Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
_______________
Be Careful What You Speak!
A small town prosecuting attorney called his first
witness to the standin a trial -- a grandmotherly,
elderly woman. He approached her and asked, "Mrs.
Jones, do you know me?"
She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you Mr. Williams.
I've known you since you were a young boy. And frankly,
you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you
cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk
about them behind their backs. You think you're a
rising big shot when you haven't the brains to realize
you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit
paper pusher. Yes, I know you."
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do he
pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Williams, do
you know the defense attorney?"
She again replied, "Why, yes I do. I've known Mr.
Bradley since he was a youngster, too. I used to
babysit him for his parents. And he, too, has been a
real disappointment to me. He's lazy, bigoted, he has a
drinking problem. The man can't build a normal
relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of
the shoddiest in the entire state. Yes, I know him."
At this point, the judge rapped the courtroom to
silence and called both counselors to the bench. In a
very quiet voice, he said with menace, "If either of
you asks her if she knows me, you'll be jailed for
contempt!"
Boy! Sometimes when you ask questions you get answers
you don't want.
The same is true in our own lives, too.
Sometimes we ask questions deep inside and we get
answers we do not want and we come away wondering. All
too often we think "Oh, that must be my destiny." or
"That must be foreordained."
No such thing, my friends. The idea of "destiny" or
"foreordained" is given to us by those who fail to
understand, teach and use the higher spiritual laws.
Too often these things are used to maintain control
over you rather than the teacher learn the real truth.
The answers you get are a result of the seeds you have
sown. The all encompassing law "As ye give, so shall ye
reap . ." covers all things, at all times, in all
places.
And so the words that come out of your mouth on a daily
basis determine your condition. What you give (speak)
is what you get (conditions).
Too many of us do not understand that when you speak
you are using critical senses. You are doing some
thinking. When you speak you have, in your mind, made a
decision that what you are saying is right. You use
your mouth, lips and tongue. You make noise that comes
out of your mouth lands on your ears and you accept it
without question.
All these things reflect an attitude that is contained
within you of your own making. Everything you speak
simply goes further to cement that attitude more firmly
into your psyche.
Few there are who understand the power of the spoken
word.
It is true that what you say - you get! If you were as
well developed in your understanding of spiritual laws
you would be like Jesus and, with the spoken word turn
water into wine, or heal. While there are those who do
this today few understand the power is contained within
each of us. Most of us, not understanding, simply
continue with our lives as if we are victims when, in
fact, it is our own thinking and speaking that keeps us
tied to what we are and have.
What you say is what you get.

A Few Thoughts To Share On Hormones
And Their Actions
PART 3 of 22
Before I go any further, I need to make sure you dont
use this information for anything more than just
learning a little more about your hormones. Please
dont start diagnosing or treating yourself. These are
chemicals and when they are imbalanced, they will
affect all of your body. Your body craves balance. This
information is written to help you learn about your
body, but just for interest: not to do more. It will
help you to understand your body and its interactions,
and will help you to ask better questions, should you
need medical support.
You will quickly recognize some of the major health
conditions as you read about these hormones. The
presence of these conditions is all to do with a lack
of balance or chemical interactions. I am sure that
this little knowledge and your interest will not make
you an expert. If you have any concerns, please contact
your primary care health care professional. However, as
endocrinology is a specialty with sub-specialties, you
will most likely be sent to a clinical specialist. Im
sure you have heard that many health care students in
their medical studies have contracted all sorts of
diseases. What they studied, they had. You might feel
the same. You probably do not anything remotely
similar. So dont imagine the worst. Just read for
interest.
Lets go back to the blood stream and hormones being
transported to their target area. I need to digress
once more here. I deal so very frequently with blood
pressure situations: high, low, or normal. I want to
make you aware how important normal blood pressure is.
Blood distributes everything throughout your body and
if the pressure is too high or too low, it changes when
the items reach their destination. Normal blood
pressure is around

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

Mae and Susan just stood there. They watched
until the two riders could hardly be seen on the
horizon. There went a lot of precious memories.
Looking at each other they made the mutual
decision to return to Lhasa. The day was young and
the city was just getting into full motion.
The two women looked up the monk Mae had been
working with. He had found the monk Susan worked
with and the pair of them had become accomplished.
There was an instant bond between all of them.
There was no longer the need for the monks to bow
for now they knew and recognized what was
happening. There was only the mutual love and
understanding of souls that accompanied living by
higher law.
Mae and Sue knew their work in this land was
done. They decided there and then to begin their
trip south. Bidding good bye to their friends they
took up their staves and began walking.
Lhasa was not so large that it took a long
time to walk through. In fact it was longer east
and west than it was north and south and the girls
had to travel south. They knew not the route but
this particular route was that well traveled that
all they had to do was follow it.
There were many more travelers on this route
than the northerly route that led into mainland
China. And this route was a road that could be
traveled by vehicles so they had no difficulty
negotiating their way to India.
The trip took three days walking from Lhasa to
the China/India border post. They had no
difficulty at the border, either leaving China or
entering India.
The land was becoming lower in elevation and
flatter as they were leaving the mountains. The
grasses were green for miles and trees were again
tall, green and beautiful.
As they traveled south there were a lot of
things different here than in China. For one thing
the temperature was much warmer than they had
experienced for a long time. The people dressed in
a manner that had them completely clothed in
loosed fitting cotton that both prevented the sun
from reaching their bodies and provided
ventilation.
The people here were more dark than the
Chinese. It seemed a natural evolution condition
brought on by years and years in the hot sun and
warmer climate. The further south the ladies
traveled the more people they saw.
Many people were turbaned. Some because of
religion and others because of custom. Head
covering was important in this land.
As they neared civilization they noticed that
some trees were nearly leafless, but full of
vultures. The birds were the same color as the
grey of the seemingly barkless trees they were
perched in. The site was not altogether a pretty
one. Nonetheless these birds were vital to the
health of a region as they cleaned up all carrion
before it could spread disease. So even the ugly
played a beautiful role.
Death in this land could occur because of
thirst. Water was not in abundance except during
the rainy season, or near lakes or rivers.
Not far into India they were on paved roads,
one of which led to the Amritsar, home of the
Golden Temple and center of the Sikh religion. Mae
and Susan decided to take it.
Amritsar was still cool in the winter. Yet it
could be hot in the summer and wet during the
monsoons. It was on a high plateau.
The walk took the ladies four days to travel,
all the while they were passed by or were passing
wagons pulled by water buffalo, camel or elephant,
many pedestrians and many bicycles. There were
also plenty of trucks and cars. This area was busy
with travelers for as many reasons as there were
people. One reason that was common to many was
that of a pilgrimage to the Golden Temple. It was
a religious trip.
Mae and Susan knew that here, too, religious
leaders were concerned with control of the people
rather than a zealous pursuit of truth, and as a
result there was the typical hierarchy and
organization it spawned. In this part of the world
it was clear that none within this religion were
masters for when things did not go their way, they
resorted to using modern weapons to get what they
wanted.
As they traveled through India Mae and Susan
reflected on India's reputation as being the
country where it was ruled by many nations but
never conquered. It is true. India has been ruled
by the Mongols, the English and many others over
the centuries but they have never changed the
beliefs, the concepts or the behavior of the
people of this land.

HA! HA! HA!
A three-year-old opened the birthday gift from his
grandmother and discovered it was a water pistol. He
squealed with delight and headed for the nearest sink.
His mother was not so pleased. She turned to her mother
and said, "I'm surprised at you, Mother! Don't you
remember how we used to drive you crazy with water
guns?"
The grandmother smiled sweetly and replied, "I
remember."
