Can animals predict earthquakes? Can humans?
Humans cannot. No scientist, including those from
the US Geological Survey, has ever been able to
predict a major earthquake. They don't know how
to. They CAN use scientific data to calculate the
probability of a quake happening in a particular
area. For example, scientists estimate that over the
next three decades the probability of a major quake
in the San Francisco Bay area is 67 percent and
60 percent in Southern California. Animals, on the
other hand, have been observed to behave strangely
just before an earthquake happens. Dogs, cats,
snakes, horses, and even fish have been known to
change their behavior immediately prior to a quake.
One fish in a high school biology lab in California
reportedly would flip on its side before earthquakes.

Is there earthquake weather?
Aristotle thought so. The ancient Greek philosopher
believed that earthquakes were caused by winds
trapped in subterranean caves. This theory led to a
belief in earthquake weather. Since winds were trapped
underground, people thought that the weather would
be hot and calm before a quake (when the winds would
be released). Later theories proposed that quakes were
preceded by cloudy, calm weather or strong winds and
meteors. In fact, earthquakes are not linked to weather
at all and can happen in ANY weather at any time of the
year in any climate. Earthquakes originate miles
underground, far from the influence of wind, temperature,
barometric pressure, and precipitation.

Some Folks Live By Fear Alone!

A honeymoon couple is in the Watergate Hotel.
The new bride is concerned and asked, "What if
the place is still bugged?"
The groom says "Hmm... Good point. I'll look
for a bug."
He looks behind the drapes, behind the pictures,
under the rug . . . "AHA!" he shouts!
Sure enough, under the rug was a small disc
shaped plate, with four screws. He gets his Swiss
army knife, unscrews the screws, throws them
and the plate out the window.
The next morning, the hotel manager asks the
newlyweds "How was your room? How was the
service? How was your stay at the Watergate Hotel?"
Curious, the groom says, "And why, sir, are you
asking me all of these questions?"
The hotel manager says "Well, the room
UNDER yours complained of the chandelier
falling on them!"
This dumb little joke is too real for a great many folks.
What would the honeymooners be doing that would
have him so concerned about a "bug under the rug"? In
truth - - - nothing.
Yet the joke points out how paranoid some people
are about everything. There are those who are still
afraid to use their credit cards online. There are
those who are afraid of identity theft. There are
those who are afraid of being spied upon. There
are those who are afraid of the boss, afraid to be
embarrassed, afraid to lose a paycheck, afraid
of the kids getting hurt, afraid of this and afraid of
that.
In fact there are so many people afraid of something,
anything, that it might be said that marketers are
having a "field day" just taking advantage of that fear.
Some live in a continual state of tension, based on
fear. They never take charge of their own lives.
Unfortunately that continual tension will kill them.
The human body cannot take continual tension without
breaking out into some serious malady. It is long
established medical fact tension, stress, fear, are
huge catalysts for major disease.
I know of a woman who fears, literally, everything
in and about her life. Guess what she reported the
other day? You got it. She now has cancer.
I am not a medical doctor so I cannot give you the
specifics of what happens. I do know that stress,
tension, fear, set up all the conditions within and
without the body that allow these conditions to be
self generating. The only way to stop it is to take
control of you, of your life, to face your fears and
boot them out of your life.
Have a little faith. Do you not know your life will go
on as good? Do you not know that without fear
life actually becomes better, more prosperous,
and happy?
The human body and life were built to be happy,
tension free. Fear is a defense mechanism to protect
us against real danger, not imagined danger. It is
there to stimulate the fight/flee response system.
Life lived continually in a state of fear over things
one can do nothing about is a life lost.
Take charge today. Take a look at your fears and
make a decision who is in charge of your life. You?
Or your emotions? Living in fear is just not worth
the pain. Neither is there any basis at all for most
of the fear.
Start using affirmations to overcome your fears. Start
taking charge of your life. Do anything and everything
you can to eliminate all fear from your life and feelings.
Give it a try.

"THE IMMUNE SYSTEM The immune system protects the body from
potentially harmful substances by recognizing and responding to
so-called antigens. Antigens are large molecules (usually
proteins) on the surface of cells, viruses, fungi, or bacteria.
Some non-living substances such as toxins, chemicals, drugs, and
foreign particles (such as a splinter) can be antigens.
Substances that contain these antigens are recognized and
destroyed by the immune system. Even your own body cells have
proteins that are antigens (these include a group of antigens
called HLA antigens). Your immune system learns to see these
antigens as "normal" and does not usually react against them."

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

This was making Bob Hunter a little nervous. He had
always considered Sam Henry one of those people
far above him, out of reach, so to speak. That was one
of the reasons why he had been so vehemently against
Sam when the church was sponsoring that "of the devil"
campaign. Sam was not then and likely would never
be a friend to lose. Bob Hunter, therefore could feel
quite free to malign Sam, for Bob had nothing to lose.
He could hate from a distance. Now it was coming
back to hit him right in the face.
"I - I - I'm not sure that's a good idea. What if he isn't
home?" he said, trying to find any excuse to avoid
facing Sam.
"Mr. Hunter, I can tell what is going through your mind.
It is one of the things that happens when you live by
higher law, you can pick up thought waves from others.
I know what happened with that church thing. Sam knows
what happened with that church thing. It is over and Sam
and I have both moved on long ago. Do not let your past
actions prevent you from what could be one of the most
powerful friendships in life you could ever have. What
you do this day is what counts. You will find Sam to be
a nice guy. Stop your worrying." said David.
In the meantime David had already advised Sam that he
and Bob Hunter were coming over to visit.
Sam Henry was standing in his driveway when Bob Hunter
drove up to the curb in front of the Henry household. Sam
came over to the car.
"Hello David! How are you? It is good to see you. Up to
the folks for a visit? Pam with you?" Sam Henry was full
of questions.
"Hello Sam. It is good to be here. I haven't seen you for a
while. Pam and I came to see the folks and Bob and I
were just out driving around. Thought we would stop
over. That okay?" said David.
"Certainly." answered Sam as he was walking to the rear
of the car to greet Bob.
"Hello Bob! How are you. Welcome. I'm glad you came
to visit." said Sam. He was broadcasting a strong love.
Bob Hunter "felt" completely free and at home here
regardless of the thoughts racing through his head. Sam,
somehow, made him feel very welcome, even deep
inside him.
"Hello Sam, I'm fine. I hope we aren't intruding." said Bob.
"Not at all Bob, I was just trying to stay out of Alewka's
way so she wouldn't find something to put me to work.
Now you guys have come in time to save me from that
possibility. Here, come on in. Let's have a coffee."
answered Sam with a twinkle in his eye.
"I'll bet you're sure happy to see the kids, Bob." observed
Sam, "They've been away for quite some time. Did you
know my Eloise got married?" asked Sam.
"Pam and David just told us. Congratulations. I'll bet that
makes you very happy." said Bob.
"Oh! You bet. Now she is with child and going to make
us grandparents. We're thrilled." answered Sam.
"Alewka, " Sam hollered as they went into the house,
"Come, look who's here!"
Sam's wife Alewka Henry came around the kitchen
doorway into the living room of the house and over to
the front door to greet the guests.
"Oh! Hello David. How are you? It is so good to see you."
she came over and gave David a big hug.
"Hello Mr. Hunter. It is good to see you. Please come in,
both of you, and let's have a coffee and visit for a while.
Gee we haven't seen either of you for a long while."
Alewka, too, was broadcasting a strong love.
Bob Hunter could not remember ever being in a home
where he felt so at ease and welcome. The Henry
household was a unique place. Sam and Alewka, both,
made him feel welcome in such a real way he
completely relaxed.
Visiting over coffee brought everyone up to date and
really enlightened Bob Hunter on the fact Sam and Alewka
were real people just like himself.
"How is that little girl, David? I haven't seen her for a long
time." asked Alewka.
"She's just fine Mrs. Henry. Growing like a weed. Little Maz
is fine too. They thrive down there in that climate. They're
growing strong and healthy everyday." said David.

Billie and Tillie were delighted when finally their
long wait to adopt a baby came to an end. The
adoption center called and told them they had a
wonderful Russian baby boy and the couple
took him without hesitation.
On the way home from the adoption center, they
stopped by the local college so they each could
enroll in night courses. After they filled out the
form, the registration clerk inquired, "What ever
possessed you to study Russian?"
The couple said proudly, "We just adopted a
Russian baby and in a year or so he'll start to talk.
