TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------
Where did the iceman get his ice?
Is it true that there once was an international ice trade?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
What's the difference between a parasite and a symbiote?
Both parasites and symbiotes need someone else to
survive. The difference is in what they offer. Parasites (like
fleas and ticks, for instance) just take, take, take. They
need the host to provide THEM with food or shelter, but
they offer the host nothing in return (except itchy skin and
blood loss, in the case of fleas and ticks). But symbiotes
live in harmony with the host and both members of the
relationship receive SOMETHING out of it.
In the days before refrigerators, when the iceman brought
you ice, how did THEY keep ice frozen?
Sawdust. Covered with sawdust and stored in a
well-insulated ice house, large blocks of ice can remain
frozen for almost a year.

4 Simple Fresh Approaches To Triple Profits!
by S. Kumar
Ok, You got your Order and gained a customer!
Congrats! Your marketing efforts have paid off.
What next? Simple.--Leverage it to Maximum!
One of the most ignored factors after a sale is
NOT to have a STRATEGY to retain the customer
and to maintain sustained customer satisfaction!
Your customer has trusted you and he has bought
from you. Now its time to take it to the next level.
...which is "Sustained Customer Satisfaction"
Sustained customer satisfaction becomes
important in every business. More so on the
Internet because of three primary reasons.
1. You can sell more back end products to the
same customer with his FULL approval.
2. You can promote different affiliate programs
to this customer which he will join on your
word.
3. To earn his appreciation! His words are
worth of gold to your Website. Word
of mouth publicity still remains the best
promotional method ever discovered.
Most of the time when I purchased online all I
received was a " Standard Thank You Letter ".
Cold and impersonal that clearly came across
as a Routine Exercise.
Of course I heard from them again when they
wanted to promote an affiliate program or a
back end product. And this included two known
'Gurus' who never thought of a strategy for
-Sustained Customer Satisfaction!
Here is a Strategy That I adopt on my site:
*Sustained Customer Satisfaction Strategy *
-Step 1: I give an unannounced surprise bonus
IMMEDIATELY on sale. This puts the customer
on a positive frame of mind as more value has
been added to his purchase.
-Step 2: A "Personalized" thank you email is
send to my customer mentioning the support
email Ids and BOLDLY reminding him that he is
under 100% refund cover.
He can simply ask for charge back if the product
is not up to the standard he expected.
( I am yet to receive a Charge back for the
38 info products on my site! )
-Step 3: Exactly after 4 days I send one more
email to him with a simple subject line:
" Customer Name, Just Checking on XXX Product".
Inside I give him one more SURPRISE Gift as well
as enquire how the product is being useful to him.
His suggestions and opinions are invited for further
improvement.
-Step 4: After 7 days I send him one more
email with a subject line:
" Customer Name, Your valued recommendation".
Inside He will be requested to RECOMMEND 5 of
his friends informing them that he has actually
BOUGHT from:
http://www.learnhomebusiness.com and they
are trust worthy. And just for his valuable
recommendation he gets one more " QUALITY "
Surprise Gift!
Please remember here that this " Recommendation"
form is meant only for your customers and this is
Not the usual " Recommendation " form.
After two years of adopting this strategy, in 2004,
more than 70% of my income comes from my past
customers -by repeat purchases or by joining for
programs under me.
_______________________________
*Two Free "Tell-A-Friend" Resources*
1. Here is a Free .cgi script with advanced features
that perfectly lets you implement the above strategy.
It has an easy to use web interface, self installing,
full personalization, change messages at will and
many more. You need not be a techie to use it.
http://www.learnhomebusiness.com/aff/refscript.htm
2. You may a get a free " Tell-A-Friend " facility from
http://www.bravenet.com/. This is a rather simple
one but serves the purpose.
____________________________________________
*Final Tips on Sustained Customer Satisfaction Strategy*
1. Make sure that your gifts and bonuses are
valuable.
2. Write your emails with full emotion and gratitude
for the customer to whom you are indebted for that
all important Sale. After all its because of him our
business thrives or survives.
3. COMPLETELY automate your email follow-ups
with an Autoresponder. Once you do this all that
is left will be to add your customers email ID to
your Autoresponder. List of Free Autoresponders
can be had from:
http://www.learnhomebusiness.com/freestuff/
autoresponderlists.htm
I hope you have a simple workable strategy now
that you can implement immediately.

COMPUTER TIPS - - -
-------------------------
Make a Screen Capture
Ctrl + Print Screen is the key
The Print Screen key on your keyboard it's purpose is to make
a copy of whatever is on your screen. It copies the info to the
Windows clipboard. Then you can paste into another document
that will accept it, such as Word, or a graphics program.
But what if you want to capture only the active window -- the
actual window that you may have just brought up on your
screen?
That's when you use two keys together. The Alt and the Print
Screen keys.
Hold down the Alt key. Press the Print Screen key. That's it!
You've just made a copy of the active window, placing it on
the clipboard, ready to insert wherever you want to insert it.
Try using graphics program called Paint. It comes with your
computer.
Use this skill to illustrate anything that requires a
picture.

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
Understanding Medical Terminology
A Little Bit More
PART 2 of 7
I'm speaking of those long medical terms and you, of course, may
not have any idea what they mean. You know the ones...lots of
syllables and no common sense? It's all Greek or Latin to you?
In fact it's both, but it's fairly easy to figure out if you
know how to do it. I thought it would be wise to get a real
explanation of word development from a dictionary. This comes
directly from MERRIAM-WEBSTER
http://www.merriam-webster.com/
"Main Entry: et·y·mol·o·gy
Etymology: Middle English ethimologie, from Latin etymologia,
from Greek, from etymon + -logia -logy ***1 : the history of a
linguistic form (as a word) shown by tracing its development
since its earliest recorded occurrence in the language where it
is found, by tracing its transmission from one language to
another, by analyzing it into its component parts, by
identifying its cognates in other languages, or by tracing it
and its cognates to a common ancestral form in an ancestral
language 2 : a branch of linguistics concerned with etymologies"
What this really means is that there is a reason for each "word"
and phrase to exist.
There are basically three parts to a term...sometimes four. Each
term can have a part called a prefix (used at the beginning of
the word), a suffix (used at the end of the word), and a root
word. A "root" word means it's the "foundation": the root...of
the entire meaning. A combining form is one or two letters to
help it to be pronounced or to flow better. A "combining form"
means it connects parts and is somewhere in the middle. Not
every medical term has all of these, but many do. Here is a
"garden" comparison. A sugar turnip has a root...the bulky thing
stuck in the ground or its seed. From the root, leaves shoot
upwards and little shoots go downwards. Each part has a purpose
to act out: same with a medical term. Water or soil would be a
combining form.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

In the invisible he continued on his way to Oomano's.
He remained invisible until he was two or three blocks
away. Then only, did he think he could become visible
and not be seen by anyone from the crowd.
He was again kicking stones, and enjoying the hot day.
Romano had learned early in life it was a good idea to
wear a hat in this hot land. His preferred style was the
hat of the goucho, the South American cowboy. To him
cowboys were his heros. He learned about them in the
movie theaters he used to go to when he was young.
Today the hat was serving well to keep the hot sun from
his head. It was still hot, nonetheless.
From time to time he would pass a building where he
was able to get shade. But the heat was becoming stifling.
He knew he was alright, for he set up around him a
"cool zone" in which he became comfortable. Yet he
allowed himself to feel the conditions in which the rest
of mankind must live. It allowed him to be ever conscious
of the people around him.
He arrived at the house of Miguele and Abetta, his
about to be in-laws. He went in, unannounced, as
was his custom.
The house, like all adobe houses was cool and one
could live and work in here all day without getting too
hot. "Good morning!" he said to Abetta.
She poured him a coffee. "Are those two siblings of mine
behaving themselves for you?" he asked, just making
conversation. He knew they were good kids, and over
here they loved Oomano so much they would do
anything to please her.
"Yes! They are wonderful, unlike their big brother."
she teased.
"Here, here now. That's no way for a mature woman
to talk." he laughed, "Thank you for the coffee."
"You're welcome."
He drank a few sips, not saying anything. Looking up
at Abetta he must have had a question in his eyes.
"She is out in the yard with the kids." said Abetta,
knowing his thoughts.
Romano smiled, took his coffee in hand and walked
out into the yard.
As soon as he was outside the kids saw him and came
running. He had to hold his coffee high to keep from the
kids hitting his hand, arm or cup and spilling it. "Whoa,
whoa, you guys. Don't spill my coffee. It's good to see
you guys too. Are you giving Oomano a hard time like
I asked you?" he laughed as he asked.
"No, no. She is one tough teacher." said one of the
older ones.
"Ah Ha! She is getting a reputation is she?" he smiled.
Oomano came walking up and hugged him and kissed
him, in spite of the whistles and cat calls of the kids
around them.
When she had finished, Romano pretended he was
dizzy and nearly falling over, from the kiss. The kids
laughed.
"How are you today, my sweet one?" he asked.
"I'm fine. I have been waiting for you. We must talk about
more of our wedding plans. The day is coming up real
fast." said Oomano.
"Hi Riata!" Romano waved to Riata who remained in the
shade under the roof they had built in the yard for that
purpose. She waved back.
"Yes, it is coming fast. That scares me." he said with a
gleam in his eye.
"You're sure feeling frisky today aren't you?" she poked
him in the ribs, and the chase was on.
He ran into the house, pretending to get away from his
attacker. She was right after him and grabbed his shirt.
Romano's coffee had long spilled on the ground outside.
As he passed the table he put the cup down and kept
going, dragging Oomano behind him.
When he got to the couch, she pulled hard on his collar
in that direction and took him off balance. He fell to the
couch and she fell on top of him. Her weight kept him
from moving too much, in spit of his feigned attempts
to get away.

---- Susan Ertz
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
HA! HA! HA!
Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful,
independent, self-assured princess happened upon
a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on
the shores of an unpolluted pond in a beautiful
meadow near her castle.
The frog hopped into the princess's lap and said:
"Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until
an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you,
however, and I will turn back into the young man that
I am. Then, my dear, we can marry and live in yon
castle with my mother, where you can bear my
children and serve me for the rest of your life, and
feel grateful and happy doing so."
That night, as the princess dined on sautéed frog
legs in a white wine sauce, she chuckled to herself
and thought: "I don't think so."
