Reality Check!
The grizzled old sea captain was quizzing a young, tyro
naval student. "What steps would you take if a sudden storm
came up on the starboard?"
"I'd throw out an anchor, sir."
"What would you do if another storm sprang up aft?"
"I'd throw out another anchor, sir."
"But what if a third storm sprang up forward?"
"I'd throw out another anchor, captain."
"Just a minute, son. Where in the world are you getting all
these anchors?"
"From the same place you're getting all your storms, sir."
Such is life. Every once in a while we need to get our feet
back on solid ground.
I can't think of a better time of year to do that than right
now when things are usually slower than the norm.
We should have a real look at what we accomplished last
year, relative to our goals. I know I started out with big
plans and did not achieve them. Yet in a strange way I did
achieve them.
The reality check says I do not have the money in my pocket
that I planned on. However, it also says that through the
course of the year I learned a lot, gained confidence and if
I should keep on my same path my objective will indeed
appear.
I realize things change from time to time, day to day. I
realized that the thoughts and ideas I began with have been
changed, amended, clarified. I realize those changes have
only made me better equipped to accomplish my objective.
The reality is that last year I was not yet ready to achieve
what I thought. This year, I am. Interesting isn't it.
I could have quit a dozen times last year, what with no
results here and no results there. I became so frustrated at
times that the easiest thing in the world would have been to
quit.
Yet reality says nothing - - - NOTHING - - - is in vain if
you keep on keepin' on.
In other words if you continually see yourself, in your
minds eye, as a successful individual, having certain
material goods around you; if that image never wavers, if
you are constant with that image - - - - it will come to
pass.
Yes, you will have failures along the way, many of them. At
least I hope you do for if you do not then you aren't doing
anything. The failures not only show you the way not to go,
they have a way of showing you what to do next.
In truth, I wish upon you hundreds of failures. The more the
merrier. For when you fail often you are on the fast track
to getting your objective.
The failures build your confidence, your determination, your
resolve. Or so it should. Just remember quitting is easy.
Anyone can quit. It takes a person of firm resolve to carry
on where all the signs are against you. That is why there
are so few millionaires, compared to non-millionaires.
Reality says keep on keepin' on. Stay true to your
objective. Fear not failure. Look at it as a friend for it
brings you one step closer to your goal.

growth or expansion comes without some pain or discomfort. That you

Why Do We Have To Be Healthy?
PART 4 of 5
I want to present you with an unusual idea and then a
challenge. I am now convinced we can maintain health.
We can prevent degenerative conditions. We can nurture
our bodies in ways to keep them healthy…to BE healthy.
To get your health back in all ways: physical, mental,
and social. Even the AMA has agreed it can be done.

But the way I see it, many people, including some in
the medical community, don’t know it’s possible. If
they do, they don’t produce tools or resources for
their patients that make this information easily
accessible. If they would like to believe it, they
don’t know how to find helpful information. So wouldn’t
it make sense for you to do research on what your body
needs to BE healthy, and then find ways to give it
those “ingredients”? Here is one place to start your
research. http://www.macwilliam.net This will be one of
the best and most effective resource tools for your
“library”. For example, if your workshop was short on
some supplies, you would make a list and get it filled.
If your kitchen cupboards had some empty spots, you
would make a list and shop for them, and replace them
into the cupboard. I see this as being entirely
possible for your body. So how do you go about finding
out what is missing? If you are able to do all the
things in the definition of health, then you are fine.
If not, you need to look at your lifestyle and do some
research on the mental, physical, or social deficits.
But I’ll tell you now, that in my experience, once the
physical part is looked after and made “better”, the
rest seems to fall into place very quickly and with
great appreciation!

I see the Saddam Hussein trial continues on its circus like
way. Some of those on trial are continually causing trouble
and many have had to be thrown out on several occassions.
Defense is crying it did not have enough time to prepare, a
new trial judge had to be found and during the trial two
defense lawyers have been killed.
The entire thing is a circus, albeit a circus that continues
to use the principles of law to try these men.
It is the best men can do under their system of laws, and I
am pleased they are at least attempting to conduct this
trial by use of the highest principles of law. That is far
more than any Iraqi ever got under Hussein's regime.
Apparently the trial could wind up as early as next month
and sentence passed down soon thereafter. If found guilty
these men will undoubtedly get the death penalty.

This just goes to show the quality of US criminals has
definitely taken a nose-dive!
- Florida:
Wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun, a thief burst into the
bank one day. Aiming his gun at the guard, the thief yelled,
"FREEZE, MOTHER-STICKERS, THIS IS A ****-UP!"
For a moment, everyone was silent. Then the snickers started.
The guard completely lost it and doubled over laughing.
It probably saved his life, because he'd been about to
draw his gun. He couldn't have drawn and fired before the thief
got him. The would-be thief ran away and is still at large.
- Tennessee:
A man successfully broke into a bank after hours and stole
the bank's video camera. While it was recording. Remotely.
(That is, the videotape recorder was located elsewhere in
the bank, so he didn't get the videotape of himself stealing
the camera...)
- Louisiana:
A man walked into a Circle-K, put a $20 bill on the counter and
asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer,
the man pulled out a gun and asked for all the cash in the
register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took
the cash from the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on
the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer?
Fifteen dollars. If someone points a gun at you and gives *you*
money, was a crime committed??
- New York:
As a female shopper exited a convenience store, a man grabbed
her purse and ran. The clerk called 911 immediately, and the
woman was able to give the police a detailed description of
the snatcher. Within minutes, the police had apprehended the
snatcher. They put him in the cruiser and drove back to the
store. The thief was then taken out of the car and told,
"Stand there for a positive ID."
To this instruction the man replied, "Yes Officer, that's her.
That's the lady I stole the purse from!"
- New Jersey:
A Newark woman reporting her car as stolen mentioned that there
was a car phone in it. The policeman taking the report called
the phone and told the guy that answered that he had read the
ad in the newspaper and wanted to buy the car. They arranged
to meet, and the thief was arrested. ;-)
- Kentucky:
Two men tried to pull the front off an ATM by running a chain
from the machine to the bumper of their pickup truck. Instead of
pulling the front panel off the machine, though, they pulled the
bumper off their truck. Scared, they left the scene and drove
home, with the chain still attached to the machine, with
their bumper still attached to the chain, and with their
vehicle's license plate still attached to the bumper!! :-)
