If The Result Is Inevitable!

Early in my flying career, I had my first night flight. Looking
down into the darkness, I asked my instructor what we
would do if the engine failed.
"Get the plane gliding in a controlled descent," he said,
"then attempt to restart the engine and make a 'Mayday'
call. The only difference between day and night flying is
that the terrain below will not be clearly visible, so you
should point the aircraft toward whatever looks like a clear
area and it should be pointing into the wind."
"Then what?" I asked.
"Conserve your battery, so don't turn on your landing
lights until you're close to the ground. If you like what
you see, land."
"Okay, but what if I don't like what I see?"
My instructor gave me a compassionate look inside that
dim cockpit, then said softly, "Turn off the landing lights."
I fly, and I'm not sure I like what I see in the joke above.
It does bring out a point, however, and that is that if
something is inevitable you might as well sit back and
enjoy it.
The meaning is that when things are going to happen,
and you cannot stop them, then relax and let them
happen. Your involvement can begin again when things
settle down.
I know some of you are saying, "How can I relax when
what is going to happen is wrong?"
You will notice I didn't say you had to pass judgment
on it so you stressed yourself into a heart attack. Just
the opposite is what I am recommending. I know you
think some things are wrong, yet you must clearly
understand that is only your opinion. There are others
who obviously think it to be right.
The whole point is that if something is going to happen,
and you can do nothing to prevent it, then LET the chips
fall where they may. You will have another day and time
to get things straight.
All of life offers times and places where these types of
circumstances come up. If you are a parent, you will find
the most difficult thing in the world is keeping quiet when
your children are raising their children. You will see them
doing lots of things you would never dream of doing, yet
you must remain silent. Your job at this point is to deliver
love, nothing else. So let your kids do as they might. Just
love your grandchildren, and show it.
Another time and place where things might happen that
you don't like is on the job, when you are beginning to
entrust a new employee with certain tasks. You can always
coach them, work with them before and after a task, but if
you picked the employee, you picked them because you
thought they could do a task. Once you turn them loose to
do it, stay out of their way. If they do something wrong you
can discuss it later, not in public while they are doing it.
There are lots of times when you must consider the
serenity prayer. “God grant me serenity to accept the
things I cannot change, Courage to change the things
I can, and Wisdom to Know the difference.”

The nice little trick that Windows can do by automatically running
a CD that you insert can be helpful. You can toggle this option
on and off. Go to 'My Computers,' right-click, and select properties.
Then select the Device Manager tab. Next click the + symbol
next to the CD ROM picture and right-click the CD ROM driver
and select Properties. Now you can select the 'Settings' tab and
change the Auto-run.

The Ins And Outs of Breathing
Every breath you take is vital to your survival
(This is not just discussion of the obvious - look!)
PART 2 of 10
Just like our highway system, your respiratory system has
built-in correction and protections: barriers and supports.
We'll look at these and how they keep you breathing comfortably.
I'd like to have you join me on a journey through your body via
a big "breath of air".
First I'd like to tell you about the "road' itself (anatomy) and
then how it carries this breath of air to its final destination
(physiology/function). And along the way, we'll talk about the
normal aging process and take a couple of detours to discuss
what happens when the path isn't too smooth and how you might
then consider doing a few things differently.
I wrote about the term "rebound" a while ago, but I find many
people don't know about it, and it seems the right place to
mention it again. So that will be "revisited".
It's easier if we follow one big breath from its entrance into
your body to its final destination into any cell...
Anatomically, in a normal, healthy body, a breath of air enters
your nose (not your mouth). It swirls through your sinuses to
the pharynx (throat), through the larynx (voice box), through
trachea (windpipe), spreads into the bronchus (the main one) the
bronchi (main branches) and ends in tiny sacs called alveoli at
the base of your lungs. The pharynx, larynx, trachea, and
bronchi are basically hollow tubes; they are kept open by groups
of circular coils. The lungs, sinuses, and alveoli are special
tissue.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Just as they sat down on the river bank and were
about to enjoy the day some more, they looked up
rivier to see four canoes coming.
Quickly Oomano jumped up and ran to the hut, to
get completely dressed. Romano did too, though
much more casually.
By the time they each got back to the river's edge
the canoes were along side their spot.
There was much yelling, in greeting, waving and
smiles, but the canoeists continued on their way.
They were on a trade mission and stopping at
unscheduled spots was not on their agenda.
But the two lovers snickered and laughed to
themselves as they thought about the situation.
"Why didn't we just render ourselves invisible?"
Romano asked.
"Instinct I guess." she laughed, then took a poke
at him.
That started things all over again. He was up and
was going to grab her, but she slithered away,
like a snake and was up and running before he knew
it.
That was okay, he let her run, then quickly
materialized in front of her, scaring her.
She turned and ran another way, and he
materialized again. She laughed "That's not
fair!", and ran away again.
This time he materialized in front of her quite
prepared to grab her, but she fooled him. When he
appeared, she just jumped way up over his head and
back down again way behind him. He was stunned.
There he was grabbing for her and she wasn't
there.
By the time he looked she was laughing as hard as
a person can laugh. Pointing to him and laughing
some more started him on the run.
She was so puffed out from running and laughing
she could hardly move. He caught her easy. "Having
fun with me are you?" he said.
"Why not?" she laughed, "You were having fun with
me!"
"That I was, my dear. That I was. But you sure
fooled me that time."
"You should have seen the look on your face!" she
laughed some more and took off running again.
"Wha - whoa there you little filly." he reached
for her again and she had vanished.
Instantly going into concentration he found her.
"You know you can't hide from me. I'll get you!"
he said, and was on her like a flash.
The pair of them laughed and rolled in the grass
until, finally they settled down to more love
making.
"You know we are going to have to stop this some
time. We can't live like this forever." she said.
"Oh yes we can, unless you get tired on me." he
said.
"Never, never." she snuggled up in his arms. "You
look after me too good."
And, so, the days passed. Every day was
rollicking, fun and pure enjoyment. So much so
that Oomano was feeling guilty leaving all the
kids with her sister. Then she remembered they had
all graduated to higher law, and, now, would need
no one.
"I keep missing the kids." she said to Romano.
"I know, but let's stay here just a few more days.
We'll let the wedding guests settle in back at
their homes and then we'll go visit. How's that?"
he asked.
"That'd be cool, dude." she punched him again.
"Easy now young lady. You know what happened the
last time you did that." he laughed.
"Maybe thats why I did it!" she laughed back.

IMPREGNABLE ....... A woman whose memory of
labor is still vivid

A guy was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a
very dark night and in the middle of a storm. The
night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm
was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead
of him.
Suddenly he saw a car coming toward him and stop.
Without thinking about it, the guy got into the back
seat, closed the door and then realized there was
nobody behind the wheel! The car starts slowly; the
guy looks at the road and sees a curve coming his
way. Scared, he starts to pray begging for his life. He
hasn't come out of shock, when just before he hits the
curve, a hand appears through the window and moves
the wheel. The guy, paralyzed in terror, watched how
the hand appears every time right before a curve.
Gathering his strength, the guy jumps out of the car
and runs to the nearest town. Wet and in shock, he
goes to a restaurant and starts telling everybody
about the horrible experience he went through.
A silence enveloped everybody when they realize
the guy was serious.
About half an hour later, two guys walked in the same
restaurant. They looked around for a table when one
said to the other, "Look John, that's the dummy who
got in the car when we were pushing it."
