle. Then
as these muscles contract, you are pushed into the
aorta. From here you have a choice: either you go to
the superior part of the body, which houses the brain,
eyes, nose, ears, etc., or you can go to the inferior
part of the body, to such places as the kidneys or
bladder. To each area you will deliver your cargo of
oxygen and other elements. When your cargo is short of
oxygen and has an abundance of carbon dioxide, it is
called de-oxygenated blood. When you get rid of the
carbon dioxide and take on oxygen, it is called
oxygenated blood (cyanotic: bluish nail beds).

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"What is your problem, the light? Or the idea
that you don't know where it is coming from? Would
it be a bother to you if the workmen were right?
Why would you doubt them?"
"Mr. Wiley, the statue can't give off light.
It has no power to it."
"Is that right? Then where is the light coming
from?"
"Mr. Wiley. Is the statue giving off light?"
"Tell me first if that is a problem."
"Well, no, so long as it poses no safety risk
to anyone."
"Right. So now what is the problem? Is it that
you do not believe your workmen?"
"Mr. Wiley that isn't fair. We have never seen
anything like this. It is no wonder we doubt
them."
"Why? Are they dishonest men?"
"Mr. Wiley. You are placing me in an
impossible position."
"Yes. I am. You see it is because you don't
trust your men that you are concerned. The statue
is giving off the light just as they told you, yet
you insist they are wrong. I believe you owe them
an apology and a raise. It is you who is in the
wrong, not them. Now, is it a problem that the
statue gives off light?"
"No, Mr. Wiley. I'm sorry to have bothered
you."
The man hung up rather quickly, some from
embarrassment and some from frustration. David did
not make it easy on him.
Pam spoke with David that night as they were
in bed. "When do you think we should go home? Now
the statue is finished and delivered we have no
need to stay. It's been over three weeks now and I
think the kids are getting restless. There is only
so much time they can spend with Grandma and
Grandpa."
"Yes, I know. Maybe we should go back
tomorrow, or would you like to give a little more
notice and preparation time to the folks?"
"I think maybe we should head out Friday. That
will give them a day to get used to the idea.
Things have gone much better this time around so I
imagine we'll be doing this more often, or having
them down with us."
"I think you're right. Friday it is then."
They slept well.
The following day Pam told her folks of her's
and David's plans. While it came as a bit of a
surprise they understood. As most grandparents
knew it was a truly wonderful visit, but much too
busy to suit them. Grandparents love to have the
grandchildren around but they also love to see
them go home. It is good to be around the kids in
many short spurts rather than the seldom long
vacation style of visit.
"What is David going to do about the
unveiling? That will be in a couple weeks, won't
it?"
"Yes, Mom. I think David and I will both come
back for that. We won't stay long so we'll leave
the kids home. There are all sorts of people to
look after them there. I think that unveiling is
actually two weeks today, isn't it?"
"I think so."
"I tell you what. I am not sure they will have
anything special for David to do, but if so they
will phone here. You take the messages and make
the arrangements and we'll do as you have
arranged. I imagine they want him to sit with the
dignitaries and maybe make a speech, who knows.
Whatever you arrange is fine with us."
"We can do that honey. Is that okay with you
David?"
"Certainly, Mom. That would be fine. If you
need us for any decision making you aren't
comfortable with then just hold a picture of us in
your mind and then call us as if you were calling
in a picture in your mind. We'll get the message
and we'll come right away."
"I ... I've never done that. Are you sure it
will work?"
"Trust me Mom. If you call one of us will
appear very soon."
"That would be neat."
"Don't play with it though. Call only if you
need us."
"I know. I was just thinking I could keep you
hopping."
The rest of the day was spent doing things
together. Everyone knew that tomorrow David, Pam
and the kids would leave for home.

TODAY'S REPORT:
I'm getting off easy this week folks. It's a bit of same old same old.
The weather is so nice it's tempting and I can resist anything but
temptation. So I'm spending time with Mom and we are doing our
"lake thing". That means we do a little work, then relax for about
twice as long as the job took, then go at it again.

HA! HA! HA!
One of the most frustrating conversations in history is
recorded by Theatre Arts magazine.
A subscriber dialed 'Information' for the magazine's
number.
'Sorree,' drawled the lady, 'but there is nobody listed
by the name of Theodore Arts.'
'It's not a person; it's a publication,' insisted the
subscriber. 'I want Theater Arts.'
The operator's voice raised a few decibels. 'I told
you,' she repeated, 'we have no listing for Theodore
Arts.'
'Confound it!' hollered the subscriber, 'the word is
Theater': T-H-E-A-T-E-R.'
'That,' said the operator with crushing finality, 'is
not the way to spell Theodore!'
