Can a mother's dreams predict the gender of a fetus?

Here's more fascinating research on pregnancy.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore,
MD, conducted a study of 104 pregnant women who had
elected not to use prenatal testing to determine the
gender of their unborn babies. The women were asked to
foretell the gender of their babies and state whether
they were basing their predictions on folklore, a
feeling, a dream, or the way they were carrying the
baby. Interestingly, 71 percent of the women who based
their predictions on a feeling or a dream were
accurate. Even more astounding, those who based the
prediction on a dream were 100 percent accurate.
Researchers concluded that there is much about the
maternal-fetal connection yet to be explored.

What is a doula?

A doula is a professional labor assistant who provides
emotional support and physical comfort to a mother
during labor and delivery. She provides explanations of
medical procedures, pregnancy advice, massage and other
non-pharmacological pain relief measures, suggestions
on exercises and ways to make pregnancy and labor more
comfortable, and help with breastfeeding preparations
and beginnings. The word comes from the Greek term for
the most important female slave or servant in an
ancient Greek household, the woman who probably helped
the lady of the house through childbearing.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!

The Huang He (Yellow River) in China is also called "China's
sorrow." This is because it overflows its banks, and has
caused many destructions. One of the biggest floods was in
1887, where approximately one million people died in China
because of the flood.

Sow The Seeds Of Love!

A stingy old lawyer who had been diagnosed with a
terminal illness was determined to prove wrong the
saying, "You can't take it with you."

After much thought and consideration, the old ambulance
chaser finally figured out how to take at least some of
his money with him when he died. He instructed his wife
to go to the bank and withdraw enough money to fill two
pillowcases. He then directed her to take the bags of
money to the attic and leave them directly above his
bed. His plan: When he passed away, he would reach out
and grab the bags on his way to Heaven.

Several weeks after the funeral, the deceased lawyer's
wife, up in the attic cleaning came upon the two
forgotten pillowcases stuffed with cash. "Oh, that old
fool," she exclaimed. "I knew he should have had me put
the money in the basement."

Funny isn't it how greed and avarice can run our lives?
The joke may be funny yet it contains a scary glimpse
at the truth.

Somehow it never occurs to us that as we progress
through life our pursuit of the dollar soon hardens
into an attitude that cannot be removed. It puts a
"case" around us that is as hard as the shell on a
walnut and many of our loved ones feel left outside.

Oh! You may be generous and share your wealth, but do
you share you?

That is the real question isn't it? It is impossible to
have a happy life unless you share or are giving to
someone. Sharing wealth may be gratifying but sharing
you brings love, caring, peace. It is the ultimate in
good fortune.

I know the need for having an income, unless, of
course, you are living by higher law. So I know what
each of us must go through. This article is not against
earning an income, it is against the harboring of greed
and avarice, the attitudes.

In your pursuit of income keep love of your fellow man
at the top of the attitude scale and practice that
attitude in your dealings. That way you can die with
money and friends. Near that time of your life it is
the "and friends" that is important. Yet the seeds for
that are sown now, not then.

Your Heart And Your Courage:
Both Belong To You
Both Must Be Nurtured And Respected
PART 5 of 11

As you might suspect there can be any number of areas
and reasons where you can encounter problems. The
valves could get stuck or allow backflow or have a
leak. The muscle itself could be weak from lack of
oxygen, too much carbon dioxide, too many chemicals,
infections, or inadequate nutrition. Some part of it
could be dead from a blockage (heart attack). If we go
back to the original comment this patient got from the
doctor, it mentioned she had a problem with “the apex”.
That would be the “top” of the heart. It could mean
either left or right atrium. And if you are told the
“the bottom left”, it would most likely refer to
something in the left ventricle…or could that be the
right ventricle. Can you see how you really have
nothing definite to go on? But my other concern is:
what is she supposed to do with this inadequate
information? Worry? About what? There needs to be much
more intelligent discussion and clarification. The
sooner you can walk out of your doctor’s office knowing
what is going on, the sooner you will be in control of
your health. Isn’t that the entire goal? You may not
like what is going on, but at least you have asked some
appropriate questions and had some clarification.

Now let’s discuss how you do find out what you might
want to know. That involves taking your courage into
your “hands” and asking for clarification. It’s very
hard to do, but you have to learn and the sooner you
do, the sooner you will be in control of yourself. Let
me encourage you to learn to become stronger, to become
one who respects your health and your courage.  And
then proceeds to protect both at all costs. You have
been born with this body. It’s the only one you will
have.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------

The Mayor, now with a lump in his throat,
reached out to touch the base. Immediately he felt
a power surge into him, and he once more knew the
reality of "Old Pete".

He stepped back and let others move into the
statue. It brought a peace unto all who touched it
and each felt the power.

The crowd took on a somber mood, one almost of
reverence, as word passed back that you could feel
the power.

The statue became not just a statue but a
shrine. This represented more than just a man but
what that man stood for. Each of the qualities Old
Pete displayed were there in the statue and ready
to be transmitted unto any who touched it.

Pinehill was changed that day.

Bob Hunter came up to David. "David that is a
magnificent statue. You did an amazing job. What
is it all the people are talking about, it makes
them feel good?"

"Go down and touch the statue, Bob. See for
yourself." David responded encouraging Bob to go
find out for himself.

The town was in awe. They had never been
around anything like it. The statue instantly
became the meeting place in town. If you set up an
appointment with someone it would be at the statue
and from there you would proceed to where you were
going.

The Mayor and aldermen were huddled, talking.
finally one of them broke away and came over to
David. "Mr. Wiley, you did a wonderful job. The
statue is terrific. Are you sure it is safe and
that it will do no harm to anyone?"

The city fathers were ever fearful they were
going to get sued. Such is life in man's world.

Sam Henry came over, with Alewka. "Nice job
David. I see what you have done. I think that's a
great idea. I hope it will help many see their
lives from a different point of view. Nice job."

"Thank you Sam. I took the opportunity to
imbue the statue with those qualities that it
might send them to all who touched it. I thought
it might open some eyes. I just want it to serve
the community."

"It will, David. It will."

"Are you two staying a while or are you
returning home?"

"Alewka," responded Pam, "I think we'll be
getting back."

"When you arrive home will you tell Eloise
we'll be down in a couple days to spend some time
with her?

"You bet."

David and Pam went looking for Pam's folks,
Bob and Lynn Hunter. They were caught up in
conversation with friends, after having visited
the statue.

"Hi, Mom. David and I are thinking of leaving.
We'll talk to you later!"

"Okay, honey. Thanks for coming up. David,
that is a wonderful statue. The whole town is
talking about it. Thank you." Lynn Hunter stood on
her tip toes and gave David a kiss on the cheek.

David put his hand to his cheek and smiled.
"Thanks, Mom. I won't ever wash that cheek again."

They all laughed. David and Pam said goodbye
and left. After they were some way away, walking
up the street toward city hall, they vanished.

"Well. It looks like you scored some points
with my Mother." Pam was teasing him.

"It sure seems as if things have changed with
those two. They no longer seem to hold a grudge
against me or us. It would appear as if they are
mellowing to higher law."

"Silly, they are. They have to if they want to
see their grandchildren. Moreover, the job you did
on that statue, David, was wonderful. Mom and Dad
are basking in the glow of being your in-laws.
When they see what the town thinks of your work it
gives them a touch of personal pride that they are
your mother-in-law and father-in-law. Let's go
find the kids."

They knew where the kids were, of course. They
were down on the beach playing ball as usual. Yet
they wanted to see the kids and let the kids know
they were back.

Walking down to the beach the couple looked
for all the world like lovers. Pam was holding
David's hand and leaning on his shoulder. When
they saw the kids, they waved. The kids returned
their wave and now knew Mom and Dad were back.
They never left the game though. It was getting
tense and the kids wanted to contribute.

"Let's go back home. I want a piece of you
today. I love you. I'm so glad you came back to
get me and that we moved here. My life has never
been better. And there is no way it would be so
wonderful if we had stayed in Pinehill. I love
you."

Suffering from a bad case of the flu, the outraged

Calmly the voice at the other end of the line replied,
"If so, would you have your wife call to cancel the

"The only big ideas I've ever had came from
daydreaming, but modern life keeps people from
daydreaming. Every moment of the day your mind is being
occupied, controlled by someone else – at school, at
work, watching television. Getting away from all that
is really important. You need to just kick back in a
chair and let your mind daydream." -? Paul MacCready
