The internet is abuzz today over the lawsuit commenced
by some pretty big companies. We won't go into it here,
mostly because every newsletter I read today is covering
the story.
Yet it merits a point of view I don't think has been
considered. My real gut level thinking is that they have
done this for cheap publicity, and not because they are
idealists. Don't forget they want the business. Sure
spammers are clogging up their equipment, but this
is more a prestige thing, not substance.
Yet another piece of news is encouraging to those who
use the internet to market their products and services. It
seems the use of the internet is growing and that it is
succeeding. Have a look at this excerpt from MediaNews

Email Delivery Rates Increased In Q4 2003

Thursday, March 11, 2004
Most email marketers saw delivery rates increase or
remain stable during the fourth quarter of 2003, according
to a recently released report by Bigfoot Interactive. This
occurred despite the fact that many email marketers
were attempting to align their operations according to
the regulations in the newly passed federal
Can-Spam Act. The Act was signed into law on
Dec. 16, 2003; it went into effect on January 1, 2004.
Bigfoot noted that delivery monitoring, a top priority for
email marketers, posted strong results for the media and
financial services categories. The categories posted
overall delivery rates of 92 percent and 90 percent,
respectively. Unique click-through rates increased
27 percent for the media category, from 10.3 percent
during the third quarter 2003 to 13.1 percent--due, in
large part, to a constant flow of general and political
news alerts.
The retail category posted a modest 5 percent gain over
the third-quarter results: Click- throughs reached
8.6 percent, as e-coupons and holiday promotional
efforts continued to perform well.

DOS stands for Disk Operating System, is the
programming that controls the operation of your
hard drive. Windows has a command line built in,
at it's called the 'Run' dialog box.
You get to it from the Start Menu. If you click
Start, Run, and type 'notepad' (without the quotes)
you'll be issuing the command to run Notepad.

What you have here is an adaptation of measures we
teach in clinics for arthritics. But it's my
experience that not only "arthritics" but many
others could also use this type of information and
support. Hence the different focus. It's the fear
of pain or discomfort that prevents many people
from doing more things. Therefore you want to
offer and help install as many truly
"energy-saving" devices as possible. Some cost
money, but many don't. Offer to drive them to
their weekly shopping and be their hands and legs.
Take turns with another relative or caring friend.
Make it a comforting and loving outing. The good
part is that although this starts out as a treat
for them, YOU will gain much more than they will
ever get! And leave your phone number handy. You
will seldom get a call from someone who wants to
stay independent, but the fact you do will make
them feel much more loved and wanted. I think it's
your intention when you start out helping as to
how effective it all ends up. And of course, the
best gift of all is your time to sit with them. To
share memories and laughter. To accept them for
who they have been and who they have now become.
We all need that, but if you give this gift away
first, you will get your reward very quickly! But
don't sit too long with them. They need to move
regularly or their bodies will become stiff. There
are many ideas mentioned here, but there are many,
many more to explore. Whether you are a grandson
or granddaughter, a son or daughter, your
contribution will be returned to you many times
over. You will become a much more valuable member
of our "community". We need your compassion .and
creativity!

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"He is not sure he wants to make any changes. It is
another case of knowing what your circumstances are
as opposed to going into the unknown. But he's down.
He doesn't think life is worth living. I think he is paying
attention. He is certainly looking for help of some kind.
He does not like where he is and what is happening to
him. We will work with him." said Tim.
"That's good. I can think of no one I know who could use
your help more." said Ben, "keep me advised, or better
yet, if you think I can help, then call me in."
"That might just be a good idea Mr. Striker." said Tom,
"We'll keep you posted."
"Well, folks. It has been a while since I've seen Helen.
I think I'll be on my way. I think Pinehill will look a whole
lot different to me now." Ben winked at Sam and Alewka,
"Thanks for the coffee. I'll talk with you tomorrow."
Ben Striker stood and in that instant disappeared.
Ben thought he better appear in the house but at the
front door. He did not want to startle Helen too much.
"Honey! I'm home!" he hollered from the front entrance.
As he thought, Helen was upstairs in the bedroom
preparing for bed.
"Oooh! You surprised me! I'll be down in a minute." Helen
yelled from upstairs.
Soon Ben heard her footsteps almost running down the
stairs. He had gone into the kitchen and when she spotted
him she came running into his arms. "Oh, I'm so glad to
see you. I'm so happy for you. What do you think of your
new life?" she said.
"Wow! You've never greeted me like that before. What's
up?" Ben asked.
"Not much. I spent the day with Alewka. We talked about
a lot of things, but mostly the importance of your trip. She
explained to me what was happening and what you would
be like when you returned. I am so glad you're my husband,
you don't know how happy that makes me. I'm so very
proud of you Ben Striker."
"How did you know I succeeded?" Ben asked.
"Well there are three things, really. First is that since I've
know you when you make up your mind you always
succeed. Second, you told me you were not coming back
until you were successful. Third, Alewka told me you
made it." Helen responded, "I wasn't too sure what all this
would mean to us, to me, so I phoned Alewka this morning
and asked if we could spend the day together. She said
yes, of course. She explained it all to me. Where I was
afraid before, I am not now."
"I'm glad you did that. Sam and Alewka have been good
friends. It was when he caused you to be well, where
otherwise you might have died, that I made up my mind.
I just had to cause myself to be free. That is when I retired.
Then, even then, I ended up so busy I just got frustrated
and called Sam. You know the rest." said Ben.
The pair of them sat down with a drink of water and Ben
explained all that he had gone through. Helen sat there
almost mesmerized by the story. She knew the places,
the people and could understand the events.
"I want to go see the orphanage, too, when we are at
Oomano's and Romano's wedding, May I?" asked Helen.
"Absolutely." said Ben.
"And I want to see that sweet little girl you spoke of. I
want to hold her and hug her. I can already tell she's a
sweetheart. And I know she has good taste in men."
Helen smirked at him.
"Don't tease. She is a wonderful little girl. I told her my
wife's name was also Helen. She was pleased with
that." said Ben.
"So, does the world look any different?" asked Helen.
"No, not a bit. But it no longer has the grasp on me it
once had. I am somehow detached from everything. It is
as if I am no longer owned by my desires. I am free and
able to do anything I want. It will take a little getting used
to, I know. I still have all the things I had before I learned
higher law, but somehow it doesn't matter. If they aren't
here I am fine with that because I can manifest it again.
It is as if I no longer have need of anything men want. I
can create any of it so why do I want to 'possess' or
'own'? When you learn higher law, the rest of it is no
longer as important as it once was. I guess it is much
like going to school. When you are in grade ten, the
things of grade ten are important. and one would argue
fiercely for that. But when you graduate and eventually
get to grade twelve, the things of grade ten no longer
matter." Ben was "thinking out loud".

One day a young man was visiting the fair, over to
one side was a small tent, with a sign that said
"For 50 dollars I'll teach you to be a mind
reader! Apply within."
So the young man thought that he'd give it a go,
and went inside.Behind a small table inside was an
old man, who looked up when the young man
entered and says, "Ah, you must be here for the
mind reading lessons."
"Well, yes" the young man said.
"Well, follow me, and I'll give you your first lesson."
Then the old man goes out the back of the tent and
walks over to a hose, which he picks up one end of.
"here, hold this hose."
"Why?" said the young man.
"It's part of the lesson," replies the old man, "Now,
look in the end and tell me what you see."
So the young man looks into the end of the hose,
and only sees darkness. "I don't see anything," he
tells the old man.
Just then the old man turns on a tap, and the hose
shoots water into the young mans face, "I had a
feeling you'd do something like that!" the
young man shouts at the old man.
"You are now a mind reader!" the old man replies,
"That'll be 50 dollars."
