their torsos are more padded. They also have a slightly
higher metabolism, which enables them to burn food
faster to stay warm. Finally, their veins and arteries are
arranged in a way that helps more warming blood to
get to their hands and fingers.

My How We Cling To Bondage

The priest said to the poor farmer, "If you had a horse,
would you give it to the Lord?"
"Yes."
"And if you had a cow?"
"Absolutely."
"And a goat?"
"Sure."
"A pig?"
"Now, that's not fair!" protested the farmer.
"You know I have a pig!"
I wonder how typical this response is? I find folks
hang on to material goods like they were the very
essence of life.
In the quiet recesses of ones soul you will find there
is no need for material goods, that once there and
maintaining communication you really have all the
things you want or need.
Few there are who recognize this point. One doesn't
have to give up all he has. He must "DETACH" from
all he has. The entire idea is that when one becomes
too attached to anything material he or they forfeit
their opportunity to meet and have a one on one
communication with their Maker.
The idea is that nothing - "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING"
is to be important in your life before your Maker,
nothing.
So detachment is a condition you should practice.
Try it. You will find it most refreshing. One of the first
things you will notice is a lifting of burdens, a lifting
of a heavy feeling within you.
I know you love your wife/husband, your kids, your house,
your car. I know your job is so important to you that you
will aggressively fight to keep it. Yet, if you would have
the abundance your Maker wants for you then you must
let go of these things.
That does not mean you give them away. It means you
treat them in exactly the way each should be treated,
but as if none of them were yours. Detach. Remember,
they are to be yours, rather than you belonging to them.
The moment you have an attachment to things in this
earth is the moment you have placed something
between you and your Maker. Yet it is your Maker that
makes it possible for you to have everything.
We can enjoy things without the need to "possess" them.
I am reminded of the statement here of a "Guy chases a
girl until she catches him." That is what happens when
we pursue material goods. We chase them until they
own us. That forfeits your opportunity to have a real
relationship with your Maker.
I hear some of you saying "But I have responsibilities!"
Sure you do and it is simply amazing how much better
you can fulfill those responsibilities when you give
them up in favor of a relationship with your Maker.
Please don't misunderstand here. This is not a religious
topic. This has nothing to do with any church or any
religion. It has to do with the bountiful abundance you
can have when you, and you alone, put your Maker,
inside you, first in your life.
It does not require your attendance at any place at
any time. It does not require you pay money for any
participation, or dress a certain way or repeat mantras
or perform in any "holy" way. It means only that the
most important thing in your life and the first thing in
your life is your Maker, inside you. From there you will
know what to do, where to go, how to do things and
look out for the abundance that will be visited upon you.

To Be Vaccinated Or

Very shortly now, if it hasn't already happened, you will be
confronted with the flu vaccination choice ... do you get a shot
this year? Or will you not? It's quite the dilemma. I thought
I would share some thoughts and some of the less familiar
details: questions we get asked routinely in a clinic. I travel
to and set up my supplies in car dealerships, large corporate
office buildings, tiny one or two employee work places,
school lunchrooms, pharmacies, large department stores,
box warehouses, etc. I give vaccinations to people who
work in these places and those who shop there. I am
prepared to travel anywhere, so I get to see some very
interesting out of the way places! The flu virus can make
many, many people very ill. And it has the potential of
creating epidemics. It's easy way to pass this from one
person to another (mode of transmission). If you breathe,
you take a chance of breathing in a flu virus. Just think
about your own environment or picture an office of several
people. Someone coughs and doesn't know they have
the flu because they have no symptoms yet. (The virus
is just growing (incubating) into a number that will
eventually cause the person to have symptoms.) So this
person coughs and the virus is part of the moisture that
is sent out by the force of the cough. These particles
land on something ... a desk, a counter, a bag. Or if you
unfortunate enough to be passing close to the person,
they can land on you or be part of the air you are
breathing in at that moment. As you inhale, the virus
floats into your respiratory system.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"You mean bring nothing?" asked Lynn, who looked from
Pam to David to Bob.
"That's what I mean, Mom. There is nothing here you will
need down there, or can use down there. The only thing I
think you might want is your camera to take lots of pictures
of your trip. If you don't have an article of clothing you can
use mine, or David will get it for you. Pack nothing. Do you
think you can do that?" asked Pam.
"My goodness! I don't know. How long are we going to be
away, honey?" she asked her husband.
"I don't know. I can't think of anything we have to be here
for. We will stay as long as we want." Bob Hunter replied.
"I sense you two are a little nervous, and excited, at the
same time." said David.
"We are, David. We have never been so far away from
home before, and you make this sound so foreign to
our way of thinking, I don't know about this trip. How
much money should we bring?" asked Bob.
"None, Bob, not one penny." said David.
"But - but - but surely you need money?" asked Bob.
"When we go, we will leave here and be immediately
in our village. There is no money or stores there. You
could have millions of dollars and there it would be
worthless. You need no money." replied David.
It was becoming clear both Lynn and Bob were having
a hard time understanding what life would be like with
Pam and David.
"I'll tell you what. Let's go to our place only for a day.
Bring your camera, and that's all. I will bring you home
tomorrow for anything you think you will need.
How's that?" said David.
That appeared to solve the problem.
"That would be okay. That way if we needed anything
we could get it then." said Bob, somewhat comforted
that he would not be long away from his precious
material goods.
Lynn was similarly satisfied.
"The only thing we must decide now is when shall
we go. Remember, we are further west than you by
two hours. So, if we leave here at ten in the morning,
it will be eight in the morning when we
arrive." said David.
"Should we go this afternoon?" asked Bob, looking
at Lynn.
"I- I guess that would be alright." she said with some
hesitation. Making this decision was somehow difficult.
She knew she would have to go but traveling
instantaneously was a scary thought, still, even
though Bob had reassured her.
"Well, what about after we get the lunch dishes
done?" said Pam.
"Good, that's settled. After lunch it is." said David,
"In the meantime, Bob, I wonder if you would be
kind enough to drive little Maz and I downtown. He
has never seen such things and I think he might like it."
Changing the subject changed the mood and came
as a relief to Bob Hunter. He was beginning to pick
up on his wife's fear and was getting nervous himself.
The men left for their tour of Pinehill.
The women stayed to clean up after breakfast. That
being done Pam went to the living room and called a
few of her old school chums, while Lynn played with
Mae Eloise.
The day passed quickly and lunch time came upon
them fast.
Lunch over, dishes done, Lynn and Bob were dressed
far too heavy for the tropical climate. David and Pam
knew this but decided David could arrange for proper
clothing upon their arrival.
Lynn came to join the group but was nearly collapsing
with fear and nervousness.
"Mom, it's okay. Nothing will happen to you. Stop
worrying."
"I know Pam, I just can't help it." Lynn almost
whimpered.
"Here, Mom, don't worry." said Pam as she reached
out with the only free hand she had, to hug her Mother.
Her other arm was full of Mae Eloise.
David saw his opportunity. In a flash he had them all
transposed to their small house in the village. It was done.
