Yes. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the man behind the
logic-loving fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, was
a firm believer in the occult and professed belief in

"invisible world." He even wrote a book, The Coming
of the Fairies, to defend the validity of the famous
Cottingley fairy photos taken by two young girls
in 1917.
What were the famous Cottingley fairy photos?
In 1917, two young cousins from Yorkshire, England,
produced photos they professed to have taken in
Cottingley Glen of themselves with tiny fairies. To
today's observer, the photos are obvious fakes made
with paper cut-outs of fairies, but to many credulous

Communication Skills?

A man is a person who, if a woman says, "Never mind,
I'll do it myself; lets her.
A woman is a person who, if she says to a man, "Never
mind, I'll do it myself," and he lets her; gets mad.
A man is a person who, if a woman says to him, "Never
mind, I'll do it myself," and he lets her and she gets
mad; says, "Now what are you mad about?"
A woman is a person who, if she says to a man, "Never
mind, I'll do it myself," and he lets her and she gets
mad, and he says, "Now what are mad about?" says, "If
you don't know I'm not going to tell you."
Aaah! The never ending battle of the sexes. This comes
up because, I guess, "Men Are From Mars, Women
Are From Venus".
I like this joke, probably because it comes too close
to the truth.
It is truly funny how we let our habits get in the way of
good communication. And yet, good communication
is the only thing that will ensure a continuing good
relationship.
It starts with trust. Without it you don't have good
communication. That applies in all forms of communication,
whether with ones significant other, someone else, a
group, on the website, in your email, on radio, in the
newspaper or on television.
Trust is the key element, for if you are not believable,
if you are not trustworthy, folks will turn off.
That applies with the significant other, too. To
communicate effectively one must trust you will not
abuse what you learn in the conversation. The only
way I know to do that is to listen well, without emotion,
and use any information you get, for the common good,
not for your own agenda.
Funny, that applies to all communication. If you are
seen as a opportunist, taking advantage of information
for your good alone, that will turn folks off again.
But if you believe you are doing right, and convey that
in a way that folks believe you have their interests at
heart, your communication will yield much for all involved.
And that is the key to good communication, a good deal,
a good sale, is that if it works out the best for all involved,
it is then good communication.
One way communication leaves the scene of good
communication soon after one reaches puberty. To
that point a parent, teacher, adult is seen as an authority
figure and what they say can be one sided communication.
Once one reaches puberty, however, they are seeking
themselves and need open and honest communication.
That means two way. Think on that. It will save you
lots of trouble.
So besides using words your audience understands,
good communication is seen to have your audiences
interests at heart. Doing that will bring rewards from
all corners.

Windows
The middle button of the three upper right buttons
on an open window goes by that name. It does
maximize the window to full screen, but only if
it's not already full screen.
If the window is fully open, pass your mouse
cursor over the button and you'll read the word
"Restore." A click is all it takes to shrink the window
away from the screen edges so you can
grab it with your mouse and resize it manually.
In the lower right corner there's a ridged-looking
area that can grabbed. Put your mouse over that,
and it turns into a double headed diagonal arrow.
Click and drag to adjust a window's size precisely.

Health Question About
Fibromyalgia & Arthritis
PART 1 of 5
HEALTH QUESTION: Hi there, I have a question. I had an x-ray
confirming I have "degenerative lippings" in my neck. Is this
Osteoarthritis? I am 32, what can I expect to happen in the
future as I age?
(1) Will this cripple me?
(2) I also have fibromyalgia.... which is painful, but at least it isn't
degenerative!
(3) Any help you can offer in answering my questions is greatly
appreciated... as I have searched a bunch of different websites,
but none actually specify what "degenerative" lippings are.
(4) Since I have had the Fibromyalgia in my upper back, I have the
degenerative lippings, I have had constant "bloatedness"
(5) I now have a sluggish bowel, occasional swelling of my
leg calves, eyes sore & swollen, jaw aches, inflamation in
my shoulders, neck & upper back. I never sleep well, wake
sore and unrefreshed. I feel like I am 90
(6)! Thanks so much for you're time.
MY ANSWER: (1) This is a very common question. I suggest you do
some research and visit your family doctor or other health care
provider. Through a variety of tests and examinations, you will
receive a diagnosis. If you are curious as to how your symptoms
compare with the term Osteoarthritis, visit this Medline site.

Here we find that arthritis deals with the cartilage of the
affected joint (knees, elbows, fingers, toes, etc.) The actual
joint gets roughened and becomes worn down (usually both
surfaces). As the disease progresses, the cartilage becomes
completely worn down and the bone rubs on bone. This sounds very
painful! It's like running your car with only the wheels and no
tires.
We also learn that "Bony spurs usually develop around the
joint." So any smooth flow of motion is now "interrupted" by
pain caused by the misalignment of the tissue that surrounds it.
Doctors may also refer to this as degenerative arthritis or
degenerative joint disease.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

"That makes sense. I can understand that. The way
Alewka explained this to me made me start to think on
higher law. It somehow makes so much more sense to
me now. It is like 'looking through a glass darkly'. It
takes wisdom to 'see'. I like what I see, Ben." she said.
Ben came over to her and gave her a hug and a long
kiss. It was his way of telling her that he loved her. Yet
even here, he found, that though he loved her, he wanted
her to have the freedom to make her own decisions. He
did not want her to make choices for his sake, but for hers.
There was a subtle difference in the way he now looked
at Helen. A good way, but different.
Tim and Tom decided they would go over to
Billy Hendricks' house the next day. They had not
called beforehand.
As they approached the house they could hear noises
within. There was the occasional crash of something
falling or being thrown and there was yelling, angry
yelling, constant.
They looked at one another and "knew" what was going
on. They approached the door and rang the doorbell. No
answer. They waited, then rang again.
This time a big, sweaty man, dressed only in an undershirt
and shorts, answered the door. He had a pot in one hand,
a cigar in his mouth and a can of beer in the other hand.
He sneered at the boys. "Yah! What do you want?" he
asked angrily.
Calm and confident Tim said "We came to get Billy. May
we see him, please."
"That little bastard? He's grounded for the day. He's goin'
nowhere. Who the hell are you, anyway?" came the
angry words.
The big man was breathing hard. His breath smelled and
he smelled as if he had not had a bath in over a year.
The boys stepped back and both concentrated on
broadcasting love toward this man.
"Get out of here before I crown you with this pan." the man
said, fully expecting the boys to run.
They stood there calmly.
The man opened the door and raised the pot, as if to strike.
The boys did not move. This angered the man more.
He raised the pot higher and brought it down toward Tim
as hard as he could. Tim stood his ground. The pot hit the
shield Tim had put up and bounced back to the man, hitting
him in the face hard enough to break his nose, open the
skin in several places and knock him down flat, unconscious.
He fell at the boys feet and then began to roll toward them.
The porch the boys were standing on was much lower at
the front than at the house side. One of those houses that
once were magnificent, but was now showing the years of
wear and no maintenance.
The boys stopped him from rolling, but then stepped over
him and went into the house. The place was a mess. There
were beer cans strewn all over, dirty dishes had been thrown
and lay in pieces where they fell. The house smelled of
unkempt food management.
Walking into the kitchen there was a woman on the floor.
She was wearing a thin cotton dress and sitting with her
back to a wall, sobbing. Tom walked over to her and gently,
putting his hand under her chin, raised it to look into her eyes.
The woman had a huge bruise on her left cheek. There
was a large spot of blood on her dress, and in the middle
of it were three teeth. Her eyes were now turning black.
Her hair was matted and wet. and her face was split open
in two places, bleeding.
She looked at Tom with glassy eyes that were pointed at
him but saw nothing. She continued to sob. Tom, gently
lowered her chin again.
Tim was stepping around the scattered food, cans, plates
and utensils on the kitchen floor. Looking in the dining room
he found more of the same. He walked over to the hallway
and toward the bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms looked
like a hurricane had come through. Bedclothes, bedding,
clothing, make up and all sorts of things spilled, thrown
and scattered all over.
