Get Caught?
A British clergyman struggled along with a small congregation
in a small neighborhood. A commercial firm offered to supply
free hymn books, provided they could insert a bit of discreet
advertising into the hymnals. The pastor was reluctant but
finally agreed.
When the hymnals arrived, he eagerly examined them and
was delighted to find no brash advertisements on or inside
the covers. The next Sunday, his flock began to sing from the
hymnals. All went well until the third song, in which the
congregation lifted their voices in unison to the melodious
notes of:
Hark the herald angels sing,
Hanson's pills are just the thing;
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
Two for men and one for child.
It happens every time. It does not matter how well you disguise
a lie, or lack of integrity, it will always be found out. Few people,
especially the younger set, realize this.
What they fail to realize is that honor and integrity are built in
to the human psyche. When he/she veers off course he/she feels
uncomfortable. That discomfort is broadcast. Perceptive
individuals around can pick that up.
Yes, I know that through life there are those who have trained
themselves to be quite comfortable with lying, stealing, cheating.
Yet, in truth, those are the ones who broadcast it the most and
are the most readily identifiable before the deed.
The ones you must be wary about, you know, caveat emptor,
are the ones who offer one thing to get your attention and money,
but really end up selling or delivering something else. Those
are the ones who, eventually get caught.
Moreover, they catch themselves. While they may do well for
a short while, life is hard for the deceiver. They can never
mount a wholly successful campaign, a sustainable plan,
long term goals nor the security of achieving them, because
they get caught.
Far be it from me to stand on a moral soapbox and broadcast
the morality of the issue. Do what you want. I am merely
advising you that the law, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." will
find you out, guaranteed. So if you want to avoid all the pitfalls
of the deceiver, and there are so many they cannot be counted,
then shoot straight.
The practice of shooting straight lends itself to success. It
permits solid planning, effective and believable implementation,
and joyous results and rewards.
Such are the choices of all people. Even the least successful,
while being a straight shooter, has the benefit of inner peace
and strength, something entirely impossible for the deceiver.
So the point is that to practice honor and integrity is the way
to peace, happiness, and, if you wish, riches. Any other style
of practice will eventually end up in failure.

Bioburden: How Much Is Too Much
How Many Bugs (Micro-organisms) Create A Problem

Because bioburden is not a very widely discussed term,
I have included some links and suggested readings at
the end of this article.
I want to cover some points: what “bioburden” mean.
How might it affect a healthy person. Why might it
present a problem. Why are hospitals different from
homes.
The dictionary describes it as “bioburden as “a
population of viable microorganisms on a product”.
Another description reads: “the bioburden of a
material is a measurement of the number of viable
microorganisms which grow into colonies after being
inoculated onto growth media”. Medical terminology
breaks the word up into two sections: “bio” meaning
life and “burden” meaning “how much” of this life is
there to deal with. We are dealing with a measurement
of a group of living micro-organisms or microbes.
So we are literally looking for how much of this living
(bio) micro-organisms is present. The very fact that
these micro-organisms are actually measured, assigned a
numeric label or identity, and also noted to be alive,
suggests that a desirable outcome might either be
higher or lower number. Also if you recognize that
something is alive, the desired outcome might be to
have it dead or inactivated. Both points are precisely
why this tool is so important. This kind of study
through ongoing testing is expensive and is not done
without good reason. It is one of the ongoing
foundational tests in health care facilities. Sometimes
funding restrictions limit regular testing, but if a
problem is suspected, testing will be done very
quickly.
To use this testing information properly several other
things have to be known. Who does the studying? How
many micro-organisms there are? Do they present a
risk? Where are they? How did they get there? Did they
come from a certain area? What keeps them healthy?
What could interfere with that? Through recognized
standards of practice, most cleaning or reprocessing of
equipment is assigned to a specialized department.
However, all areas have some responsibility to maintain
the health of the facility. So we look at who does
this. The point is that if a problem exits, you want
to find the source and change the habits of the
problematic micro-organisms. Therefore you have to have
a very organized process in place. Later we will
discuss what part your own health plays in this and how
your home would relate to this understanding of the
term bioburden.

I have been wondering of late if my meanderings have taken
on a doom and gloom aspect, one that readers may not like.
I have no real opinion in the moral sense about the things
on which I report. I am not saying that something is good or
bad, rather, I am interested in how each item interrelates
with the great law - As ye sow, so shall ye reap.
If you take a look at things and see the actions we take,
the attitudes we take concerning many matters it is easy to
see we use the law in ways that bring troubles upon us. Let
me show you something:

These are ten headlines in a list of news articles I receive
daily. This list is just the first ten in the list and the
entire list is just like these first ten. Look at all the
topics. Even without reading the articles you can tell that
nine out of the ten are dealing with bad things, negative
things, things mankind feel are not good. Even the headline
about the Stones deals with a negative.
The very worst part of all this is that it faces us every
day. Tomorrow the headlines will use different words to talk
about different actions around the world, yet they will be
the same.
I am one of those who feels the press reports only on the
negative, the terror, the "bad" things that are going on and
that certainly is no help to the condition, indeed it
promotes it.
The point here, folks is this. Looking at the law - As ye
sow, so shall ye reap - what do you think mankind will reap
from all the things going on around the world as reported by
these headlines?
Are you one of those who thinks all these troubles represent
a minority in the world? Let me tell you that is a
completely wrong whim within your imagination. Most of these
troubles are taking place in some of the most populated
places in earth and affecting the majority of the worlds
population, which by this mornings count is over
6, 528, 469, 570 (that's 6.5 billion).
So when we reach a point where the majority of the world's
people feel it is just fine to take up a gun and go after
anything they can from their neighbors you will begin to see
and feel the affects of the law.
What can you do about it? In terms of how you affect the
world order it would seem you can do little. Yet you can do
much. You can go inside and learn to meet with your Maker.
You can learn to be at peace within yourself and ensure that
all your daily actions serve to promote peace and not anger
or conflict. You can promote kindness and where you see
people fighting then, only if it is sane and possible, sit
with them and see if you can have them understand the law.
Have them see that if they concern themselves with peace
and kindness they would receive much more of what they are
looking for. Fighting will only beget fighting.
If you take this stance on a minute by minute basis
throughout your life your example will stimulate others
around you to do likewise. Keep it up all your life and
encourage others to do likewise and soon we have a growing
force that will overcome the present day news headlines. At
the very least it will cause your life to be what you want
it to be, prosperous, peaceful, stable and filled with love
and kindness.

A police officer, though scheduled for all-night duty at the
station, was relieved of duty early and arrived home four
hours ahead of schedule, at 2 AM.
Not wanting to wake his wife, he undressed in the dark,
crept into the bedroom and started to climb into bed. She
sleepily sat up and said, "Mike, dearest, would you go down
to the all-night drug store on the next block and get me
some aspirin? I've got a splitting headache."
"Certainly, honey," he said, and feeling his way across the
room, he got dressed and walked over to the drug store.
As he arrived, the pharmacist looked up in surprise, "Say,"
said the druggist, "aren't you Officer Fenwick of the 8th
District?"
"Yes, I am," said the officer.
