Can you really get warts from touching frogs or toads?

Nope, that's pure myth. Viruses cause warts and
touching frogs or toads has nothing to do with it!

What are the Seven Natural Wonders of the World?

We covered the Seven Wonders of the World last month,
but the Seven NATURAL Wonders of the World are less
definitive. You'll get different answers from different
sources, but the most commonly cited wonders are these:
Mount Everest (Nepal), Grand Canyon (US),
Niagra Falls (US and Canada), Victoria Falls (Zambia, Zimbabwe),
Yosemite Valley (US), Nile River (Egypt),
Harbor of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Great Barrier Reef (Australia),
Ayers Rock (Australia), Matterhorn (Switzerland),
Rainbow Bridge National Monument (US),
Paracutin Volcano (Mexico), Bay of Fundy (Canada),
Mount Fugi (Japan), Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania),
Krakatoa Island (Indonesia), Iguassu Falls (Brazil, Argentina),
and the Northern Lights.

Seniors Web Usage!

As is our pattern, we use this column to bring you news
of what is happening around the net. This article is taken
directly from eMarketer Daily for May 21/04 and can be
viewed complete with graphs if you go to

Seniors Will Increasingly Turn to Web For Health Info
May 21, 2004

About 5.5 million seniors in the US surf the Internet for
health information, but eight times as many future
seniors, those people between the ages of 45 and 65,
are searching the Web for such information, according
to analysis by Manhattan Research.

Over 3,600 US adults were surveyed over the phone.
Manhattan Research spoke with people ages 45 and
older, and broke the respondents into three groups:
core baby boomers (ages 45 to 54), pre-seniors
(ages 55 to 64), and seniors (65 and over); in addition,
those 45 to 64 are called "future seniors."

The firm's findings indicate that while some current
seniors are embracing the Web as a way to find health
information, there will likely be many more in
15 to 20 years. Over 40 million people ages 45-64
surfed for health information, and there's little reason
to believe that they won't continue to do so as they age.
Clearly there's an age divide in terms of health-related
Web usage, mirroring trends in online banking, online
travel booking and overall Web usage.

In terms of overall online presence, about one-half of
pre-seniors are online, compared to only about one-fifth
of seniors. Breaking down the seniors group even more,
Manhattan Research finds the tie between age and
usage is even clearer, with one-fourth of those between
65 and 74 using the Net for any purpose, compared to
10% of those over the age of 75.

These trends obviously bode well for many in the
healthcare industry, from healthcare Web sites looking
for more revenue streams to providers hoping to cut
costs by having customers find the information they
need online rather than over the phone.

-----------END eMARKETER EXCERPT

As usual, the net keeps getting more and more into
being used by everyone. As time and life goes by we
will soon be in an era where everyone will be using it.

Who knows what technical changes will be coming
our way? I wonder if those who live after us will have as
big changes to go through as we did. Even getting used
to computers was a big chore for some of us. In fact I
can still find people here and there who have no
knowledge of using a computer.

Yet the trend is inexorable, inevitable. Businesses not
using the internet as part of an overall strategy will go
by the wayside, as more and more folks go to the
internet to find what they want.

Windows 98

If you do not have any sort of disk cleaning utilities such as
Norton Clean Sweep, then Windows 98 has a built-in function
called 'Disk Cleanup,' which can eliminate unneeded files
from your hard drive. To run it, click on the Programs menu,
then select Accessories and then System Tools. The Disk
Cleanup program can then be run and will determine which
files it thinks it can delete. Always keep backups of important files.

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -

The Ins And Outs of Breathing
Every breath you take is vital to your survival
(This is not just discussion of the obvious - look!)
PART 3 of 10

The function of the entire breathing apparatus is to provide
ENERGY to each and EVERY cell of your body with and to
REMOVE all waste material i.e. carbon dioxide (CO2) gases.
In between these two entry and exit points, many things
happen, depending on your level of fitness.

When your breathing is adequate, as in "normal: or in "health",
all the related parts of your respiratory system carry the
"breath" of oxygen/air (O2) to the lungs where it is exchanged
(traded) for carbon dioxide (CO2). Oxygen is then whisked away
via your bloodstream to cells in your body to help in the
production of energy. Carbon dioxide is collected from the cells
via the blood stream and transported back to the lungs.
Eventually it has to be eliminated from your body because it is
a waste product.

As long as each part of the system is healthy, certain
activities happen until the air or breath reaches the end of the
line at your lung's alveoli. Your bloodstream plays an
irreplaceable role in this exchange of energy and waste gas.
Each activity is dependent on the previous one. Ultimately the
survival and growth of every single cell in your body is
dependant on every breath you take.

Let's follow that breath of air. "Inspiration" is defined as
drawing air into the lungs. You take a breath and it enters your
nose (not your mouth). This incoming air is warmed, moistened,
and filtered.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.

Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.

The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.

The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

When Susan Miles, the Henry's next door neighbor,
got home from the wedding she was shocked.

She had travelled by herself, instantly, knew she
could do it and was very pleased. However, while
she had been away, someone had broken into the
house and made a terrible mess.

She did not know what to do. The kitchen was torn
apart. Utensils and glasses all over the floor,
cupboard doors open and sugar, flour and cereal
spilled all over the place.

The fridge door was open and milk and water had
been poured on the floor, and was now dry.

Her favorite collection of miniature figurines had
been smashed, the dining room hutch opened and her
fine china thrown about the house as if it was
great fun.

In her bedroom her clothes had been thrown and
strewn about. Her undergarments were spread all
over the room, the mirror on her make up dresser
was smashed, and the taps in the half bath next to
her bedroom were still running, as was the toilet.

She wanted to sit down and cry, which is what she
did when she got back to the kitchen and cleared
off one of the kitchen chairs.

She began to think. Her first reaction was to
phone the police. However, she knew they could do
nothing about this mess, would likely make more
mess themselves and would certainly delay the
clean up.

Had this been the Susan Miles before she had
attended the wedding she would have felt violated.
Her privacy had been attacked.

Now, however, she realized the poor soul or souls
that did this would have a long and difficult
life. One way or another they would have to
answer for their ignorance of the law.

No, Susan decided she would clean it up all by
herself. She no longer felt "attached" to this
stuff, as she once had. She needed it no more.

So, she went about the house and area by area she
envisioned everything as being put back where it
was, and in a perfect state of organization and
cleanliness, just as she had left it.

Before long the place was a neat as could be and
clean as the day she left.

She sat down now and had a coffee. She felt many
emotions in her heart. The first and most
important was that she felt ever so thankful she
now lived by higher law. Heretofore she would have
been nearly hysterical at the mess, the break in
and the possible loss of what she then would have
thought of as valuable.

Today, though she had cried, she was calm. She
cried more for mankind, and who she used to be,
than for the mess and loss.

The next thing she felt was a sense of sorrow for
the person or persons who did this. She now knew
the law "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." She knew
full well their lives were in for a long and rocky
road.

The next thing she felt was a sense of perfect
safety and peace. She knew she could look after
herself in any set of circumstances, having been
shown how, by Riata, and her personal safety was
not a concern.

Then she felt relief. Relief because she was no
longer "attached" to these things. They no longer
represented her life. Other, more important,
things occupied her attention these days. She was
fully able to restore broken windows and mirrors,
broken doorways and doors, locks, plumbing and all
that had been vandalized.

Susan went inside herself and said "Thank you."

Then she walked outside and over to the Henry's.

As was her style, she knocked on the door and then
entered without waiting to be invited. Sam and
Alewka were sitting at the kitchen table. The boys
had all gone out somewhere.

A young minister was filling in for Norman Vincent Peal
at Marblegate Cathedral. Ascending the pulpit he looked
at the magnificent colored glass windows and told the
congregation: "You know, these beautiful windows remind
me of your pastor and his sermons. I'm afraid that I will
be like that piece of cardboard in that broken window
over there by comparison." After he had finished, (and
he did a very good job), he said farewell to the people
leaving.

One little old lady warmly shook his hand and gazing
fondly up at him gushed: "Oh Pastor, you weren't just a
piece of cardboard, you were a real pane!"
