DECISION

There can be no lasting success in life without decision of
character. Even brains are secondary in importance to will.
The intellect is but half of the person; the will is the
driving wheel, the spring of motivating power. A vacillating
person, no matter what their abilities, is invariably pushed
aside in the race of life by one of determined will. It is
those who resolve to succeed, and at every fresh rebuff begin
resolutely again, that reach their goals.
The shores of fortune are covered with the stranded
wrecks of people of brilliant abilities who have lacked courage,
faith, and decision, and have therefore perished, while less
capable but more resolute adventurers have succeeded in
making port.
Hundreds of people go to their graves in obscurity only because
they lacked the pluck to make the first effort, and who, could
they only have resolved to begin, would have astonished the
world with their achievements and successes.
There are occasions when action must be taken at once.
There is no time for long and careful calculation of the chances.
The occasion calls for immediate action. The call must be met
or time goes swiftly by and our utmost exertions cannot bring
it back.
At such times is seen the triumph of those who have carefully
trained all their faculties to a habit of prompt decision.
They seize the occasion and make the thought turn into instant
action; they at once plan and perform, resolve and execute.
To do anything in this world that is worth doing one must not
stand shivering on the bank, thinking of the cold and the
danger, but plunge in and scramble through as best one can.
The world was not made for slow, squeamish, fastidious people,
but for those who act promptly and with power. Everyone must
meet obstacles and perplexities, and must either conquer them
or be conquered by them.

The Mindset Of A Health-Focussed Person
Versus An Illness-Focussed Person

Now contrast that to the ILLNESS-FOCUSSED person.
They blame everyone else for their health
problems. They expect others to get them well.
They accept poor outcomes and then complain, but
won't confront the situation. They willingly take
yet another drug to alleviate symptoms. They
accept all aches and pain as normal. They won't
listen to any other points of view, but believe
everything they hear from "safe sources". Their
"doctor" and "pharmacist" is their barber or
friend from work. They don't read books on health
issues in fear of catching something, but
criticize or ridicule anyone who does. Their minds
are closed to any new concepts or discoveries. For
medical treatments, they ask their doctor for the
drug of choice in the neighbourhood that week.
Proper nutrition and exercise are unknown or are
seen as wasted money and time. What is really sad
is the money they spend in our "healthcare" system
is so unnecessary. I want to make it very clear
that all of this doesn't just pertain to women.
Men are equally involved.both in the wellness
focus and the illness focus. Your gender doesn't
make any difference: your attitude is IT! So
please reread this article and see which focus you
have chosen, but I think it's already decided. I
can't imagine anyone even reading an Internet
ezine if they don't want to learn. I hear many
stories about people doing intensive research on
the Internet and printing what they think is
relevant information.to give their doctor or
healthcare provider, thinking they are helping. In
return, they find that their efforts aren't quite
as welcome as they anticipated.
Let me assure you that none of this is in vain.
The more you learn, the more you feel confident
to ask questions, the longer you and your family
will stay healthy. I have a lot of faith in human nature
to move forward: to help themselves with guidance
and support from their health care professionals. And
I am really looking forward to the day when we can
applaud wellness-focussed health and celebrate the
demise of illness-based care. We CAN do something
about degenerative conditions, but only if each
individual person starts to take full
responsibility for their own health.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

She called the kids and they both came running. "Yes
Grandma?" they said in unison.
"It's time for lunch, then you can come back to play. Do
you remember Mr. Striker?" asked Mae.
"No!" the exclaimed.
"I guess you were too young to remember Missy getting
married. Mr. Striker is a friend who came down to the
wedding. He remembers you, but you were too young then
Maz, and Mae Eloise, you weren't even born then." said
Mae, "Come let's go get some lunch."
They were all on their way, when it happened.
Little Mae Eloise came around to Ben's side of the group
and she took his hand. Ben nearly melted into his heart.
He looked deep into Mae Eloise's eyes and saw the
unqualified love only a child can give. Ben was nearly
in tears. He picked up the little girl and gave her a big
hug. "Would you like me to carry you 'til we get to the
house?" he asked.
"Yes, Mr. Striker." said the quiet little voice.
Ben Striker had never felt so loved as he was, this day,
in this place. Not only did he experience love from his
fellow masters, but the innocent, trust filled love of this
child nearly overwhelmed him. He and Helen had no
children. This took him by surprise.
They all walked back to David and Pam's hut where
Pam had lunch all ready. David was not there, being
still over at Eloise's and Mazunta's with Sam.
They ate a nice lunch and enjoyed each other's
company. The kids were very well behaved, but full
of chatter. They were excited about the things they
were doing today. It was pure joy for Ben to participate
in this meal.
Sam and the others had lunch, too. They were so
seldom together, they, too, enjoyed each other's
company.
It was a peaceful day in the village and the accepted
norm for the villagers, but for the visitors this day. The
villagers really liked Sam and Ben and showed it at
every turn.
Following lunch, Ben excused himself and began to
walk toward the beach. He hadn't taken three steps
when he felt a little hand take his. Little Mae Eloise was
coming with him. He squeezed her hand.
They were walking past the area where David and his
workmen were carving some statues. They stopped
and everyone chatted. Ben was impressed with the work
the men were doing. David was training them.
Later they were on the beach, and having to dodge the
ball game once in a while. Sitting here, close to the river
was what Ben thought of as a movie scene. It was the stuff
of photographs in travel magazines. It conveyed all the
warmth, peace, sunshine one thought of when reading
those magazines.
While all this was going on, Ben was doing some heavy
thinking at his soul level. Thinking might be the wrong
word, feeling maybe, or absorbing. He was letting all
that had happened sink in.
Then he heard a voice behind him. "I think it is time we
carried on with our day and our work, Ben."
Ben recognized Sam Henry's voice. He looked at
Mae Eloise and smiled. "I think it is time I must leave.
May I come and visit you again?"
"Yes, Mr. Striker. I like you." she said as she stood up
and put both her little arms around Ben's neck.
"Okay Sam. I think I'm ready."
"You sure made a hit with that young lady!" said Sam.
"I sure did, and I can tell you she sure worked her way
into my heart. She is a sweet child." answered Ben, sad
to leave the child.
"You can come here at will, Ben, anytime you want. You
now know how to do that." said Sam.
