Do spiders eat other spiders?
You'd think there would be enough insects out there
that spiders would leave their own kind alone. Unfortunately,
they do not. Spiders will indeed eat other spiders, even
the same kind of spider as themselves. Daddy-longleg
spiders, for instance, often take up residence in a house
(look in the cellar). Throughout most of the year, they
will focus on eating other insects and other types of spiders.
But come winter, when there isn't a lot of yummy prey
crawling about the house, they'll go after OTHER
daddy-longleg spiders.
Is August named for a Roman emperor?
Yes, August is named for Emperor Augustus Caesar. He
wasn't the first emperor to have a month named after him.
His great-uncle, Julius Caesar, had the month of July named
for him. Julius started the trend by reforming the calendar,
which badly needed reforming. Thanks to miscalculations
and arbitrary regulation, the months were beginning to drift
into the wrong seasons. January, for instance, had begun
to fall in autumn. The Roman Senate chose to name a
month after Julius to thank him for instituting the Julian
calendar. Later, the Senate also decided to honor Augustus
for defeating Marc Antony and Cleopatra and bringing
Egypt under Roman authority.
Were there any other months named for Roman emperors?
Not any that we still have. For a time, May was changed
to "Cladius," and April was "Neronius" (for Nero). But those
changes didn't last. Only July and August had staying power.

Do Angels Exist?

Have you ever seen an Angel? Angels take the form of a human
being with wings. You have undoubtedly seen a human and you
will also have seen wings and, therefore, it would be easy to
say that because humans exist and wings exist - so too do
Angels.
Well that is the kind of reasoning that many people apply to
their online sales process.
Have you seen evidence that people are selling products and
services from their web sites? Have you seen evidence that
there are real people searching for products and services
online? So, if we build a web site to sell something, people
will visit that web site and they will buy our products or
services.
Unfortunately it isn't that easy. There are many factors
involved in the online sales process and it is important to
understand them. I mean that you must understand the facts
and data, I don't mean that you should rely on rumor, opinion
and assumption.
What is the best way of getting buyers to your web site? Well
the only reliable way to find out is to find out for yourself.
Here are 3 well known strategies that you can try:
1. Invest an affordable amount in a Pay Per Click campaign
that is targeted on your keywords. Invest in enough clicks
that allow you to test alternative headlines and content and
measure the results.
2. Write maybe three classified ezine adverts. Find an ezine
that is likely to be read by your target market and run each
of your ads so that you can measure which one generates the
best response.
3. Visit the online forums that are frequented by your target
market and make contributions that help other people yet at
the same time demonstrate your credibility and expertise. Use
your signature file to promote your web site.
The key to success is to measure the response that you are
getting from each individual traffic source. The data will
help you to identify which strategies are working and which
you need to improve or even to ditch.
Similarly as you begin to get more and more traffic to your
web site, so you need to test each element to ensure that you
are converting more visitors to buyers. You need to test
alternative headlines, test alternative copy in the first
paragraph, see if you can get more sales through changes to
your testimonials, bonuses and all the other elements that
contribute to your sales conversion.
The only way to prove if something works is to collect facts
and data. Analyze that data to identify your strengths and
weaknesses and then to act upon those results to leverage
what works and to improve or eliminate what doesn't.
Angels may or may not exist - we simply won't know until
somebody collects the real facts and data that can prove it
one way or another.

1. The caregiver is NOT A SLAVE. They are a real
human being who out of their generous heart, is
caring for the client. It must be remembered also
that they have feelings and a need for respect,
nourishment, rest, etc.
2. It is important that some g round rules be
established such as frequency, types, and times
for care, and batching of activities. The client NEEDS
to maintain some sort of independence, so they
need to be encouraged to do some thing for themselves.
3. Some sort of agreement as to how requests are
made ids crucial. Respect and politeness are still
in order. I discourage bells except for specific
needs…not for general purposes. Pavlov trained
his dogs with it: we can create a lot of stress the
same way.
4. Issues related to meals and nourishments
reasonable and medical care and expectations,
privacy and entertainment activities, for both the
client and the caregiver need to be taken into
consideration. Additional help may be needed
at times.
5. Often the client is in no shape for long lectures
or dissertations, but some form of agreement
must be established.
It also has to be remembered that in many cases, children
continue to need care despite one parent maybe needing
special care. So the burden is heavy and difficult. There
needs to be discussion with a group of support health
and social service personnel that listen to both the
caregiver and the client, and give appropriate suggestions.
In fact this discussion should be ongoing and start soon
after recognizing that there are problems. One of the
more common, but unhealthy behaviors is the mood
swings that the client goes through, and the rest of the
family is expected to accept this without question. Some
types of behavior are unacceptable, no matter what the
cause. Everyone must be treated with normal politeness
and respect.

David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.

on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

Similarly, many of the kids from the orphanage knew
they would now go further afield and teach, or at least
work with men. It pleased them, that they had committed
to higher law. This was what Riata had been showing
them for years. Never again would any man be able to
take advantage of them. Not even the church, for whom
they held pity.
Yet the one who was the most surprised was Miguele.
He was aware of higher law ever since he had
attempted to hold up Eloise and David that night so
long ago, when he was desperate for money to feed
his family. Since that time Eloise had come over to the
house, cleaned it all up, left plenty of food for the family
and gave him the truck that never needed gas, or
washing, or repair, or protection. With that truck Miguele
had earned a good livelihood for his family.
Then Eloise had come one day and asked if she might
take his daughters Oomano and Riata, to show them
how to live by higher law. Miguele could hardly refuse
her for all she had done was give to the family, with no
thought of return. When the girls came home two days
later, they had already committed to living by higher law.
Life became even easier for Miguele and Abetta since
that time.
But it was hard for Miguele, at first, to accept the things
his daughters were doing. He did not understand how
they did those things. He did not know that it was right,
and there was many a time he wanted to speak out
against what they were doing. Fortunately he had his
truck as an ever present reminder he was taking
advantage of a gift that had been presented to him as
a result of higher law, so he kept quiet and watched.
Over time he learned to trust his daughters actions.
That trust is what caused him to bring home orphans he
found on the streets. Here, at home he was able to give
them love, food, clothing, shelter. It was his way of giving
back to society.
And all through the years he thought about living by
higher law, but he was always too busy. So he wrongly
drew the conclusion it was not for him, that it was a young
persons thing. He then submitted himself to the daily
routine he had established, thinking not once that he
would achieve the objective of living by higher law.
Yet here it was. With the visit of Jesus at his daughter's
wedding all present had been blessed with the knowledge
that nothing further stood in their way to living by higher law.
He needed only to decide that was what he wanted to do.
Miguele had no trouble making the decision. He had too
many friends who lived that way, and he knew what he
could do with that knowledge.
Jesus knew that all present at the wedding were exposed
to higher law, many of whom were working toward crossing
the veil. He knew, too, that all hearts present were kind,
loving, giving hearts. Removing from them any thoughts in
their minds that served as impediments to their advancement,
was a simple and pleasurable thing for him to do. He knew,
too, that all had learned the law, "As ye sow, so shall ye
reap." And he knew that many had been taught that because
of that law they must always "turn the other cheek" to those
who attacked them.
What Jesus meant by that was that anyone living by higher
law was perfectly at right to protect themselves, provided they
never, at any time meant ill toward anyone. They were to love
all men at all times under all circumstances. If they had to
protect themselves the most they could do was to act as a
shield that reflected back to an attacker what the attacker
was doing, thinking, feeling. In other words they most they
could do was to allow the attacker to feel the effects of the
law "As ye sow . . . ." immediately.
Knowing all these things Jesus was quite right to remove
all barriers to these people living by higher law.
The fire that night was a different fire. Oh! The fire was the
same, but the people had changed. Tonight this group
was a collection of people each of whom lived by higher law.
Attitudes had changed. Some had to adjust to the equality
expected of them, where, before, they had looked upon
themselves as being inferior to those who lived by higher
law. Such thinking is, of course, wrong, though natural for
men to think that way. All men have always been equal, if
they would but know it. Yet in man's world he has set up
certain "strata" that creates inequality. In man's pursuit of
control, position, riches, he insists that those around him
respect this "strata" and it is interpreted by all as inequality.
And, so, the fire was a wondrous time of brotherly love,
that togetherness of soul that happens so seldom among
men. The dominant characteristic was love, and it flowed
out into the streets and the neighborhood in ways that
allowed even the neighbors to want to be kind one to
the other.
