Can rainbows happen at night?
Well, they're harder to see, of course, but lunar
rainbows (also called "moonbows") do indeed occur.
A full moon is bright enough to have its light refracted
by raindrops just as the sun is. The colors of a lunar
rainbow are much fainter than a rainbow produced
by sunlight - usually described as soft and pale or
more white than regular rainbows. Those who have
seen these much rarer rainbows generally describe
the site as incredibly beautiful.
Does the intensity of the rain falling affect the colors
of the rainbow?
Yes. You see the most vivid rainbows with the most
defined colors when large raindrops (1-2 mm in diameter)
are falling. Rainbows arising from drizzle (drop size
about 0.15 mm) lack red, and the rest of the colors
(except for violet) are more faint. Mist droplets
(about 0.04 mm) or cloud droplets (about 0.02 mm)
produce nearly white bows.

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF PERSONAL PEACE?

Peace. Is there anything more important?
We want to live in peaceful times, in peaceful
communities, in peaceful families. When asked
what people wanted most in their lives, surveys
showed that peace of mind topped the list. As
with most things we want, though, it has a price.
Are you prepared to pay?
If you are still yelling at the driver in front of you,
there cannot be peace. If you believe your way is
the only way, there cannot be peace. If you are more
likely to judge others than reflect on yourself, there
cannot be peace. Peace is a construct of people. It is
an agreement that there is a better way to live, and
a commitment to that way. That way is... peacefully.
Your willingness to live peacefully with others
demonstrates your commitment to world peace. How
is your internal dialogue? Is it a constant stream of
judgments? Does your mind run like this at the mall?
"Look at that outfit!", "That's no way to behave.", "If
she can get herself a man, anyone can.", "Who
does he think he is?" "They call that customer service?"
"Ooh, baby, you've had a few million calories too many."
Sound at all familiar? Is this creating peace within
yourself? Not likely. As within, so without. Those words
will find their way from your mind to your lips sometime
soon in all likelihood. Then, you can really get into it!
How peaceful is that?
How's your temper? Do you offer others a piece of
your mind often? Oops, wrong kind of piece. Did they
ask you what you were thinking? Oh, no, they didn't
have to? You were just 'sharing your thoughts', were you?
For whose good was that exactly? We even have a
phrase we use to make that all right somehow. We say
"I'm telling you this for your own good." Now, how would
you be sure that was the truth? Could it just be that
you wouldn't hold your tongue? You certainly could
have. How peaceful was that?
Oh, you do not even have to open your mouth to
pass judgment. Just roll or avert your eyes. That doesn't
leave too much to the imagination. Remember, you
cannot not communicate.
Peace has a price tag. Each person has to pay it or
they simply cannot have it. Here are a few ways to
save up for it:
** WORK ON YOUR SELF-DEVELOPMENT FIRST
When you find yourself judging others, first ask yourself
if you are blameless in those areas. When you have
taken care of the issue responsibly yourself, you will
better understand how to be most helpful to others.
** FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS NOT PROBLEMS
Rather than looking for someone to blame, put your
energy into creating a better way to rectify a situation
or to prevent a recurrence. Work towards agreement
for solutions. That's a much better use for your energy.
** IDENTIFY YOUR FEELINGS CORRECTLY
Take the time to identify the feeling you are experiencing
accurately and give it a name. People can understand
fear, frustration and pain when it is described. Talking
about it brings clarity to communication. Anger is is an
arousal in your body in response to fear, frustration or
pain. Simply 'being angry' causes folks to move away
from you.
** BE ACCOUNTABLE, RESPONSIBLE AND CONGRUENT
Keep your commitments to yourself and others. When in
doubt, actions speak louder than words. When behavior
is not congruent with words, believe the behavior. And,
walk your talk.
** MAINTAIN YOUR BALANCE
You are entitled to your opinions, beliefs, values and
lifestyle. Your choices have consequences for you and
others. Consider the consequences before acting or
speaking. To have peace, it is essential to live without
infringing on the rights and freedoms of others to have
their opinions, beliefs, values and lifestyle. Peaceful
living requires tolerance, acceptance, and, good fences
and boundaries.
** BE VERY CLEAR ABOUT WHAT IS IMPORTANT,
SIGNIFICANT AND VALUABLE TO YOU
When you know what you value and live accordingly,
you will find peace. Then, it is yours to share. You cannot
give a gift you do not have.
When you have conserved your energy in these ways,
you will have the price of peace. There is only one catch.
If you want to keep it, you simply have to keep paying
the price!

Backup Copies
Besides making backup copies of your documents on
your own, you can tell Word to make backup copies
for you. Word then makes a second copy of the document
and keeps it in the same folder as the original. However,
the backup copy is made only when you, and not Word,
save the document. If a power failure occurs, you can't
recover the work you did in the last few minutes,
although you can recover the version of the document
that was saved the last time you saved the document.
To tell Word to create backup copies of your documents,
choose Tools, Options, select the Save tab in the Options
dialog box, and check the Always Create Backup Copy
check box.

To Be Vaccinated Or

If you take the shot, you have another chemical in your body.
And we know our immune systems are already
overworked ... so why add to its workload ... and then of
course, another argument could be that you are only
vaccinated against three strains of the influenza virus.
By some misfortune, you could be exposed to a strain for
which you aren't immunized. Here's what a flu is like to a
younger person. You can get fever, chills, headache,
generalized muscle aches, anorexia, and non-productive
cough (no loose sputum to be coughed up.). These symptoms
usually last for 5-10 days. For many of us in the health care
field, it's not an issue. No flu shot: no work. Simple! But for
many others, this is a choice you don't want to make lightly.
But most of us don't live or work in such "high risk" facilities,
so why might you want to protect yourself? The decision
should be based on your own health, your family situation,
and your work or school. I come across many "new caregivers"
who have been told they cannot be allowed to look after
their loved ones if they aren't immunized…harsh words for
many. One of the statistics I found was that in a seniors'
(long term care) facility) out of 100 patients, 60 will get
the flu, and 30 will die. Why such a high death rate? Mainly
because these people's immune system is functioning so
poorly. Plus the fact there are so many people in such
facilities, whose health is compromised, and if the virus
gets a foothold, it has many potential victims.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

"Lynn, in the first place this is my life. My friends don't live
my life, and most of them disappeared like scared rabbits
when I needed them. Only Sam and Alewka, of all people,
stood by me when I needed someone. As long as the
kids stay here I will, too, and even if they don't I might
remain. I have genuine friendship here, none of which is
based on any pretense." answered Mae. The idea of friends
in Pinehill pretty much abhorred her. She met better "Pinehill"
friends while she lived here than that bunch of social
climbing phony individuals who stayed away from her
in her time of need.
The Hunters were getting their eyes, ears and heads full
of thinking that was, to this point, far different than what
they were used to. It was hard for them to take.
"How about some supper folks?" asked Pam, trying to
get away from the heat of the moment.
It was still a little early for supper, but she knew she could
stretch out the time, what with all the talk. And then there
was the newness of the place, too, that kept her Mom
and Dad busy.
And just as she said that she spotted another distraction
coming. Boolanga and Midnight were walking over to visit.
"Hi guy! Glad to see you. Come, sit, I want you to meet
Pam's folks." said David as Boolanga came walking up.
Introductions were made and more conversation began.
Midnight did her usual sniffing. She decided the Hunters
were much too afraid to be here. She then went to sit by
little Maz who had just returned.
He petted her and played with her. She finally laid her
head in his lap, while he petted.
"That is one big cat!" said Lynn a little faltering. She was
also uncomfortable with the cat being beside little Maz.
"Will she hurt him?"
"Don't worry, Mrs. Hunter. Midnight has protected this
village and all the people in it for three or four years now.
She knows everyone in it." said Boolanga.
"But she is a wild animal! She is not a pet. She might
turn someday." Lynn went on.
"Is that what you expect of those you love, Mrs. Hunter?"
asked Boolanga, suddenly turning the tables. "Midnight
knows she is loved by everyone in this village. She might
turn on someone who does not love and trust her but she
will never turn on anyone in this village. Even you, as
new as you are, have now been identified as belonging
to her beloved David, Pam and Maz. She will protect you
too. And may heaven help the person who tries anything
with Mae Eloise." answered Boolanga.
"I've never seen such confidence in a wild animal before."
said Bob. "The only glimpse we get of them are behind
bars and in circuses. This is our first exposure to a wild
animal up close."
"Yes, man must put everything in a cage doesn't he? He
even puts men in cages, although not all of them are with
bars of steel. He puts men in economic cages, religious
cages, ethnic cages, race cages. Man has a cage for
everything that is different than himself or his particular
ways." said Boolanga doing a bit of perusing.
"What do you mean?" asked Bob.
"I have been to Pinehill. I have even been to your Pinehill
jail. There I see the cages in which you put men, women
and children who don't live by the laws you dream up. Most
of those laws are to keep people in bondage to the system
and do nothing to free men or show them about their Maker.
Man insists that you keep with the system. Even Mr. Striker
knows this, and doesn't like it. He is a kind man." said Boolanga.
The Hunters were taken completely off center. That Boolanga
could talk of their own town and police chief with full
knowledge surprised them. They had no idea who this
man was. He was sitting there calm as can be yet he had
been to Pinehill and spoken with Ben Striker. Not even
Bob Hunter had spoken with Ben Striker, or been to see
the jail, for that matter. It put this entire day into a new
perspective.
"You need not fear Midnight, Mom, Dad." said Pam who
had been watching all this. She knew Boolanga's tone was
calm, loving and in pursuit of no axe to grind. Now she
wanted to see her parents reaction. So far, all she got was
that stunned look of surprise. "This is the cat that came
home with David, Boolanga, and Eloise."
