I was not envious of the characters' adventures but enjoyed
the book as it refreshed the wonderment I had as a youth and
now as a practical adult, to "think outside the box" about

Sony recalls copy-protected CDs
Sony BMG is recalling music CDs that use controversial
anti-piracy software.
The software was widely criticised because it used
virus-like techniques to stop illegal copies being made.
Widespread pressure has made the music giant remove CDs
bearing the software from stores. It will also swap bought
CDs for copies free of the XCP anti-piracy software.
Sony is also providing software to make it easy to remove
the controversial program from Windows computers.

Sony's music arm could be recalling millions of CDs because
at least 20 discs are known to use XCP some by best-selling
artists such as Celine Dion, Natasha Bedingfield, and
Amerie.
One of the discs, Neil Diamond's 12 Songs, was the top
seller on Amazon.com for several days.
No detailed figures have been given by Sony for how many CDs
are protected with XCP or how many have been sold.
However, work by respected net expert Dan Kaminsky found
that more than 500,000 networks have at least one machine on
them using XCP.
Although the CDs containing XCP were only released in the
US, Mr Kaminsky found that 44,000 copies were installed on
machines in the UK.
In its statement announcing the recall Sony BMG said: "We
deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause our customers
and we are committed to making this situation right."
Security exploit
The alarm about XCP was raised by Windows programming expert
Mark Russinovich who discovered that it used a "root kit" to
install itself deep inside the operating system.
Subsequent to his discovery virus writers started exploiting
XCP's stealthy abilities to hide their own creations.
In the same statement about the recall Sony BMG said it
would make it much easier to uninstall the XCP system from
Windows PCs on which is has been installed.
Before now any customer wanting to rid their PC of XCP had
to go through a several stage process of telling Sony what
they wanted to do and then waiting for it to respond. As
well as being criticised for its inconvenience security
researchers found that the uninstaller left Windows machines
vulnerable to several exploits. The XCP copy protection
system only installed on machines running Windows.
Writing on the Freedom to Tinker blog, researchers J Alex
Halderman and Ed Felten found that cleverly written webpages
could exploit the programming code used to remove XCP to
install their own potentially malicious programs.
The pair also provided tools that help people work out if
their Windows machines have been left vulnerable in this
way.
The news about the uninstaller came as anti-virus firms and
Microsoft announced tools to find and remove the "root kit".
The row about XCP has also led to Sony BMG facing several
class-action lawsuits over the potential security problems
that the software causes.

There is also a reaction that is a little more prolonged. It
causes fever, nausea, vomiting, tenderness, and redness or
swelling at the injection site beyond 48 hours. Please see
your doctor. Again, please notify the clinic, as we have to
track these reactions.
If by any chance you have red itchy eyes with some drainage
and swollen eyelids combined with a cough, sore throat,
difficult breathing, wheezing and/or swelling of the face,
PLEASE report this to your doctor! This is not normal and
must be checked out as soon as possible. These symptoms
could develop 2 to 24 hours after your flu shot and should
be reported to a doctor right away. Also, any prolonged or
unusual reaction to the flu vaccine must be reported to your
doctor.
Here comes the major reaction and it is every nurse’s
nightmare! And it usually happens within 20 minutes of
having the injection. It is the reason you are asked to stay
for twenty minutes after receiving the injection. It is the
ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION. This means that your entire body
doesn’t like what you have just given it and it now tries to
get rid of the chemicals. Just as your body locally tries to
get rid of a splinter by bringing extra fluid to wash out
the toxins, now your entire body reacts the same way!
It usually shows up as hives, (fluid in your tissues) and
goes on to allergic asthma (fluid in the lung tissue) or
systemic anaphylaxis (fluid everywhere!). This occurs rarely
after flu vaccinations, but when it does, it is an
emergency, requiring immediate medical attention! These
reactions probably result from hypersensitivity to some
vaccine component. The majority of these reactions seem most
likely related to residual egg protein. Individuals with
anaphylactic hypersensitivity to eggs should not be given
influenza vaccine. How do you know if you are allergic to
this? If you eat any egg products and end up with hives,
swelling of the lips or tongue or experience acute
respiratory distress or collapse, DON'T BE VACCINATED.
Anaphylactic reactions are rare, BUT THEY DO OCCASIONALLY
occur. This is classified as a “high risk” person and should
NEVER be vaccinated in a wellness clinic!

Jesus stepped back from her. Muhammad moved up to stand
beside her. "This woman was willing to give her life for

Muhammad moved back to his place. Buddha stepped
forward. "No person shall gain the kingdom without following
the path. Yours is the choice. None are in control of that
but you." Buddha raised his hands.
All those who did not live by higher law kneeled and
bowed. "Henceforth, from this day all impediment to living
by higher law is removed from those who wish to cross the
veil of simplicity."
Buddha stepped back
Jesus nodded to Sien, who stepped forth and placed a
heart pendant around Riata's neck, then stepped back.
Jesus stepped forth and raising his hand above Riata's
breast, squeezed his finger until one drop of blood fell
onto the pendant. It immediately burst forth with intense
light and love. "From this day you may cause this light and
power to be used as you see fit. Welcome to my council. You
are a wise woman and you have earned the right."
Suddenly all three men walked back into the light and
vanished. All present were stunned into silence. Not one
uttered a sound, preferring instead to allow the power of
the moment to sink in.
There was not a sound, even breathing was silent. The
love remained so intense no one dared move.
Abetta had tears sliding silently down her cheeks. So
did Alewka and Eloise. Oomano,began to sob. That broke the
silence.
What can one do in a situation like this? Nothing can
top this. The kids, even though they did not yet live by
higher law, had a keen understanding of the significance of
this moment. They were beginning to move around yet there
was a sombre air about them.
Sam gathered up all the kids and asked them to follow
him. He waved a summons to Mazunta, who knew immediately
what Sam was up to. They walked to the front of the
orphanage and there Sam had them all sit campfire style, on
the ground.
"You kids have been given the opportunity to cross over
the veil of simplicity and live your lives by higher law.
How many of you would like to do that?" Sam asked the
question.
Every hand went up.
Sam, and Mazunta beside him raised his hands to shoulder
height, palms toward the sitting kids. The pair of them
broadcast love unto all the kids. "I have a sense you all
know the laws. Riata has been teaching you all along. Each
of you has a deep understanding of the law 'As ye sow, so
shall ye reap', and I have seen you in meditations. It would
appear you need only take that first step, that first action
based on truth, trusting all is well. Then we shall do it."
The men lowered their hands. Sam turned and with one
hand sent a beam of white light onto the ground between the
group and the orphanage. The line went across the entire
property and moved up five meters (yards) then came back
across the property to the other side thence up to meet the
starting point. "Within that area I have drawn the earth
has turned to quicksand." Sam picked up a good sized rock
and threw it into the area. There was a splash, and the rock
disappeared beneath the surface. "I have caused us to be
completely surrounded by quicksand. We cannot get back
unless we walk across it. Now is the time to trust your
Maker and KNOW you can walk on top of the surface."
Having finished speaking Sam casually picked up another
large rock then walked out into the middle of the quicksand
toward the orphanage. There he turned to face the kids and
holding out the rock, let it fall. It splashed at his feet,
then disappeared.
Holding out his hand he said "Come."
Mazunta gathered all the kids. They were now standing in
a group at the edge of the quicksand. "The law is that as ye
believe, so shall it be. See yourself walking back to the
orphanage as if there were nothing but solid ground beneath
your feet. Have no fear, but trust instead. Keep your eyes
on Sam only and walk to him."
Mazunta ushered the first one out onto the quicksand.
The child was a girl. She began to sink immediately and then
panic. She screamed. Mazunta spoke quietly but with an
authority that virtually lifted her out of the mire. "Look
at Sam. Know you can walk on top of that stuff. It is your
choice. You can be like the rock or you can be like Sam.
Which do you choose and which do you believe. Keep your eyes
always on the prize. KNOW it shall be. Now walk to Sam."
The girl stopped her screaming. She obeyed the command
coming from within her. She looked at Sam and took one step.
It was as if she was on a staircase. As she took a step she
raised up out of the quicksand. She took another and
another. She was finally walking on top of the sludge and
mire. Her legs and clothes were dirty and dripping yet she
walked as if there were no quicksand around. She had a smile
on her face no one could wipe off. She KNEW.

A very popular Scottish picnic is called a "kettle of fish"
- from the fact that the picnickers catch salmon or trout in
the streams of the countryside and cook them in a large
"kettle" for the main course of the picnic meal. We have a
similar phrase - "pretty picnic" - with a similar meaning.
Since "picnics" are seldom "pretty" and often do not operate
smoothly, these terms both mean the opposite of what they
say.

MY HOUSEWORK PHILOSOPHY
I don't do windows because I love birds and don't want one
to run into a clean window and get hurt.
I don't wax floors because I am terrified a guest will slip,
hurt themselves, I'll feel terrible and they may sue me.
I don't mind the dust bunnies because they are very good
company, I have named most of them, and they agree with
everything I say.
I don't disturb cobwebs because I want every creature to

don't want the others to get jealous.

rid of the only green I got.
I don't put things away because my husband will never be
able to find them again.

want my guests to stress out over what to make when they
invite me over for dinner.
I don't iron because I choose to believe them when they say
"Permanent Press."
I don't stress much on anything because "A Type"
personalities die young and I want to stick around and
become a wrinkled up crusty ol' person!
