In American folklore, who was John Henry?
John Henry, a legendary black American of extraordinary
strength, was the hero of a popular American folk ballad.
The song narrates his contest with a steam drill, in which
John Henry crushed more rock than did the machine but
nevertheless died of the strain. John Henry is often seen
as a symbol of man's doomed struggle against the machine.
According to Encyclopedia Britannica, some factual
basis exists for the ballad of John Henry: "When the
Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad drove the Big Bend Tunnel
through the Allegheny Mountains in West Virginia, from
1870 to 1873, steel drivers hammered steel drills into the
rock to make holes into which to pack explosives. The
modern steam drill was introduced into the South in 1870;
hence, it is possible that the comparative efficiency of
the two methods could have been tested at Big Bend."

suggests that adults with hobbies that exercise their
brains - such as reading, chess, or jigsaw puzzles - are
two and a half times less likely to have Alzheimer's
disease later in life. Bad news for television addicts:
leisure limited to watching TV may actually increase
the risk of Alzheimer's. The results are based on a
survey of people in their seventies. Researchers
analyzed the leisure activities in young and middle
adulthood of 193 Alzheimer's patients and 358 control
patients (people without symptoms of Alzheimer's).

bottle of milk one morning. The bottle broke spilling the
milk everywhere. That annoyance was enough for Van Wormer to
come up with the idea.

Cornpone and Treewood

Cornpone Taggart and Hamstrung Treewood are a
couple country hicks. Cornpone, known as "Pone" or
"Old Pone" earns his living on the internet, and has
since he left what schooling he had. He's a lazy cuss,
and figured the internet was the way to earn the kind
of living he wanted. He thought it beat the backbreaking
sweat soaking work that was the kind you could
get in his town.
Hamstrung Treewood, didn't pay much attention to
computers in school and went out to work in the
backbreaking world in town. He had been without
work for a while and Pone was teaching him how to
set up a business on the internet.
The story continues.

"I's wonders whats yous sees from here Pone! Yous jus'
never moves. Yous don' sees nuthin'! Yer life mus' be
awful lonely an' all?" said Hamstrung Treewood. Strung
had been sitting with Cornpone Taggart for near an
hour, just chatting about nothing in particular.
Some of the town kids had been there to watch Pone
whittle, but he was not far enough into his latest piece
for them to wait until it was finished, so they left.
"Strung, I's likely sees more from this here spot than you
an' all the rest o' this town sees all put tagether. I's just
sits here nice an' quiet an see lotsa stuff. I's sees people
scurrying ta work. I's sees them ever day, an' ever day
theys changes jus' a little. Fer instance, has yous noticed
Mr. Grumble's limp? He's agettin' a case o' gout. Has
yous noticed young Sally Sparks lately? She's agonna
have a baby. An' whens the last time yous stopped an'
took a real look at the fall colors Strung?" responded Pone.
"Gosh, Pone, I's didn' knows Sally was agonna have a
baby. I's don' even think my wife knows." said Strung.
"Tha's whats I's means Strung. I's athinkin Sally hasn'
tol' too many yet, fer some reason. I's aguessin' tha' with
her man away workin' an' all she jus' wan's ta tell him
first. Tha' makes sense ta me, anyways it's her bisness,
an' not mine or your'n." said Pone.
"Maybe yous sees more'n I figgered Pone." suggested Strung.
"Strung does yous ever go ahuntin' rabbit?" asked Pone.
"Naw! Theys too small. Yous gots ta git lots fer ta have
a meal." answered Strung.
"Well tha's true. But wha' I's gittin' at is the way ta hun'
rabbits is ta git yerself out in the bush where yous sees
sign. Then yous is better off ta sit down an' jus' start
alookin'. Sooner or later the rabbits will start ta move
an' tha's when yous can get them. When its yous doin
the movin' theys stay still, an' yous likely walks by near
ever rabbit in the bush. But when yous sits an' watches,
tha's when yous sees 'em. Life is like that Strung. If'n
yous takes the time ta observe an' watch then yous sees
much more than when yous is movin' an' talkin' ." said Pone.
"I's aguessin' yous is right Pone. I's never though' 'bout
it much, bin too busy, I's guess." said Strung.
"Sure yous has bin too busy. Yous has bin too busy ta
see yer innynet bisness too. Wha's yous has gots ta do
is take time ta study wha' yous is a doin' an' think it
through. Sometimes deecisions taken too fast can harm
ya. Think on tha' Strung, fer the nex' week. Think on how
bein' quiet an' watchin' can be a big help ta yous an'
wha' yous is adoin'." suggested Pone.

Windows XP automatically assigns to your user account.
Customizing your picture is fairly easy.
After you log on, click the Start button and choose Control
Panel. Click the User Accounts icon and select Change
My Picture. You can either select one of the other existing
pictures or browse to your My Pictures folder on your hard
drive to locate the picture you want to use.

Do You Have Trouble Staying Awake After A Meal?
This Might Be The Reason...
(Healthy Habits Aren't Convenient . . . They're A Choice.)

Do you ever find yourself sleepy and unable to concentrate
after eating a substantial meal? And you ate because you
were hungry and needed to get some work done? The last
thing you need is a nap, but that would feel soooo good right
now... just to close your eyes for a few minutes. Not a good
idea in case the boss walks in...
A little while ago someone mentioned that they fell asleep
after lunch and/or dinner almost all the time. I decided to
do a little research because I think most of us have done this
at one time or another, but not routinely. The term for this
condition is called post-prandial fatigue: "post" being "after"
and "grandial" being "meal". It is typical for people to experience
some fatigue after eating a mid-day meal. But I have never
thought there could be an underlying problem. I discovered
that there is a problem, but there is also a solution and it's a
pleasant one! There could be several reasons why this is
happening: the composition of the meal components, i.e. fats,
proteins, and carbohydrates, lack of water in your body
(dehydration), irregular or skipped meals, and sugar spikes
from big meals.
There are other reasons, but these are good ones to start with.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

A loud voice boomed out within the confines of the
church. It was so authoritative the very walls and seats
within the church shook.
"Heathen, Murderers ALL!" the voice struck at the heart
of everyone present.
"All present in this room pretend to be speaking for God.
You have no authority from God. You honor a man who
was a murderer. He killed for his own good. All present
in this room participated in that murder. You killed a
woman at the orphanage hoping to gain much revenue
for the church. You have been foiled by truth. The
Cardinal was killed as a result of God's Law, 'As ye sow,
so shall ye reap.' Those in this room with similar guilt
will suffer from the law as they shall receive what they
have given. All are guilty of complicity. You have installed
a man into the position of Cardinal who has bloody
hands. You all shall suffer."
The voice stopped, but the walls and seats kept shaking
in reverberation with the voice.
Those present cowered. Many bent in prayer. Some
even hollered and screamed.
The room lit up with a brilliant light as if from heaven.
From the top rear came an image. The room was scared
beyond the normal. Was this going to be the punishment
from God?
Riata touched down lightly at about the center of the
center aisle. She began to walk forward. No one moved,
not even the Pope's bodyguards. They were petrified.
"The men in this room conspired to kill me. They sent a
parishioner with a handgun to shoot me, which he did.
He was later paid his thirty pieces of silver, and, like in
times gone by, he promptly went out and killed himself.
The order came from the Cardinal in the presence of all
the men here this day. They say they represent God, yet
you feel you have the right to take human life in pursuit
of your objectives? This church, since antiquity, has
been responsible for more deaths of human kind than
any other single cause of death in the entire world. All
this you do to further the aims of the church which you
falsely believe is God's work. Be informed God has no
part of it. None in this room is free of sin NONE! And
none in this room is free of having wrongly coerced the
public into a false belief the church correctly speaks for
God. You take people from God to bring them to the
church. You should be advising them to seek God within
themselves, but you are afraid it would take them from
the church and your revenues would suffer. You prefer
to keep them under control and subjection than to offer
them truth. Be warned, you shall reap the reward of
your actions." Riata was firm, authoritative and
untouchable.
Those present in the room heard every word in their
ears, in their hearts, in their souls. It shook them to the
very center of their beings. The truth, there, reverberated
with an authority that scared them. None missed the
message.
As a half hearted defense, one of the Cardinals began
to argue and call for Riata to be removed. Two men
stepped forward.
Suddenly there were four more figures beside Riata.
Romero, Mazunta, Eloise, and Sien. The two men
stopped in their tracks. Not one in this room could
come near the five.
The Bishop, now Cardinal, melted into the woodwork.
He had such fear he was powerless to do anything.
His stomach was in such knots he was nauseous.
Fear gripped every cell within him.
The priest, his compatriot, felt the same. He had
thought this was all over. Now he realized it would
never be over.
The Pope, too, was enlightened on the true
circumstances of the Cardinal's death and he, too,
knew what this image was speaking of.
That there were now five spoke of the power they
had. No man in this room could stand up to them.
Everyone present feared deeply. Some lost
their continence.
From their level of understanding they thought
these images represented angels speaking truth. It
was entirely beyond them that each of them could
likewise follow the word to live by higher law. They,
too, were victims of their own teachings.

Another day of sales calls and many discussions on the
present project.
It dawned on me I have not spoken of what is
happening with my MLM friend lately. Three
things are happening. The first is I have purchased his
products and have been using them. Much to my surprise
I have noticed, within me, changes I like. I have come to
be a believer in his system, and am thinking that the very
few who are believers are likely on a chosen path. It is
truly amazing what cleansing and feeding does to your
body. Any maladies you might have, serious or not, are
likely to disappear under the proper nutrition.
The second is that we are still in the midst of testing
the autoresponder letters. Those of you who volunteered,
I appreciate very much your participation.
And thirdly we are in the midst of preparation of
the site and other things.

her infant daughter. When they landed, they were met
in the waiting area by her father, who took the baby while
she proceeded to the baggage claim area. Standing there
alone waiting to claim her baggage, she was absent-mindedly
holding the baby's pacifier. She noticed a flight attendant
staring at her, then at the pacifier, then back at her. Finally,
