What are the "Seven Seas"?
The "Seven Seas" are actually oceans. They are: the
Arctic, Indian, North Pacific, South Pacific, North
Atlantic, South Atlantic, and the Southern oceans. In
days of old, when sailors had sailed all of the Seven
Seas, they were said to have sailed around the world.
What is the only ocean that encircles the entire earth
without being blocked by a land mass?
The Southern Ocean.

What Do You Mean Im Angry?
When you reach your boiling point, what do you do with
the steam? This makes all the difference in your
relationships at home, at work, and, with yourself.
Do you know when you are angry? Many folks don't. Not
only are they not aware they are angry, they are not
aware how they come across to others when they are
angry. This is a big problem
for everyone else. You
would be surprised how few folks actually understand
how they behave or how other folks see them.
Unfortunately, they are not sensitive to their own
attitudes, feelings emotions, and communication style.
Do you have high self-awareness? Do you have an
accurate picture of your behavior, tone of voice,
facial expressions? If you are unsure, sit down with
the person you most trust and ask them to paint an
honest picture for you. Yes, that may be difficult to
ask, and to hear. It must be done, though, if you want
to improve your relationships.
I recently heard a story about a manager whose employee
brought her a requested proposal for a new office
system. After reading the proposal briefly, the
manager went up one side of the employee and down the
other. Using language such as "This is absurd." "What
were you thinking?" "How long have you been with us?"
"You're making me wonder why I ever hired you." All
this was delivered from a standing position in a loud
voice with harsh eye contact. The employee, completely
taken aback and intimidated, went back to her cubicle
furious. Her colleague asked her about the meeting and
she described the reception. Soon, the story made the
rounds of the department.
The next week, the manager met a colleague who said to
her, "Wow! You were really hard on Michelle. Are you
planning on letting her go?"
The manager was stunned. "Why would you ever think
that? She's important to our operation." As they
discussed the incident, the manager realized that she
had no perception of the way she had delivered her
blows to Michelle. She thought she had been simply
responding to the ideas brought to her. No idea of the
effect of her behavior on the employee. This manager
needs to increase her self-awareness.
DO YOUR OWN WORK FIRST
Before you go telling others what they need to improve
within themselves, look in the mirror. What are you
doing? How are you delivering your messages? Is your
communication 'clean'?
Begin with yourself. How do you express your anger?
Do you express your anger or does your steam escape in
inappropriate ways at the wrong people having been
bottled up for too long?
IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS
You likely have heard the old story about the husband
who has been chewed out at work who comes home and
yells at his wife who screams at the kids who kick the
dog. If the husband had good communication and
conflict management skills, he would have handled the
issue at work in the first place, right?
If you feel intimidated, or you avoid conflict at all
costs, you need skills. Take a community college
course and read some books. Seek out good ideas to
increase your self-awareness and your skill set.
Conflict is not a four-letter word. It simply means to
have divergent ideas, needs, drives, wishes or demands.
That's OK but it is how we express those differences
that takes the toll. Learn to express them in ways
others can hear. It will build your self-confidence.
BEGIN SIMPLY
Pay attention to how you think, feel and respond in
different situations. Make a mental picture and
rehearse how you would like to respond. Use your new
skill set. Then, step out into the world.
Listen well when there is conflict. Look beneath the
words to the pain. For example, when someone is angry
with you because a piece of paper is missing, by
listening carefully you may realize what is underneath
the anger. You might then say, "I understand that not
finding this piece of paper right now might make you
late for your meeting and you may look inefficient."
That's the pain. By giving it a name, both you and the
other person deepen the understanding of the situation.
When you get really good at this, you will also deepen
your relationships.
Taking the time to build your self-awareness and your
skill set is well worth the effort. Everyone in your
life will benefit. You will benefit most of all.

Your Heart And Your Courage:
Both Belong To You
Both Must Be Nurtured And Respected
PART 9 of 11
Let me ask you some questions. Do you think a doctor
knows all his mechanic tells him about his car when it
goes in for repairs? I doubt it or they would fix it
themselves. Do you not think the doctor asks many
questions in order to understand what might happen to
the car if repairs are needed? Or not done? Of course.
What is the point of all these questions between the
doctor and the mechanic? To ascertain if the mechanic
is qualified to work on the car. Do you not think your
health and body might be a whole lot more important
than a car? Thrust me, it is! Would the doctor allow
the mechanic to work on the car if they didnt have
faith and trust that it would be done correctly? Never!
Questions and answers allow for trust and faith and a
degree of comfort to be shared. How can the doctor know
you dont have this faith and trust in their ability of
you dont question anything? Ask permission and explain
why you need to understand. Remember it is your right
to know: to UNDERSTAND what it all means. You dont
need to understand all the complex details. You simply
need to figure out that this person knows what they are
talking about and can make you feel they have your
interest in mind.
When I work with people who have symptoms that gather
under the overall term of Menieres, I wish I had a
dollar for every person who tells me they are under the
care of the top so and so in North America or of this
hospital or this medical center. That is fine; just
have them explain what is happening to YOUR body. Base
your decision on your own findings.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

"You make it sound simple, Dad."
"I wish it were so, Maz. You will run up
against many obstacles. When you are trying to be
quiet you will now notice every noise around you.
Here, we cannot shut that noise down. The birds
are going to sing, the animals will make their
noises and so will the rest of the kids in the
village. You will have to learn to shut those
noises out. Then, when you do that you find there
are situations that arise from within your own
body. You will find yourself thinking of girls,
the sex motivation will have time to take over
your thinking and because it is such a thrill you
will too often go with it rather than shut it down
and continue toward your objective. You must
remember you are meditating so you can come to
communicate with your Maker. You must let nothing
interfere with that for so long as you go down
other paths so long will you be held away from
what you want."
"Gee, I never thought about that. There must
be many detours and roadblocks."
"Yes there are Maz. The worst is a nagging
doubt that you are not worthy. That is straight
garbage, Maz, but you will have to deal with it.
You will have to remember your Maker made all men
the same. That each is built in the image of their
Maker. That means you. You must remember these are
the rules your Maker created for you and for each
man. This means that worthiness has nothing to do
with it. The rules are there for you and it is up
to you to learn them, understand them and put them
to work. 'Worthiness' has nothing to do with it.
Men think it does but they use it only as an
excuse. One thing you must also remember, Maz. All
you have done in life up to now has been
successful. You do not do this unless you are
committed to success. When you begin this you know
where you want to end up and you never quit until
you reach your objective, is that clear?"
"Yes, Dad."
Young Maz was just at that age where his body
was doing all sorts of sexual things to him. He
was a young man going through puberty and that,
without being invited, occupies a young man's mind
nearly all the time. It does the same for a young
woman, too, in a different way. Nonetheless, Maz
was early taught the benefits of self discipline,
and the benefits of thinking first of the welfare
of others, so that gave him a bit of a chance to
complete this journey now. Otherwise he would have
to reconcile his sexual propensities unto himself
first and then fight that inner battle to reach
mastership.
"I'll be here to talk with you whenever you
want, Maz. And we can speak on any topic. When you
live by higher law, Maz, there are no secrets. I
know all that is going on within you, as does your
Mother. All these things are part of the natural
growth of man. You need not be embarrassed by the
things that are going on within you now. We have
all gone through them. You will come out the other
side a mature man of which your Mother and I are
proud. Just remember these things can and will
keep you from your Maker until you learn to
control them."
"Is it like this for all men, Dad?"
"Do you mean all men and women, son?"
"Yes."
"Many men permit the sex thing to occupy
all their time and attention. Some women do too.
It is a major change that happens to all. We
simply have to understand that Maz. It isn't good,
it isn't bad, it just is. Accept it and move on.
What happens with a lot of men is that when they
try meditation this same sexual urge makes itself
known and, in meditation, it can run away with
you. It is all a matter of self control, Maz, and
you have shown yourself to be good in that
department. Yet you might run into obstacles you
find are tough to get over. If so, then come to me
and we'll talk. I might be able to help you."
"How will I know I am getting it, Dad?"
"You will know, Maz. I don't mean to be
facetious. That is how you know. Your Maker will
not communicate with you in words. You, too, will
learn to communicate with thought and not words.
When you are communicating with your Maker you
find that inside you you 'know' the answer to
whatever question you raised. You will 'know' what
is right and you will 'know' all the answers. It
is only that you must learn to recognize that
'knowing' as being communication with your Maker.
Once you do and you practice you will find you can
do all things."
"I think this will be fun, Dad."
"I think so too, son. Come with me for a
minute."

THINK ABOUT THIS TODAY!
"When everyone is looking for gold, it's a good time to
be in the pick and shovel business." - Mark Twain
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
HA! HA! HA!
A young man bought the fastest motorcycle that money
could buy--a Yamaondason 2000 SP 8.2. It was the most
expensive bike in the world and cost him $32,150.99.
The first day he bought the new bike he took it for a
spin. While doing so he stopped at a red light at the
city limits.
An old man pulled up next to him on a moped. The old
man looked over at the bright, red, shiny, sleek new
motorcycle and asked, "What kind of scooter ya got
there, sonny?"
The young man replied, "It's a Yamaondason 2000 SP 8.2.
It costs $32,150.99 out the door."
"That's a lot of money," said the old man, shocked.
"Why does it cost so much?"
"Because this bike can go 200 mph!" exclaimed the young
man.
The old fella asked, "Can I take a closer look at it?"
"Sure," replied the new owner.
From his moped the old man leaned over and took a good
look at the very fast-looking machine. Just then the
light changed, so the young man decided to show the old
guy what his new motorcycle could really do. He gave it
full throttle and within 30 seconds the speedometer
read 199 mph.
Suddenly, he noticed a dot in his rear-view mirror. It
seemed to be getting closer! He slowed a little to see
what it could be and suddenly, WHHHOOOSSSHHH! Something
whipped passed him going much faster.
"What could be faster than my 2000 SP 8.2?" the young
man thought to himself.
Then just ahead of him, he saw the dot coming back at
him. WHHHOOOSSSHHH! It went flying by him again going
in the opposite direction! It almost looked like the
old man on the moped! How could that be?, thought the
young man. Again he saw the dot in his mirror!
WHHHOOOSSSHHH! KABBBLAMMM! The moped slammed into the
rear of the shiny new 2000 SP 8.2, demolishing the read
end of the young rider's pride and joy. The young man
jumped off and saw it was the old timer.
Of course the moped was crushed and the old man was
lying on the ground pretty beat up. The young man ran
over to him and asked, "Are you hurt? Is there
anything I can do for you?
The old man groaned and replied, "Yes, could you unhook
my suspenders from your side-view mirror?"
