What is spontaneous human combustion?
Spontaneous human combustion is the process of the
body's temperature becoming heated to the point that
the body simply bursts into flame and incinerates, without
any outside heat source setting it on fire. This
phenomenon is dismissed by most scientists as
pure myth.
What bird can fly backwards?
The hummingbird can hover and fly backwards. The
bird may be able to beat its wings more than 70 times
per second.

Here is an item of news from MediaDailyNews that might be
of interest to you.
Google Launches Desktop Search
by Shankar Gupta,
SEARCH GIANT GOOGLE Monday announced the release of
Google Desktop Search 1.0, marking the official release
of the company's desktop search product that has been
in open beta testing since October.
Users can search the files on their hard drives,
including word documents, e-mails, AOL instant
messenger chat sessions, recently viewed Web pages, and
audio, video, PDF, and photo files.
The release version incorporates a slew of new
features, including application programming interfaces
for developers who can write software plug-ins for
programs so that the desktop search will index the data
contained in saved files. So far, plug-ins have been
written to allow users to search Trillian chat files
and the full text of scanned images like faxes, among
others. The search tool can also be used to search for
deleted or lost files.
With its release, Google becomes the first of the major
search players to formally launch a desktop search
product, but Yahoo!, AskJeeves, and MSN all currently
offer beta versions of desktop search.
When it was first released in beta in October, Google
was the first among the major search companies to offer
this service. With the release of the 1.0 version,
Google has effectively beat Microsoft--along with all
the other players in search--to the punch, since
"integrated search" of both Web pages and desktop
contents is one of the major features promised for the
2006 release of Longhorn, the long-awaited new version
of the Windows operating system.
Google's desktop search also offers a "floating"
toolbar, which users can program to appear on their
desktop over Windows-based programs, allowing easier
access to the search window. Google also has revamped
some features that raised security concerns for some,
such as the indexing of password-protected files. The
desktop searcher no longer indexes such protected
files.

Bioburden: How Much Is Too Much
How Many Bugs (Micro-organisms) Create A Problem
PART 2 of 11
Because bioburden is not a very widely discussed term,
I have included some links and suggested readings at
the end of this article.
I want to cover some points: what bioburden mean.
How might it affect a healthy person. Why might it
present a problem. Why are hospitals different from
homes.
The dictionary describes it as bioburden as a
population of viable microorganisms on a product.
Another description reads: the bioburden of a
material is a measurement of the number of viable
microorganisms which grow into colonies after being
inoculated onto growth media. Medical terminology
breaks the word up into two sections: bio meaning
life and burden meaning how much of this life is
there to deal with. We are dealing with a measurement
of a group of living micro-organisms or microbes.
So we are literally looking for how much of this living
(bio) micro-organisms is present. The very fact that
these micro-organisms are actually measured, assigned a
numeric label or identity, and also noted to be alive,
suggests that a desirable outcome might either be
higher or lower number. Also if you recognize that
something is alive, the desired outcome might be to
have it dead or inactivated. Both points are precisely
why this tool is so important. This kind of study
through ongoing testing is expensive and is not done
without good reason. It is one of the ongoing
foundational tests in health care facilities. Sometimes
funding restrictions limit regular testing, but if a
problem is suspected, testing will be done very
quickly.
To use this testing information properly several other
things have to be known. Who does the studying? How
many micro-organisms there are? Do they present a
risk? Where are they? How did they get there? Did they
come from a certain area? What keeps them healthy?
What could interfere with that? Through recognized
standards of practice, most cleaning or reprocessing of
equipment is assigned to a specialized department.
However, all areas have some responsibility to maintain
the health of the facility. So we look at who does
this. The point is that if a problem exits, you want
to find the source and change the habits of the
problematic micro-organisms. Therefore you have to have
a very organized process in place. Later we will
discuss what part your own health plays in this and how
your home would relate to this understanding of the
term bioburden.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Just as Grandpa had predicted the lake was far
busier today than it had been the past couple
days. It didn't present too much in the way of
difficulty for the kids, just more waves that
knocked down sand castles and roads they were
building.
They took it in stride. They were bush kids
and there was plenty to keep them occupied. They
were strong, resourceful and curious. Those
qualities kept them busy the whole day long.
Once they both came running home screaming,
looking for help. The parents and grandparents all
came running out to see what the problem was. They
were crying, loud, as if there was something
terribly wrong. There was.
The kids had inadvertently stumbled across a
hornet's nest on the ground. They had not seen it
and stepped right on it. As it is with hornets
they struck at anything they could get to, en
mass, and nailed the kids with several stings
before they even knew what was happening. They
began running. The hornets followed. Finally,
after 200 paces they ran out of hornets.
Each of them must have been stung eight or ten
times. They were in pain and crying.
Eloise did her thing. She held her hands up
palms facing the kids. That stopped them in their
tracks. They knew what was coming.
The flash of light and energy happened so fast
they could hardly see it. The pain was gone. They
were restored to normal.
Neighbors were coming on the run. They heard
the uproar. They had heard this type of thing
before so they pretty much had a good idea what
was up. They were coming with creams, towels,
ointments and all manner of man made treatments.
By the time the neighbors arrived the ordeal
was over. They all looked at the kids and all they
could see were normal kids, without pain and
suffering. As it is with man, every time he sees
such things, they were amazed.
"What happened?" was the question spoken and
in the eyes of those who did not speak.
"Oh! The kids found a hornet's nest. Without
thinking they stepped on it. They each got eight
to ten stings. All is well now." Eloise answered
matter of factly.
Some of the neighbors looked the kids over and
could see no sign of stings. "My Mom fixed them
up." said Maz quietly and confidently. There was a
sense of trust in his voice. He knew he could come
to his Mom or Dad anytime and all would be well.
The neighbors couldn't believe it. Every time
the Henrys did such things they were amazed. They
knew about the Henrys but still it was surprising.
Alewka took the opportunity to offer coffee
for all. About four neighbors had come, and Alewka
turned it into a social function. That was enjoyed
by all.
Suddenly there was screaming and hollering
from the house next door. You could hear thumping
as people stomped the floor. More screaming, then
the distinct thud of a door being slammed. Then
all was quiet.
Everyone looked at one another. They all knew
the neighbor had been drinking again and the fight
was on. Their children came slowly down the beach,
embarrassed, frightened, lacking in any secure
self image. They were looking for someone to play
with, yet did not want to come up to the adults.
They were ashamed of their parents.
Eloise sent the silent message unto Maz and
AliAnne. "Go play with the kids. They need your
support just now."
Without even so much as goodbye the kids
headed for the beach. It only took two minutes
before they had the neighbor kids involved.
The screaming, hollering and fighting started
up again. This time it lasted longer but was shut
down by the same thud of a door slamming.
The group at the Henry's looked at one
another. One of them spoke "He's been drinking
again. This happens all the time. I feel sorry for
her and especially for the kids."
Unanimously the group nodded their heads and
murmered in agreement. They all knew the results
of alcohol beyond the social drink when someone is
visiting. Having a problem drinker in their midst
was embarrassing to all of them.
"Anyone for cookies?" Alewka was known to be
the best cookie cook in the country. Folks always
wanted her cookies. Temporarily it changed all
their thoughts from the fight to a new topic.
"Dad, does he do this often?"
"Tinkerbell, the man is a drinker. He drinks
maybe a bottle a day. I don't know where he gets
the money from, but it has been going on for
years. It must hurt the family financially, to say
nothing of the terrible harm it is doing to those
around him. He doesn't get violent physically but
he sure hurts those who love him. It will leave
scars on those people for life. And like every
other drinker he doesn't see what he is doing. He
doesn't think he drinks too much. He thinks he's
normal. The situation will go down the path most
of them go. He will end up losing his family, his
house, his job, everything. He has already lost
the respect of those around him."

THINK ABOUT THIS TODAY!
"Work with every buyer as though that person represents

---- Tom Hopkins
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
HA! HA! HA!
So it seems that these four ministers had a series of
theological arguments, and three were always in accord
against the fourth. One day, the odd pastor out, after
the usual "3 to 1, majority rules" statement that
signified that he had lost again, decided to
appeal to a higher authority.
"Oh, Lord!" he cried. "I know in my heart that I am
right and they are wrong! Please give me a sign to
prove it to them!"
It was a beautiful, sunny day. As soon as the minister
finished his prayer, a storm cloud moved across the sky
above the four. It rumbled once and dissolved. "A sign
from God! See, I'm right, I knew it!" But the other
three disagreed, pointing out that storm clouds form on
hot days.
So the pastor prayed again: "Oh, God, I need a bigger
sign to show that I am right and they are wrong. So
please, Lord, a bigger sign!"
This time four storm clouds appeared, rushed toward
each other to form one big cloud, and a bolt of
lightning slammed into a tree on a nearby hill.
"I told you I was right!" cried the minister, but his
friends insisted that nothing had happened that could
not be explained by natural causes.
The Pastor was getting ready to ask for a *very big*
sign, but just as he said, "Oh God...," the sky turned
pitch black, the earth shook, and a deep, booming voice
intoned, "HEEEEEEEE'S RIIIIIIIGHT!"
The minister put his hands on his hips, turned to the
other three, and said, "Well?!"
"So," shrugged one of the other pastors, "now it's
3 to 2."
