thePEBBLE - 11/24/05 - Be Someone Who Cares
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A typical, obviously American, community. Two young people
given an opportunity for an a adventure with an attainable
financial reward. Their adventure into the inkonwn, not
restrained by dogmatic rules or community restraints, leads
them to resources that change no only the two adventurers'
attitudes, but attitudes of others.
The reader will either come away with a a feeling of
wonderment or question the writer's declared source, his
Maker, for the content.
I was not envious of the characters' adventures but enjoyed
the book as it refreshed the wonderment I had as a youth and
now as a practical adult, to "think outside the box" about
powers that are within us.

What's the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran's
Day?
While Memorial Day honors those who have sacrificed their
lives for their country, Veteran's Day is dedicated to honor
all men and women, both living and deceased, who have served
in the nation's armed forces. Veteran's Day is celebrated on
November 11th, regardless of the day of the week on which it
falls.
What are "chuddies"?
The Oxford English Dictionary's latest update includes the
word "chuddies," which is South Asian slang for underpants.
The Times newspaper reports the term is used in the popular
British TV sitcom "Goodness Gracious Me?" and the show's
catch-phrase "Kiss my chuddies!"

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------
Be Someone Who Cares
A beggar walks up to a well-dressed woman who is shopping on
Rodeo Drive and says, "I haven't eaten anything in four
days."
She looked at him and said, "God, I wish I had your
willpower."
We do get going on our own paths, don't we. How often do we
have an opportunity to help someone, but let is slip right
out of our hands?
The woman in the joke appears to have been so wrapped up in
herself she had no clue what the beggar was talking about.
While it is just a joke, how many real times does that same
thing happen to each of us.
Some of you will say it never happens. To that I say "good".
Yet is that true? Are you saying you really and truly
understood what the last child that spoke to you, was
speaking about?
How many times have we failed to encourage someone we work
with? How many people go past us without our caring smile?
How many miss out on the charm, encouragement and aid a few
simple words of caring from you could offer.
Why not make a point this week, of finding one person a day
to talk to and encourage? Sometimes a simple and caring "You
can do it!" said with belief and conviction in your voice,
can turn a life around completely.
Think of the times it has happened to you, and how it was a
help when you needed it. All of us are human and can use
caring encouragement.
Life is meant to be shared. It is in the giving of
encouragement, the caring about the welfare of another, the
few simple words from you, that makes your life and the life
of those around you, so much better.
Funny isn't it? For the cost of only a few words uttered out
of your mouth, life can be made so much better for someone
else. Did you know you had that power?
Those words cost nothing, yet give so much.
Can you imagine what your world would be like if you made a
point of saying kind encouraging words only? The world would
beat a path to your door. Everyone would want to be near
you, just to hear you speak.
In encouraging others, in listening to others, you
dramatically enhance your own life. It is measurable,
visible. Try it.

The Inflammatory Process
A Special Gift From Nature To You
PART 4 of 12
I dont want you to see this as a very complicated or
process. See it as a basic, vital, automatic function of
your body. Can you then understand what happens if you dont
have it? You would be in a real mess! I want to walk you
through several examples and show what happens to you
physically as your body gets into inflammatory action or
reaction. There are many articles explaining this automatic
response. My hope is that once you understand this a little
better, you may not be so quick to reach for a drug, but
instead allow your body to do its thing. Now that you have
been made aware of it, you may not be so quick to take it
for granted.
We have been programmed to get medical advice for any sort
of situation. But is that always necessary? If you have more
knowledge, maybe you could find some practical solutions.
Ill give you examples where common sense seems to be
missing, yet could possibly clear up a problem quite quickly
and easily. Can you already see your bodys response when
you have hives from a bee sting? Or sinusitis, appendicitis,
or (coronary) artery disease? (The itis means inflammation
or infection: medical terminology.)
There is much research going on. It is felt that long-term
or chronic inflammation results in oxidative stress. I
printed an article from the Time magazine February 23, 2004
Inflammation Is The Killer The Surprising Link Between
Inflammation and Asthma, Heart Attacks, Cancer, Alzheimers,
And Other Diseases. written by Christine Gorman and Alice
Park. I was very disappointed in the level of knowledge
required in order to understand the information. You almost
needed to be a scientist. Just reading this article inspired
me to help you understand your body a little better and
explain how the inflammatory process acts on your body.
In the following examples, I will also point out when the
result is internal or external. Being internal or
external reflects on how the resulting fluid or swelling
(edema) spreads out. But the idea is that either way, the
fluid HAS to go somewhere. If it spreads internally, it may
press down on structures that change the next step. That
will become apparent as I work through each idea.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.

He quietly rose from the table, his heart thumping, and
walked to the door. If this was the police he didn't want
his girls to watch what might happen. He signaled Abetta to
have everyone stay where they were.
Miguele poked his head out the door. To his surprise it
was the lady from last night. He waved his hand behind him,
signaling to Abetta and the girls to come, then he broke
into a run to meet the lady.
"Missy, how you find my place? Thank you, thank you,
thank you. My family is all healthy like you say and we have
lots of food in the house."
He fell to his knees in front of her, an expression of
gratitude and submission.
"Come, Miguele, rise. I came here today for another
purpose." Eloise looked at the house and standing in the
doorway was a woman and two little girls.
"Come, Missy, meet my family." Miguele noticed Eloise
was looking toward the door.
They walked toward the house and Miguele was excited.
This was apparently not a punishment session. "Momma, this
is the lady who helped us last night."
"Yes, Miguele, I know. I can tell by the way you thank
her."
Eloise held out her hand to Abetta. "My name is Eloise
and you are Abetta, and this is Oomano and this is Riata,
right?"
Abetta was surprised at how Eloise knew all the names.
"Yes, Missy Eloise. That is right. Come in away from the hot
sun. Can I get you a beverage?"
"Do you have coffee. I haven't had one for many months."
"Yes, we have coffee. Sit down. Be comfortable."
Eloise sat at the dining room/kitchen table. The house
wasn't really divided up that way. This was one large room
and the table was something put in between the chesterfield
suite and the kitchen sink and stove.
"You have a nice house here. I like it." Eloise was
complimenting Miguele and Abetta, who thanked her. She was
emitting love, big time. It drew the girls to her
immediately as well as Abetta and Miguele.
"Missy Eloise, thank you for helping us last night. We
were in terrible shape. Miguele has not been able to find
work and we were all hungry."
"Thank not me. If Miguele had not made his plight known
it could not have been fixed. You are welcome but remember
this comes not from me but from your Maker. It is your Maker
you must thank."
Both Abetta and Miguele looked at Eloise with a
perplexed look on their face. She did not respond to it but
rather let it go. She knew there would be other times and
places. She loved the girls and got involved in
conversations with them.
All the while this was going on Abetta was brewing the
coffee and she and Miguele looked at each other, wondering
why this lady was here today.
"How did you find us, Missy?"
"For me, Miguele, that was not hard, but if I were to
explain it to you it would sound silly. It is important only
that I am here."
Abetta served coffee to all three of the adults and
lemonade to the two girls. The two girls were staying close
to the new lady. They liked her.
Eloise sipped on her coffee. "I no longer have need for
the truck parked outside. I must return to my home in the
United States and I cannot use the truck anymore. I brought
it here for you. It is yours."
"But Missy, we cannot pay you for it. We have no money.
I don't even think I can put gas in it. Thank you very much
for you generosity but I don't understand." Now Miguele was
perplexed.
"You can use it to earn an income so you and your family
will be looked after. This is not just a truck. It is a very
special truck. It will never get dirty. It will never rust.
It is full of fuel and will never need to be filled again,
no matter how much you run it. It will never again need oil
or mechanical repairs. It will never get into an accident
and it will run as long as you need it, then it will runs
some more."
Miguele thought he was hearing things. No truck can be
like that. He was beginning to think Missy Eloise was going
crazy, then he remembered the food that was put in the house
last night, in his absence.
"Missy, you are too kind. How can I possible repay you?"
"By realizing this has come from your Maker and by
spreading love wherever you go. You Maker has given to you
and you must give to others."
Now Abetta was on her knees next to Eloise. She had
tears in her eyes. She was beginning to grasp what was going
on. This was truly a miracle. Not only did they get food
last night but now they had the means to earn an income for
the rest of their lives. She was not mechanically inclined.
She didn't know about all that stuff about the truck not
needing fuel, never getting dirty, never getting in an
accident. All she saw was this wonderful lady whose aura was
a brilliant white and shining out from her about a foot, was
here, doing this. This lady was offering love, peace,
prosperity. Abetta took Eloise's hand and kissed it, tears
dropping all over it.
Eloise put her hand on Abetta's shoulder. "You are
welcome. It is your Maker who makes this possible. Thank you
for the coffee. I must leave now, but if I may, I would like
to come visit again. I like your family."

WHY DO WE SAY IT?
Sail Close To The Wind: Why do we say a person who is
following a course that is close to being illegal is
"sailing close to the wind"?
Because a sailing vessel "sailing close to the wind" is in
danger of being caught by a gust and jibing or keeling over
- and so being swamped. So, too, a person engaging in a
practice that is just short of being illegal is in danger of
being caught.

A woman went into a hardware store to purchase a bale of
peat moss. She gave a personal check in payment and said to
the clerk, "I suppose you will want some identification."
He replied, without hesitation, "No ma'am, that won't be
necessary."
"How come?" asked the woman.
"Crooks don't usually buy peat moss," answered the clerk.
