Announcing the new Built-in Orderly Organized Knowledge
device (BOOK). It's a revolutionary breakthrough in technology:
no wires, no electric circuits, no batteries, nothing to be
connected or switched on. It's so easy to use even a child
can operate it. Compact and portable, it can be used
anywhere--even sitting in an armchair by the fire--yet it is
powerful enough to hold as much information as a
CD-ROM disk.
Here's how it works: Each BOOK is constructed of
sequentially numbered sheets of paper, each capable of
holding thousands of bits of information. These pages are
locked together with a custom-fit device called a binder that
keeps the sheets in their correct sequence. The user scans
each sheet optically, registering information directly into
his or her brain. A flick of the finger takes the user to the
next sheet.
The BOOK may be taken up at any time and used by
merely opening it. The "browse" feature allows the user to
move instantly to any sheet and to move forward or
backward as desired. Most BOOKs come with an "index"
feature that pinpoints the exact location of any selected
information for instant retrieval. An optional "BOOKmark"
accessory allows the user to open the BOOK to the exact
place left in a previous session--even if the BOOK has
been closed. BOOKmarks fit universal design standards;
thus a single BOOKmark can be used in BOOKs by
various manufacturers.
Portable, durable, and affordable, the BOOK is the
entertainment wave of the future, and many new titles are
expected soon, due to the surge in popularity of its
programming tool, the Portable Erasable-Nib Cryptic
Intercommunication Language Stylus (PENCILS).
Well! Couched in those terms a book appears to be one of
the most modern of all technological advances. Interesting
isn't it. Some things just get better with age.
The more we advance technologically, the smarter we think
we are, yet what would we do without books? The fact is the
book is the cornerstone of our advancement in any direction.
It is the place of record, of ideas, of mind stimulation. Without
the book we would have very little of what we have today,
including this wonderful box called the computer.
I was amazed at this little article, above. It made me think
that no matter how advanced I think I am I still need the
book. Incredible isn't it?
I am glad of that. Books, for my entire life have been my
best friends. I cannot begin to tell you where books have
taken me, and continue to do so. Life is enriched because
of books, to the point where real meaning and purpose
can be experienced by anyone.
Those who read are privileged people. They are the
enlightened ones, the ones who advance in life and who
can, if they wish, enjoy life and all it has to offer. That is
what a book can do to one's life.
Besides being the vault into which is poured the sum total
of man's experience in earth a book opens up our future.
Out of the pages of any book comes ideas that change
lives and make the world a better place. Man's mind can
absorb, assimilate and integrate ideas from books. In many
cases a book is the only resource.
So love books folks. They are the storage place for all that
mankind has accomplished and, if you're lucky, they are
the springboard from which you can launch your
own future.

Homocysteine is a by-product of protein metabolism.
Our bodies need protein to live and one of the
essential proteins (amino acids) is called methionine.
This protein is found in large quantities in our meats,
eggs, milk, cheese, white flour, canned foods, and
highly processed foods. Our body needs this essential
amino acid to survive; however, as you can see from
the list of foods that contain large quantities of this
nutrient, we are not deficient in it. When methionine
is utilised in our bodies, it is broken down into
homocysteine, which in turn is changed into either
cysteine or back to methionine again. Cysteine and
methionine are benign products and are not harmful
in any way. However, the enzymes needed to break
down homocysteine into cysteine or back to methionine
need folic acid, vitamin B12, and vitamin B6 to function
at their optimal levels. If we are deficient in these
nutrients, the blood levels of homocysteine begin
to rise. Many researchers now believe that elevated
levels of homocysteine in our blood are directly
related to deficiencies of folic acid, vitamin B6, and
vitamin B12 in our bodies. In other words, increased
homocysteine levels are primarily due to a nutritional
deficiency. When these nutrients are given in
supplementation, these homocysteine levels fall
significantly within just a few weeks.
Well, there are really two sides to this problem. One
is the amount of methionine in your diet that your
body is required to metabolize and break down.
This requires becoming careful with the amount of
meat and dairy products you are consuming. Isn’t it
interesting that these are the same foods that are
high in saturated fat and cholesterol? Elevated
homocysteine is now being incriminated in other
diseases as well. The most recent studies have
shown the significant elevation of homocysteine in
patients with dementia, especially Alzheimer’s
dementia. Studies are also showing an increased
risk of inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, and
many other diseases in patients with elevated
homocysteine levels.

"They were fine Mae" replied Psong, lovingly.
Psong has spent so much of her life in a deformed
body she had an extraordinary love for the beauty
of life in the fullness of a perfect body. Psong
would not take long to learn higher law. She had a
natural propensity for loving her fellow human
being.
"Hello Mae." came a familiar voice from behind
her. "Hello Riata, Abetta. It is nice to see you.
We thought you might come to visit. Maria told us
what you were up to." Susan had come quietly from
the orphanage.
"Hello Sue" Mae walked over and gave Susan a
hug, as did Abetta and Riata.
Riata was anxious to see Reno and Amenti again
so she left the group and walked into the
orphanage. She was immediately greeted by Reno,
with a big hug and a kiss. Amenti, too, left what
he was doing and came to give her a hug. "How are
you guys? I have missed you. I see you have
everything well organized here. All seems to be
functioning well."
"Hi Riata. We're fine. Yes all is well. We
have many bright young children here. They seem
to gravitate here from all over. Sometimes adults
bring them here and some just saunter in by
themselves, much like back home."
"That's good. You have far more kids here than
we had back home, I'm impressed. I knew you guys
could do this. You're doing very well."
"Thank you. We knew we could do it too. Living
by higher law makes everything possible. This has
been a wonderful experience. I hear you were away
to a battle up north of here."
"Yes. I and Mom, along with Mae and Shing Li.
I sure don't know why people have to fight all the
time. It's pointless, causes pain, death,
heartache, and all for no reason. I wish mankind
would learn to mind his own business and stop
meddling in everybody elses." Riata have visions
pop through her head, of the mess and carnage they
had just left.
"Something I have noticed is there is so much
man can do to better his condition right where he
is, without trying to steal from his neighbor,
that he would actually be much better off if he
worked at it right there."
"That's true, Amenti. But most men still want
what they think is the bounty held by his
neighbors. Men still covet what is not theirs."
Riata was right. Mankind will always have wars so
long as they want what is their neighbors.
"Hello Riata. How are you?" Maria came over
and gave Riata a hug. She had been here for near a
week now. "How do you like what the kids have
done? They've been pretty busy."
"They sure have Maria. And it looks as if
they're work is taking hold. The kids are well
disciplined and well behaved. These two have done
well."
"They have copied what was done in Matto
Grosso, nearly everywhere, even with a defense
system. They don't seem to have the need for it
here, at least not yet. This is a different
environment. I don't think they will have the
problem with the church that you faced. They are
performing a service here seen by all as a
blessing and there does not appear to be any city
officials looking for favor with a church, nor a
church that wants to take over. I think they will
do well here. The kids are certainly responsive."
"I can see that. This place may well become
the cornerstone for a lot of work in China. When
these children are living by higher law they will
be a force to reckon with. Are you going to stay
for a while Maria?"
"I think so. I have found that I love the
Chinese people. These children are wonderful, the
climate is nice and the people around the area are
nice. I think I can be of help and I would like to
be."
"That's good. I'll bet Reno and Amenti could
use the help."
"We sure can. She has been a big help already.
There are so many kids here that we have been
thinking of breaking them up into smaller groups
so we can work with them a little better. Maria
can have a group to work with and she'll do well.
We like that idea." Reno was fond of Maria and had
missed her. Now that Maria lived by higher law she
was an equal and a loving friend. He maturity and
worldly experiences gave her a perspective that
helped keep the kids well balanced.
Mae, Susan, Shing Li, Abetta, Psong and the
kids came in out of the bright sunlight.
"I think we will stay for supper and maybe
your evening fire, at least for a while, but then
I think we'll head back home." Mae announced their
intentions.
