Adjust For The Here And Now!
A recent bride called her mother one evening in tears.
"Oh, Mom, I tried to make Grandmother's meat loaf for
dinner tonight, and it's just awful! I followed the
recipe exactly, and I know I have the recipe right because
it's the one you gave me. But it just didn't come out
right, and I'm so upset. I wanted this to be so special
for George because he loves meat loaf. What could have
gone wrong?"
Her mother replied soothingly, "Well, dear, let's go
through the recipe. You read it out loud and tell me
exactly what you did at each step, and together we'll
figure it out."
"OK," the bride sniffled. "Well, it starts out, 'Take
fifty cents worth of ground beef' ..."
Wow! I guess Grandma wrote that recipe down a few
years ago. Fifty cents worth of ground beef today,
doesn't go very far.
But there goes the problem of a lot of folk. The joke, like
all jokes, carries within it the seeds of truth.
We all must change with the times. We must all determine
where we are and what are the circumstances each day,
in each act, with every decision.
You may find the decisions you made in the past
have had that kind of effect that you must now rethink
the decision you are contemplating.
Every day things change. Those who do things the same
old way can often end up in trouble because of it.
Companies have been known to fail because of the
attitude "if it was good enough for grandpa to do it that
way, it's good enough for us to do it that way."
One of man's never ending searches, foolishly, is for
security. He thinks he finds it when he finally establishes
a habit that works for him. He gets comfortable, He makes
no changes, even to keep updated with the changes that
are going on around him. His patterns of behavior set the
scene for his downfall, unless he changes with the times.
Man has to learn that his security IS change. That as he
keeps himself attentive to what is going on he also
automatically changes to meet the new situation. It is
that change that not only gives him excitement, but
keeps him full of life.
The person who can relax, accept change, and is
prepared to change themselves to meet the new day, is
that person who has a long and glorious life. They are
the ones who are healthy, happy and prosperous. Try it.
Make no assumptions that today is like yesterday. It isn't.
Be ready for change. Anticipate change. Embrace change.

The Relationship of Oral Health to Overall
Health and Longevity

There are as many as 25 diseases of the body whose
early signs and symptoms can be seen in the oral
cavity. The early detection of any of these diseases
increases the possibility of successful treatment, and
may extend or even save lives. Some of the more serious
diseases that first show signs in the oral cavity,
lips, or tongue, include leukemia, hemophilia, Kaposi’s
sarcoma, malignant melanoma, syphilis, diabetes,
squamous cell carcinoma, myoblastoma, tuberculosis,
epilepsy, and hemangioma. My book, Tooth Fitness: Your
Guide to Healthy Teeth, includes an educational chapter
about patient oral self-examination and its importance
to dental and overall health.
Sensitivity to Dental Materials Sensitivity to dental
materials may not be a serious problem for many people.
But for those who are allergic to any one of the
hundreds of different metals, compounds, chemicals, and
products used in dentistry, these materials present a
potentially serious health hazard. If you have
allergies, regardless of their source, your health
practitioner may look at every potential source of the
allergy except for the mouth. If you he or she is
unable to track down the culprit, I recommend that you
be tested for potential allergic reaction to dental
materials. Information about this test can be found at
www.ccrlab.com, the website for Clifford Consulting and
Research.
Fluoride Although it poses a potentially serious health
hazard, the subject of fluoride is not within the scope
of this booklet. It does relate to teeth, but is not
really a dental health issue. I see it as a public
health issue, as the greatest single source of fluoride
is delivered to the individual via the municipal water
systems. Regardless of how it is delivered, fluoride is
a poison, and increasing evidence suggests it can
create, or contribute, to numerous health problems. I
also suggest asking your health professional to
evaluate you for potential fluoride toxicity when doing
a complete health assessment. This would be
particularly important if he or she can’t establish a
diagnosis that fits your symptoms. Thus those with
idiopathic diseases should take this into
consideration.

Billy and Sonora, both, worked on the hut building with
the villagers they had selected to do the job. There was
some hesitancy with the students, at first, but once the
first one was successful, then all the others did very well.
That is the way with the world. For years and years man
"knew" that no man on earth would ever be able to run faster
than the four minute mile. To the medical community and to
the media that was plainly and simply a barrier through
which no man would pass.
But there was one man who didn't believe everyone else.
He listened to himself instead. Then one day in an
internationally publicized race he ran the mile in three
minutes and fifty some seconds. The four minute mile barrier
had been smashed. Within two months there were three others
that did the same and today that barrier is no longer
considered a barrier.
Living by higher law is much the same. It is hard for
those on this side of the veil of simplicity, at least they
think so. That is the way it is until you succeed at one
thing, then other things begin to fall into place. Not only
that, but anyone around you who has been working equally
hard will suddenly be able to accomplish the same.
It is a phenomenon that is difficult to explain. Worldly
scientists proved the theory by watching monkeys. They
developed what is called the Hundred Monkey Principle. Here
is how it works:
It seems that some scientists noticed that in a certain
part of the world there were monkeys who practiced washing
their food before they ate it. It only happened in one area
of the world and nowhere else.
As an experiment they took a mating pair and placed them
on an island where there were no monkeys at all.
The next year they introduced another mating pair of the
same monkeys.
In five years there were a dozen monkeys from these two
mating pairs and all were washing their food just as they
had in their original home.
In the seventh year the scientists brought in two dozen
monkeys from another region, which monkeys did not wash
their food, and they were also in mating pairs.
As time went on the scientists observed that only the
monkeys from the original two mating pairs and their
offspring were washing their food before eating. The monkeys
brought in from the secondary source continued their habits
of eating their food without washing.
Then the phenomenon happened.
When the population finally reached over one hundred the
scientists noticed that suddenly, one day, all the monkeys
washed their food before eating it.
From that time on all the monkeys washed their food.
Billy and Sonora watched that principle manifest itself
right before their eyes. Billy manifested the first hut.
Then he worked with a student to manifest the second hut and
before he realized all the students he had selected were
doing the same. The guest village was finished fast.
That was the topic around the fire circles that night.
The students were proud of themselves in spite of Billy's
warning that it was not they who had done this, but their
Maker within them, because they followed some simple laws.
He allowed their moment of pride, but he also made a
mental note to speak to them about it. It was back-stepping
to allow personal emotions and pride to flourish when one
was only doing what was natural and that not of your own
abilities but of the law.
"The kids are progressing fast. Just look at those huts.
I'll get different kids to disperse the huts when we no
longer have use for them."
"Oh, Billy, it's wonderful. The people of this village
have really come around since you began the school. Now they
are all busy planning things for our wedding. Everyday they
come to me and ask my permission or my ideas about
something. It is good we marry, if only for them. They
haven't been this involved ever, that I can remember. And
look at the happiness, the sense of purpose, the
togetherness among them. This village has gone through a big
change."
Billy had a smile on his face that wouldn't quit. He was
always happy when his beloved Sonora was happy. "That is the
way people should be, honey. Just wait until we get most of
them into higher law."
"I know, Billy. It is just that all my life I can
remember them living in fear of black magic and other men.
Now they seem to have shed that like a snake shedding skin.
They are beginning to believe in themselves. It is a good
thing you were strong and early on the matter of the great
law. Otherwise each would want to take advantage of the
other. That is all they knew. Now they see where that harms
themselves and they refrain."
"I'm glad you're pleased, honey. I enjoy working with
them, even the adults. They are all responsive. Some of them
will not learn, but with the testimony of everyone else in
the village they at least accept. They treat me like royalty
and you, too, for that matter."
"Since you began teaching they see what I have done for
them, and what my Mother and Father have done. Before they
were afraid, but you brought it out in the open. You they
trust, and now they trust us as well. Before they thought it
was a bad thing. Now they embrace it."
"Ah, Sonora, dear. They like me maybe because I'm taking
you off their hands."
Billy started to run. He looked back and watched the
thoughts hit her, the shock on her face, then the
determination, and she was after him. They ran down hill,
laughing all the way.

troops invaded France in World War II - June 6, 1944. In

operation it was never written as a definite date but only
