every day. It was the ONLY beverage he consumed (thank
goodness). Some claim he liked it thick as honey and cold
and flavored with chili peppers, while others say it was merely
flavored with vanilla and spices.
Why do we get dark circles under our eyes when we're tired?
Dark circles under the eyes can be exacerbated by lack of sleep,
but they're really not caused by tiredness. Generally, they're either
hereditary (you're born with deeply pigmented skin) or caused by
the skin under the eyes becoming thinner with age. The thinner
the skin, the easier it is to see veins underneath the skin.
What causes "bags" under the eyes?
Puffy eyes are caused by fluid that accumulates under the eye
and is trapped there. The problem is generally most severe in
the morning. (Allergies and sinus problems may also make
eyes puffy.)

Leaping To Conclusions
A Post Office worker, at the main sorting office, finds an
un-stamped, poorly hand-written envelope, addressed to
God. He opens it and discovers it is from an elderly lady,
distressed because all her savings - $200 have been
stolen. She will be cold & hungry this Easter without
divine intervention.
He organizes the postal workers, who dig deep and
come up with $180 to donate. They get it to her by
special courier the same morning.
A week later, the same postal worker recognizes the
same handwriting on another envelope. He opens it:
"Dear God, Thank you for the $180 for Easter, which
would have been so bleak otherwise.
P.S. It was $20 short but that was probably those
thieving workers at the Post Office."
Some folk, without evidence or cause, will throw out
accusations that are serious and harmful. Here the
woman in this joke actually accused those who
served her.
How many times have you done that in your life? How
many times do you form an opinion of someone or
some organization and on the basis of that opinion
alone will cause an accusation to proceed out of
your mouth?
I'll bet I can think of a couple favorites where you might
do that, right now. For example, how many times do
you accuse the tax department of being thieves,
swindlers, crooks of the worst order? Or how many
times do you accuse the government, the politicians
therein, of being lazy good for nothing bureaucrats?
And again, how is it that you prefer to think of the police
as unfair, or bad, rather than admit that you were
speeding or committing some other offense?
It gets easy to make such accusations, to fall into the
trap of "labeling" people or organizations. Worse yet
it sets up a frame of mind that can quickly become a
habit, one that is very hard to break.
I have heard it said that "leaping to conclusions is the
only exercise some minds get". So in the overall I
advocate you consider the law "As ye sow, so shall
ye reap." What you give out will surely be what
you get back.
Maybe we should not practice Leaping To Conclusions.

Whack! "Ouch. That hurt!" Whack, again it
landed square on Tim Henry's face.
His girlfriend, Sharon Smithson, was angry.
They had just been out for the evening and finally
were alone. Sharon, who had for months now been
trying to grasp the concepts and begin the
practice of living by higher law, was
unsuccessful. She then resorted to hanging on to
Tim by using her body.
They had been involved in a particularly "hot"
session when Tim came up for air, before they had
gone too far by his thoughts. That angered Sharon
and she knew she was losing him. She struck out,
slapping his face as if he had done something
terrible. She was mad, beyond reason, beyond being
able to think.
"You think you're so damn smart. You think
you're beyond sex, that you're some kind of high
and mighty or something. You think I throw myself
at everyone? Who do you think you are God or
something?" And she ran away in tears.
Tim knew what was going on and he could do
nothing about it. Oh! He could offer solace. He
could hug her and calm her but that was not what
the real problem was. Sharon was terribly
frustrated at making no progress, at least that is
what she thought, toward higher law. She was
trying and trying but could see no fruit from her
efforts. She was losing it.
Tim had tried to have her see that all she
need do is "accept" the fact she was a part of her
Maker, "accept" that she had these powers and
abilities, "accept" in the deepest part of her gut
the idea she was a Master. This is not a matter of
effort, it is a matter of belief.
Sharon could not see that, and the harder she
worked at it the further away she got. High is the
road and narrow is the way and few there are that
walk it.
Yet it is and shall remain a matter of
personal choice, not only for Sharon, but for
anyone who wanted to walk the path. At some point
along the way a person must make a decision to
press on. Failing to do so will result in falling
back and ultimately leaving the path. Sharon was
on the verge of that. Once that happens to a
person they usually go completely in the opposite
direction, preferring instead to set themselves up
as "authorities" on the subject of spirituality
and telling the world it is all nonsense. Tim knew
this is the ultimate result of Sharon's efforts.
He knew this because Sharon did not want to
practice higher law for any greater reason than to
please and hold him. Her motives were flawed from
the beginning and she had not changed them nor did
she see what her motives really were. It is much
like someone who takes on the path because they
see it as a way out of their turmoil, a way to
have all the money one wants or to have the world
beating a path to your door. None of those
motivations work. They are all the wrong reason
for wanting to learn higher law. That is why the
admonition "give up your life if you would find
it."
You cannot worship God and Mammon. You cannot
work on learning higher law because you think it
will give you riches. Oh, you can, but the
motivation is wrong and therefor the path is the
wrong path. You must give up all and become a
Master solely for that sake, solely to follow what
your Maker, within, directs. No material goods,
riches, fame, position or other thing man desires
can or will be brought about by learning higher
law. Everyone of these desires will keep you from
reaching that objectives. Simplicity is the answer
and one must clearly know one has no need whatever
of any of these things when you live by higher
law.
So Sharon was on the verge of backsliding and
becoming an "authority" on Tim's way of life. In
that role she would never reveal, of course, her
own inadequacies. She would only speak against Tim
and others who practiced higher law, leaning, as
does the church, on the emotional issues offered
up by images of satin, evil, occult practices.
She would go to church and tell her story and
everyone would praise God she was returned from
the clutches of evil. She would be consulted by
those in the church who wanted to arm themselves
further about the subject so they could stand on
their own "soapbox" and preach the evils of the
Henrys and others.
In doing this they would all forget the value
the Henrys were, the Strikers were, the Whites
were in the catastrophe that struck downtown
Pinehill. When questioned on it they would say it
was some sort of evil force that it was not of
God.

OBSERVATIONS OF OUR BUSINESS
