Does dry ice melt?

Why does ice float?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

Where did the phrase "pipe dream" originate?

"Pipe dream" originated back in the days when opium was the
recreational drug of choice. Opium was smoked in a pipe and
it could cause fantastic hallucinations and vivid waking
dreams.

When ice melts, does it raise the water level in the glass?

No. When an ice cube melts in a glass, it will not raise the
level of liquid. The space the ice took up as a cube is the
same space that it will take up when it's a liquid.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!

shoe with the swoosh was introduced in 1972.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------

Keep Your Powder Dry!

What a saying, these days. That came out of eighteenth
century America, when men used to hunt with guns that needed
power and ball. Self contained cartridges were not yet
invented.

What the saying meant was - - be prepared.

It meant be ready for anything that comes across your path.
It could be an enemy. It could be a stream into which you
fall. It could be game you were hunting. In all
circumstances - - - keep your powder dry.

And so it it true today also. Plan for the best. Work for
it. Come at it from different directions, but be ready for
anything.

Be ready for setbacks. Be ready for the very best, too.

It has been wisely said that success ruins more men than
struggle. Too much money too quickly does a great deal of
damage to an untrained man.

So when we admonish you to be prepared, we not only mean for
the worst, we also mean be ready for the best. Careful
forethought about both issues is in order.

Think on those things for they merit your attention before
they are imposed upon you. The more you think about all
circumstances you may face, the faster and more successful
you will get through them. That would be nice, right?

Keep Your Powder Dry!

To Be Vaccinated Or Not To Be Vaccinated
Do Some Serious Deliberation Before
You Offer Your Arm
PART 15 of 15

A word about prevention…I tell my friends, who like me,
don't want this in our bodies, to eat a very powerful a
vitamin mineral supplement. Find one that has all the
necessary elements to restore your health. Eat lots of
fruits and vegetables, especially the green ones…anything
that gives you large amounts of antioxidants. Wash your
hands frequently. You have no idea what you have innocently
touched. Take daily baths and wash your hair. Turn your head
from people who are coughing. Get out into the fresh air and
fill your lungs with clean air. (That might be a
questionable practice in some locations, but it’s better
than breathing in flu viruses.) Drink loads of fluids,
especially plain water. It helps wash out any possible
toxins. See if the filters in your office could be changed
more frequently.

I would encourage you to become knowledgeable about this flu
situation. I see many of us have serious health challenges
that reduce our ability to fight something as "simple" as a
flu episode. You may notice I "preach" a lot about
rebuilding your immune system. With a weak one, you are
prone to everything coming along. With a strong one, you can
fight off most of what comes at you. So the question is:
which would you rather have? Daily I see the effects of
degenerative conditions such as diabetes, heart disease,
cancer, etc. You don't have to accept them as inevitable. A
strong body will help overcome all kinds of diseases. I have
given you some general research information and my own
experience. Please use this information for educational
purposes only.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to
http://www.the-pebble.com OR order yours from
your favorite bookstore. ISBN # 1-4137-4723-X

No greater lesson can a man learn than the lesson that
he alone is responsible for what happens to him and that
from there he is but a blink from living in his Maker's
world.

That is the lesson the kids learned that day. It was not
spelled out exactly like that but they knew that if they
wanted to get off the island surrounded by quicksand it was
up to each individual. The accepted and acted upon that
cause.

Riata came up to Sam and gave him a big hug. "Thank you
Sam. You have been a very big help in my life, you and your
family. I love you all. Thank you for showing these kids the
way. I guess it is time for me to leave. There is other work
for me to do. I never expected what happened today. It has
filled me with such reverence it is overflowing. Thank you
Sam Henry."

Riata went to Alewka, then Eloise, then Tim and then
Tom. From there she proceeded to Maria, Reno and Amenti. All
these people had been important in her life and had been of
magnificent help.

She saved her parents and her sister for last. They were
all crying and sobbing over such an amazing honor that had
just been bestowed upon their daughter/sister.

Riata had not yet married. Although it was not too late
for her to have children, she just never found the man. She
kept herself so busy with the orphans she found her
happiness in that. As she had long ago overcome death and as
she always had such intense love within her and from those
who respected her she did not have the need for a man/woman
relationship. Now, with this new situation she would be so
fulfilled it was unlikely she would wed.

Miguele, tears in his eyes, held her close. "My
wonderful, beautiful daughter. I am so proud of you and I
love you so much and so dearly I cry, for my heart cannot
contain all my happiness. It flows over. Thank you for being
my daughter, for making the decision to come live in the
body your Mother and I produced. You have always, you and
your sister, brought us much joy and pride. You will do well
in this new work, but I fear it will take you even further
from me."

"Daddy, we must both learn to share each other with the
world. Our love will not diminish and I will be home, likely
more often than I have been since I have been working here."

"You have done another wonderful job here, sweetheart.
That is why you have earned this recognition. I am proud of
you."

Sien came over to speak with the two. "That was some
ceremony. I am pleased I was here for it."

"Sien," Riata responded, "it was you who set it up. When
Jesus hugged me I was given the chance to see all things. It
was you and Sam Henry who set this whole thing up. Thank
you." Riata moved to him and hugged him dearly.

Sien was not used to such attention, he blushed. Sien
had long ago overcome death. No one knew his age for sure.
When one reaches that level time is not measured in man's
time. According to man Sien had been around for a few
centuries. According to Sien he had been around only to help
others. One day was the same as the next. His mind was not
on himself but always on others. He did not measure time, it
was meaningless.

"Miguele, Abetta, you have raised two fine daughters
here. You have done well. I must congratulate you both for
the courage to hold out loving hearts even in the midst of
chaos and poverty. That is why you were directed to Eloise.
That is why she was in Matto Grosso rather than somewhere
else. That is why she was on the sidewalk at the precise
time you came by and that is why she reacted the way she
did. You have done very well with the tools you were given.
I am proud of you both. You have been responsible for the
welfare of over a hundred children, every one of whom now
lives by higher law, and you offered up your daughters unto
your Maker's work even before you wholly understood it. You
are among the few. Your daughters take after you. That is
why it was they who decided to come live with you."

"Some things I cannot yet see, Sien. Yet I know it was a
considerable privilege to have those two girls in our
household. As to the others, I was once one of them. Then my
Maker made it possible for me to have all I ever needed.
Momma and I, we only wanted those kids from the street to
see their lives could be so much better."

"Well you certainly fixed a lot of meals, made a lot of
beds, did a lot of laundry. Those children, all, will always
remember what you and your daughters have done for them.
This woman here," and Sien put his arm around Riata, "is
slated to do great things. It is the age old law, 'He to
whom much is given, much is expected'. She fulfilled the
requirements of the law and earned the position. She chose
to do so, not us. It was her choosing. They say many are
called but few are chosen. Little does the world know it is
they who do the choosing. It is a paradox man has not yet
seen."

Sien moved over to Sam and Alewka. "Well, Mr. Henry you
have done well, I am proud of you. Thank you for your
assistance in this matter. You two have yet one more
challenge, to overcome death. Jesus has told us 'death is
the last to be overcome'. Upon such an event in your life
you shall live forever. Think not you won't be given the
opportunity. Think not either, this to be ominous. It is a
blessing we all want for you."

"Thank you, Sien, I think?" Sam laughed, as did Sien and
Alewka. Both Sam and Alewka knew this was a clue to future
events. That was fine. They would face the future together
quite happy to be alive.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

Machiavellian: How did the word "machiavellian" come to mean
"evil"?

Niccolo Machiavelli of Florence wrote a book called "The
Prince." It expounded the art of government and showed how
by treachery and other despicable acts it was possible for a
prince to achieve and uphold arbitrary power.

THINK ABOUT THIS TODAY!

I think the thing I keep saying to myself every
year...is that I want to become a better player at the
end of the year than I was at the beginning. If I can
keep doing that year after year for the rest of my
career, I'll have a pretty good career.

HA! HA! HA!

Two landscapers were working diligently alongside the
streets of a huge office complex. One would dig a hole and
the other would follow behind him and fill the hole in.

They worked up one side of a street, then down the other,
then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day
without rest, one guy digging a hole, the other guy filling
it in again.

An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't
understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole
digger, "I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting
into your work, but I don't get it -- why do you dig a hole,
only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up
again?"

The hole digger wiped his brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose
it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-man
team. But today the guy who plants the trees called in
sick."
