thePEBBLE - 11/21/05 - Tips And Tidbits
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A typical, obviously American, community. Two young people
given an opportunity for an a adventure with an attainable
financial reward. Their adventure into the inkonwn, not
restrained by dogmatic rules or community restraints, leads
them to resources that change no only the two adventurers'
attitudes, but attitudes of others.
The reader will either come away with a a feeling of
wonderment or question the writer's declared source, his
Maker, for the content.
I was not envious of the characters' adventures but enjoyed
the book as it refreshed the wonderment I had as a youth and
now as a practical adult, to "think outside the box" about
powers that are within us.

It took me back to my youth and now inspires me to "think

Does dry ice melt?
Nope. It evaporates.
Why does ice float?
It's simple, really. Water has a greater molecular density
when it's in liquid form then as a solid. So as a solid, it
floats.

Kettering to honor co-founder of Apple
Wozniak to receive honorary doctorate
THE FLINT JOURNAL FIRST EDITION
By Shena Abercrombie sabercrombie@flintjournal.com
810.766.6307
FLINT - Steve Wozniak, who helped revolutionize the world's
way of life by co-founding Apple Computers Inc., will
receive an honorary degree from Kettering University.
Wozniak will receive an honorary doctor of engineering
degree during Kettering's winter commencement ceremony Dec.
10.
Finding a classroom, office or home without an offspring of
the home computer that the so-called "Wizard of Woz" and
then-partner Steve Jobs created in the 1970s would be
difficult today.
In starting Apple, Wozniak and Jobs helped create an
industry that led to computers in many American households.
Before Apple came on the scene, students would've been
forced to do their homework longhand unless they access to
computers that then often took up an entire room.
Still, some Kettering students admit they barely know
Wozniak's name - when they think of computer legends, they
think of such folks as Microsoft's Bill Gates. But Wozniak's
still a superstar to some on campus.
"I just learned about it, and I jumped up and down two feet
off the floor," said electrical engineering professor James
Gover. "Having him here gives us visibility, notoriety.
You're holding hands with one of the great pioneers of
computer engineering. It says he thinks highly of
Kettering."
So how do you get such a legend to make a visit to a small
engineering school in Flint? You send him an e-mail.
Henry Kowalski, a professor of mechanical engineering at
Kettering, met Wozniak, 55, via e-mail through a mutual
acquaintance, and a friendship developed.
Kowalski sends him Kettering T-shirts, and Wozniak has sent
the professor a Father's Day gift.
"His last e-mail to me was that he's looking forward to
this, and it means a lot," Kowalski said. "He has other
honorary doctorates, but he hasn't received an honorary
doctor of engineering degree yet."

The Inflammatory Process
A Special Gift From Nature To You
PART 1 of 12
As you may know, I spend a lot of time helping people
understand their Menieres symptoms. Several times a day
people will call and we go over these. They learn how their
body functions and what happens when their body reacts in
ways they dont appreciate.
In these calls, I go over what I am about to share with you.
Why would I want to share this information with you? Because
I think it would be really helpful as additional information
when you need to make some decisions about your own health.
If you know how your body reacts naturally and how it is
meant to protect you, it would make sense to use that
knowledge with confidence. And with more knowledge and
confidence you have more control of yourself, of your health
and your environment. Would your perceptions change if you
really understood your body and how really wants to protect
you? I hope so. If you are the caregiver for other family
members, you could also explain to them what things are
happening. Obviously you will be able to make more informed
decisions for yourself and guide others a little more
confidently.
We are dealing with a concept that is with you twenty four
hours a day, seven days a week: year in and year out. My
goal is to help you recognize its presence and be informed
as to what to expect. So I hope that by giving you easy to
understand explanations and lots of examples, in very
simplistic terms, you can now understand things better and
can think a little differently. This information is not
meant to be used for any medical treatment. For that, please
consult your medical practioner.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

----------------
There was great joy at the orphanage. After the impact
of the occasion had passed there was enthusiastic
spontaneous happiness for Riata, from all present.
For Riata it was a double and triple event. She loved to
have her friends around. That gave her enormous pleasure.
Then there was the blessing itself that changed her life.
And lastly, the fact the kids had all crossed the veil of
simplicity caused her to cry.
All present knew she cried because she was happy. Her
love for everyone was always so deep, so intense, so
personal, she wanted nothing for everyone but the best of
life.
Tom and Tlang had watched the event and were, of course,
now participating. They had watched Sam and Mazunta cause
the kids to activate higher law. They had watched all of the
days affairs. He took her hand and began to walk away. He
wanted to find some spot where the pair of them could be
alone for a couple minutes. They could have vanished and
gone anywhere in the world, but they just wanted to walk to
somewhere close.
They found partial "aloneness" by stepping behind a
large tree. Tom took Tlang in his arms and held her. He
kissed her deep and passionately. In almost animal like
reaction Tlang kissed him back. It took his breath away. She
ground her groin into him and in the flash of an eye he was
breathing so hard he couldn't believe it. He touched her all
over. She responded similarly but with the force of a tiger.
"I love you." Tom panted into her ear, only to hear the
same thing back from her.
Tom knew this was going to get out of hand. He wanted to
kiss her, hold her, touch her, but her animal like,
aggressive, positive response threw him. Where was that
coming from? He loved it but it threw him off balance.
He stopped kissing her and pushed her away from him.
"Tlang, we can't. Not here, and not now. We must wait."
She was disappointed. She was hot. With no idea what
came over her she knew she only wanted Tom. Her lust was
intense, more so than she had ever felt.
Red faced and flushed, they came out from behind the
tree. Their clothes were disheveled and their hair was
messed up. For all the world it would appear as if they had
just engaged in having a sexual relationship.
Tom knew others had seen. He was a little embarrassed.
Tlang knew, too, but to her she was perfectly entitled. Her
attitude was that if someone saw, so what?
They walked back to the group, hand in hand. Visions of
what might have been were racing through Tom's head. He
would squeeze her hand and she would squeeze back.
"Coffee anyone?" Alewka was making the rounds. It was
time for a beverage. Tom was glad his Mother was doing that.
It took folks attention away from him and Tlang.
Alewka came over to him and asked if he wanted a coffee.
He accepted. Tlang did too.
"You two really ought to think about marriage." She
spoke the words softly but they hit Tom like a bomb had gone
off in his head.\
"Oh, Mom, I hope we were not rude. Were we that obvious?
"Yes."
Tom blushed, again.
Billy Hendriks came over. "Hi Bro! You two really got
something going, huh?"
"I guess you could say that, Billy. We fell in love with
one another and now we can't keep our hands off one another.
It's hard, Billy. Sometimes I wonder if waiting is worth
it."
"Whoa! Slow down there, Bro. Slow down! The heat of the
moment will pass." Billy winked at Tlang. She broke out
laughing. The tension was broken.
"Why don't you spend some time with me, you two. I
haven't see you two for far too long."
"Sure, Billy, what do you want to do?"
"For one thing I'd like to just sit down and talk. Tom,
since you've taken up with this evil woman here I haven't
seen you. That's months." Billy ducked as a blow from Tlang
was on it's way to his shoulder.
Tlang's blow went right over top of Billy's now crouched
body and it hit Tom, hard.
"Oh! Ilm so sorry."
That didn't cut it for Tom. He was after her. She ran,
laughing. for she thought it ended up a real joke. "That'll
teach him to stop when I want him." she was thinking.
Suddenly her feet left her. She went flying through the
air and landed on her hands and knees. That hurt. Yet she
didn't have time to baby herself or feel sorry for herself.
She looked around and there was Tom coming at her on the
run. She laughed some more and was off again.
Tom didn't know what happened to him either. His feet
were suddenly taken out from under him. He went tumbling.
Down he went but he twisted in mid air and fell on his side.
His shoulder was ripped and torn, his hips were sore and
torn and his knees took a beating.
Tlang had stopped and turned to look at him. She was
laughing so hard she was out of breath.
The chase was over. She walked back to be with Tom. He
had caused himself to sit up, but he wasn't going any further than that.
She came up to him and sat beside him, taking his arm
and hugging it. "You see Mister. That's what happens when
you try to mess with me!" She was teasing him.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
WHY DO WE SAY IT?
Lallapaloosa: Where does the term "lallapaloosa" come from?
"Lallapaloosa" comes from a provincialism of County Mayo,
Ireland - allay-frozee, meaning a "sturdy fellow." The Irish
adopted it from the French - who, when they landed at
Killala in 1798, repeatedly shouted, Allez-fusil! - meaning
"Forward the muskets".

THINK ABOUT THIS TODAY!
The time to relax is when you don't have time for it.
---- Sydney J. Harris (1917-1986)
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
HA! HA! HA!
To Whom it May Concern:
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities
of an 8 year old again. I want to go to McDonald's and think
that it's a four star restaurant. I want to sail sticks
across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks. I
want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat
them. I want to play dodgeball at recess and paint with
watercolors in art. I want to lie under a big oak tree and
run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple. When all
you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery
rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know
what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was
to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the
things that should make you worried or upset.
I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest
and good. I want to believe that anything is possible.
Somewhere in our youth, we matured and learned too much.
There are nuclear weapons, war, prejudice, and abused
children. Lies, unhappy marriages, illness, pain, and death.
A world where companies poison our water and our soil, and
children kill. What happened to the time when we thought
that everyone would live forever, because we didn't grasp
the concept of death? When the worst thing in the world was
if someone took the jump rope from you or picked you last
for kickball. I want to be oblivious to the complexities of
life and be overly excited by the little things again. I
want to return to the days when children played hide-n-seek
outside instead of being glued to a television, when video
games were as harmless as Pac-Man...instead of
spine-ripping, blood-splattering mind numbers like Mortal
Combat, and TV still had some shows on that weren't about
sex, killing, and lies.
I remember being naive and thinking everyone was happy
because I was. Afternoons were spent climbing trees and
fences and riding my bike. I never worried about time,
bills, or where I was going to find the money to fix my car.
I used to wonder what I was going to do or be when I grew
up, not worry about what I'll do if this doesn't work out. I
want to live simple again.
I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes,
mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more
days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor
bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones. I want to
believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth,
justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making
angels in the snow.
So.... here's my checkbook and my car-keys, my credit card
bills and my 401K statements. I am officially resigning from
adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll
have to catch me first, cause, "Tag! You're it."
