See With Your Mind's Eye!

Michael was an extremely avid golfer with a cynical
attitude and arrogance, that when he passed away,
few people shed a tear. Michael approached the
Pearly Gates where St. Peter was waiting for him.
Rather than pass through the gates as normal
people had done, Michael stopped to ask a question.
"Before I agree to come in, I want to know exactly
what kind of golf course you have here" he said
to St. Peter.
"That shouldn't matter to you." said St. Peter.
"But it does. And then in his arrogant manner
exclaimed "Well if I can't see it, then I'm not
coming in!"
"Very well Michael. As you wish...look through the
gates." He looked and saw the poorest, most rundown,
excuse for a golf course that it made him sick to his
stomach.
"Forget it. There is no way I'm going to spend eternity
playing on that course!"
Just then, Michael heard the Devil calling him over
the gate. "Come over here and see what I have to
offer." Michael peers through the gate and he is
elated! There is the most absolutely fabulous golf
course he has ever seen! He turns to the Devil and
says "I want to play THAT course!"
"Ok. Step on through and it's yours forever."
St. Peter pleaded with Michael as he headed off
with the Devil and the gates closed behind him.
Michael walked up to the first tee and said "I can't wait
to play! Where are my clubs and ball? The Devil
roared with laughter. "Oh, there aren't any."
There are times in life when it is important to see
into the future. It is necessary to "forecast" what
might happen next.
The difficulty we have with emotions is they color
our judgment, most often wrongly. If you have an
ego that won't let go, I feel sorry for you. Had the
golfer taken the time to consider who he was
speaking with, and what he knew of their
reputations he might well have chosen differently.
However, he had an ego that got in his way and
he will pay the price for his decision.
Too often that happens in life. Too many times
we fail to listen to that little voice within that will
warn us of impending danger. Too many times we
barge ahead in the mistaken belief we are invincible,
or can handle anything.
When you lead with a false confidence sponsored
by your emotions you are asking for trouble, and
will most often get it.
Learn to be calm, to look at the world through your
"mind's eye". Learn to listen to that small voice
within. It will ALWAYS steer you right.
Learn to look beyond what you see, to anticipate
the results of decisions before you take them. Doing
so will have you reaching your goals sooner, and
with much less difficulty. Learn to - - -

Notepad Word Wrap
Notepad has an option in it that allows you to have words wrap
to the next line if you begin typing too far over. One little quirk
is that when you're printing, regardless of the word wrap setting,
Windows and the printer will automatically wrap printed text for
you based on the margins of the printer. You can change
these margins, if necessary, from the Page Setup menu located
within the File menu of Notepad.

The Ins And Outs of Breathing

Can you see how one thing influences the next and the next one
as well? But there is more...
This chronic inflammation in the lung causes significant fatigue
and a depleted immune system in those who struggle with asthma.
(Asthma is an inflammatory disorder of the airways,
characterized by periodic attacks of wheezing, shortness of
breath, chest tightness, and coughing.)
Whether the immune system is fighting a chronic infection or
whether it is fighting pollutants in the air, the inflammation
created by both of these conditions wears it down. If you know
any children with asthma, you will recognize that they seem to
having many infections and always seem to be tired.
Your body can handle small amounts of free radicals, but if they
persist in larger numbers for a longer period of time, it can
lead to oxidative stress. All this unpleasant inconvenience of
being sick or not being able to breathe properly leads people to
do a lot of self-medication. And that is where you need to
understand how "rebound" affects your system. This happens when
you use a nasal spray or drops more the three times a day for
more than three days in a row. It will shrink the mucous
membrane, but when you finish using the medication, the
membranes will swell up more than their original size. Please
check with your pharmacist, but also be very cautious. The
condition is very real, but in doing research about it, I found
little available information.
Air pollutants cause a tremendous amount of oxidative stress in
the respiratory tract and in turn, the body. When you add the
most severe cause of oxidative stress to the body--cigarette
smoking, the nasal passageways and lungs are literally under
attack. Respiratory tract infections or exposure to airborne
pollutants have so many free radicals that they can overwhelm
the local anti-bacteria, anti-viral, and antioxidant systems.
When this happens, there is a tremendous inflammatory-immune
response. The fluids in the lining of the lungs become very
thick and sticky.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

The ladies kept walking. They noticed a stiffness
within them from yesterdays walking. It was worse
when they first arose. But now the stiffness was
leaving. They were feeling not too bad. They both
knew that by the end of their first week in China
they would be more accustomed to the climate, the
environment, the people, and the continual
walking. They would both be well exercised and
their bodies would now be used to it.
Wherever they looked and walked the city was a
blaze of color, noise and people. Unlike a lot of
places in the States, this city had narrow streets
and crowded conditions. Yet it all had a special
appeal.
They walked and walked. By the time noon came
around they had come into an area where the city
was thinning out. There were no more tall
buildings and many of the houses and other
buildings were showing signs of makeshift repair.
Maintenance was not a strong point here. It was
done only to prevent problems, such as rain
getting through a roof or window.
The weather was warm, humid and sticky. So when
the winds blew they mostly were welcome for they
brought coolness with them. However when monsoons
came there was entirely too much water and holes
and windows needed covering up.
Paint on some buildings was non existent, and on
others it appeared as if they were painted from
the remainders left in many different colored cans
of paint.
Kids and dogs were everywhere. Most of them looked
like the dirty little urchins you might see in a
presentation by a missionary at a church in the
States when he was asking for more money.
In truth, all of China is "dirty". It comes from
having worked the soil steadily for well over
seven thousand years, without a break. The
texture of the soil was like that of the most
finely ground flour you can get.
So the street kids were not dirty because they
were poor or without food, clothing or shelter.
They were dirty because they were doing the things
kids all over the world do - play. That is their
job.
The two ladies looked at themselves. They, too,
were dirty. They took steps immediately to clean
themselves up. Concentrating, they saw themselves
as being of clean skin, person, clothes and
countenance.
Yet with every step they took they would raise up
little clouds of dust. It was eveywhere. It made
it hard for anyone to stay clean. It was just
something they would have to get used to.
Again, they were hungry, and again, they began
looking for a place to eat. They were now getting
out into the environs of the city. There were few
businesses out here and even fewer places to eat.
They kept on walking. It took another hour before
they found a place where they could buy some food.
It was a marketplace, much smaller than the one
where they were yesterday. There were not as many
people, or services, but they did find a place to
eat. This place offered tables at which to eat,
placed outside the place where you actually bought
the food. It was nice.
Mae and Susan sat at the table eating a vegetable
dish with some flat bread. They had been given no
utensils. The food was delicious and the pair of
them were interested in watching the ever changing
panorama before them.
The market place was becoming busy again, with
people returning from a meal.
"I'm still hungry, Susan. I'm going in to get some
more food. How about you?" asked Mae.
"I'm fine for now, although who knows when we will
see a place to eat again. We don't know what lies
ahead. I'll think about it." replied Susan.
Mae went back into the restaurant and this time
came out with two bowls, one filled with meat and
vegetables, and the other filled with rice. This
time they had given her chopsticks. Mae had never
used chopsticks before.
