The Laws Of Life!

The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen
and stupidity.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you!
Money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes misery easier
to live with.
Psychiatrists say that 1 of 4 people is mentally ill.
Check three friends. If they're OK, you're it!
The trouble with doing something right the first time is
that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.
TJ's Law: You can't fall off the floor.
The average woman would rather have beauty than brains
because the average man can see better than he can think. ;-)
Law of Probability Dispersal: Remember that whatever it is
that hits the fan will not be evenly distributed!
Ahh! How true to life some of those laws are. Yet one
thing every person should realize, hopefully before age
twenty, is that life is governed by law.
That's right. As you read thePEBBLE for the years it has
been in publication, eight or more, our main theme all
along has been that life is governed by law and the sooner
you learn the law the sooner you will realize the success
you are after.
Often we speak of persistence, of visualization, of
determination, and of the law "As ye sow, so shall ye reap."
We tell you, too, to read your goals and objectives every
day, for only in that way will you bring them into manifestation.
We encourage you to "keep on keepin' on" and never,
never, never quit. How many times have I spoken of failure
being necessary to succeed? It is an absolute must, for
without it you will not reach your target.
And the list goes on. The point, here, is that life will give
you exactly what you ask for. If you know and understand
the laws, life will give you ultimate success. If you do not
know and practice the laws then life will take you from
one mess to another without you enjoying the order,
harmony and balance that is yours. Success will elude
you like trying to hold a moonbeam.
Learn the laws. Learn how to apply them. Learn how
they will affect your journey to success and you will be
successful. Interesting enough, that's the law.

Make backups of any important documents, spreadsheets,
and databases.
Export your email to a file and store it somewhere safe.
Get a removable disk system such as Iomega Zip Drive to

Write down all of your email and modem settings.
Prepare for the WORST and expect the best.
Remember, upgrading application software with large suites
such as Office can potentially cause problems.

The Ins And Outs of Breathing

There are many types of allergies. They include allergic
rhinitis (hay fever), atopic dermatitis, anaphylaxis, hives, and
blood transfusion reactions. For our purposes, we'll stick with
the respiratory ones, but I want you to recognize that this
protection is available to you naturally throughout your body.
It then follows that if the lung "tubes" or passages or pathways
(bronchus and or bronchioles) are not working properly for
whatever reason, a reduced amount of energy (O2) will reach its
cell destination. And that translates into tiredness and maybe
shortness of breath. If you follow this line of thinking, you
will understand how quickly the diameter and the capacity of
this "compromised" airway can lead to problems.
Whatever the cause, several outcomes can happen in or to the
passageways. The airways can go into spasm. The entire passage
can be blocked. Or it can irritate the lining so much that it
simply can't protect you and now produces a lot of fluids. This
is its effort to "wash out the irritants". And the continuing
narrowing of the airways as they get closer to the exchange site
may then lead to a very tight feeling in the chest, shortness of
breath, and wheezing. This requires immediate hospital care and
you would most likely be given an anti-inflammatory medication
to reduce this swelling. This is all part of the immune system:
the body's natural protection for you.
For short-term situations, if the invaders are quickly cleared
out, everything settles down. But the long-term "use" of this
inflammatory response can result in injury to the cells in the
layer under the cilia. This in turn can lead to chronic
inflammation that can cause significant damage to the lung
tissue and eventually impairs the overall lung function. Current
research favors the concept that oxidative stress results from
these pollutants (free radicals) and its ongoing attempt to
overcome this chronic inflammation. It is felt that this is
behind most of our lung diseases like asthma, chronic
obstructive lung disease, and even lung cancer.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

Yawning, stretching, and rubbing the sleep out of
their eyes the two women awakened real early in
the morning.
The sun was just coming up. It was about four
thirty in the early morning. They were awakened by
the unfamiliar sounds of birds sounding out their
morning songs.
That was okay, for they felt they could always
find a place to rest later in the day.
The city, for the most part was still quiet. The
girls felt it would be a good time to continue
their walk north and westbound out of the city.
The place was a large place it might take them
more than a day to cross the city, get out of the
environs and into what they might call a rural
setting.
They could travel instantly, of course, but doing
so would not accomplish what they wanted to do.
They wanted to meet people, mingle among them,
and generally get the "feel" of every place they
were, so they walked instead, having no time
restrictions on them.
By the time the city woke up they had walked
nearly twenty miles. Once the city was on the
move, however, their progress was slowed by people
moving everywhere.
"I don't think I have ever seen so many bicycles."
said Susan.
"Lot's of them aren't there?" replied Mae, "Let's
find a place to eat."
They proceeded to look for a place to eat and
within the hour they were sitting on the curb
outside a restaurant, eating.
The restaurant was not like you would find in the
States. It was a dark, dingy, almost hole in the
wall. They walked in because of the smell of food.
The place had only a hot stove, a counter that
served as a food preparation table as well as a
"front counter" across which to serve clientelle.
The only person in the place was a man who took
their order, cooked it and gave it to them on
lotus leaf plates. There were no beverage
containers, no utensils, no napkins.
The ladies took their food, paid for it, and went
and sat on the curb to eat. It was a novel yet
much to be repeated experience. The food tasted
great and both were energized from consuming it.
When done, there was no place to put their
garbage, although there was much strewn about the
street. They decided to make it vanish by
disolving it into thin air.
This area they were in was not as crowded as the
place they appeared yesterday. Yet it was still a
busy day.
They proceeded in their general north and westerly
direction, having no idea where they were going.
It did not matter that they knew not the terrain,
the roadways, or the routes. They merely wanted to
walk the length and breadth of China.
Already the day had proven to be interesting. The
morning traffic was made up of cars, trucks,
busses, ox carts, wagons pushed by people, a
zillion bicycles, and even more people walking.
Everyone was busy making their way to work or
otherwise living out this day much the same as
anyone in the world starts their day. All were
happy and moving with purpose.
People were dressed in all manner of styles. Some
were "dressed up". Others were dressed in a style
the girls felt were "casual", while others were
clearly dressed in dirty clothes that would get
even dirtier today. These people, they felt, were
people who worked in factories, blacksmith shops,
or other places where it was impossible to keep
clothes clean.
Everywhere they went they were greeted with
smiles, and head bowing. For the most part the
ladies were moving against the general flow. The
people were mostly moving into the city. Very few
vehicles and people were moving out of the city at
this time of day.
