ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
If "flammable" means "capable of catching fire easily,"
then what does "inflammable" mean?
The same thing. Normally, "in" in front of a word means
"not." However, the correct word for "not burnable" is
"nonflammable". "Inflammable" comes from the Latin
"inflammare" meaning "to burn."
Who fought in the French and Indian War?
Despite its name, the French and Indian War (1754-1763)
was NOT a conflict between the French and the North
American Indians. The French and Indians, along with the
Canadians, actually fought on the same side AGAINST
the British and the American colonists.

Do You Blame Others For Your Circumstances?
by Ken Darby
PSALM 2004:
The politician is my shepherd. I'm in want.
He maketh me lie down on park benches.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He disturbeth my soul.
Yes, though I walk through the valley of
The shadow of depression and recession,
I anticipate no recovery, for he is with me.
He prepareth a reduction in my salary in
The presence of my enemies.
He anointed my small income with great losses.
My expenses runneth over.
Surely unemployment and poverty shall
Follow me all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in a mortgaged house forever.
Oh, how nice, how wonderful it is to blame others for our
circumstances. It usually means, especially when we get
sympathy, that we no longer have to exert the effort to
overcome.
That is what happens when we begin to think others are
responsible for our mess. We think we can do nothing.
We get frustrated. So we settle for a beer with those who
will listen to our complaints and we stop trying to change
our condition.
How futile it is to take this route. It is self perpetuating. The
more you complain, the less you work, the more you have
to complain about. The circle just keeps getting bigger
and bigger.
It takes guts, and a sense of competition, to get out there
and prove yourself. Complaining will never get you
anything but problems.
I one watched the movie "G.I. Jane" with Demi Moore.
In the main I thought the show was rather brutal, yet it
did make one point that has remained with me since.
That point was "I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself!"
And that is true. Man is the only creature who feels sorry
for himself, who gripes, complains and stops living.
A wild thing accepts all conditions as they are and deals
with them, without complaint or reservation. Once man
learns to do that he automatically has nothing more to
complain about and he changes his circumstances
dramatically. Think on that.

Why All Vitamins Are NOT the Same
PART 3 of 4
Here is a quote from Lyle MacWilliams Comparative
Guide To Nutritional Supplements 3rd edition P: 8
http://www.macwilliam.net
People are missing the point when they debate which
antioxidants is the best magic bullet. Just like
firefighters on the front line, who replenish and
reinforce one another, antioxidants work best when they
work together a process called synergy. Get reliable
information from trustworthy sources. There are many on
the Internet. One word of caution, though The medical
community is pretty shy about discussing
supplementation, so be aware of how old the information
that you are reading is
the author might not have
access to current research when it was written.
Now lets look at this from the companys purpose. The
company has a product it wants to market. Or Dr.
Someones special formula. If the company has special
knowledge which might help some people regain their
health, it needs to find a way of educating people
about it. I am not going to get into the political
agendas of the supplement business as I find it a no
win situation. This is simply to make you aware that
all vitamins are not alike, so it is an educational
article only. Constantly keep your needs in mind as you
do your research. There is much to entice or distract
you.
What influences costs? From the buyers needs it
depends where you buy the product. Prices vary
tremendously! Specialty stores or facilities will most
likely handle products that require more interaction or
a relationship building. I think it also creates longer
loyalty because questions are answered and normally
follow up is part of the purchase. If you go to larger
department stores or one of the big box stores, there
would be less support and few questions answered.
Higher end product would either languish on the shelf
in a superstore or not be there at all. Does that make
the product desirable or not? Does cost influence the
products ingredients? I would think it does very
seriously. You pay for quality, no matter what you buy.
Normally higher quality costs more money. You need to
ask yourself what kind of quality you would be
receiving wherever you shop. How can you evaluate? By
doing your own research and finding answers to such
questions as what your body requires. If you are a
healthy person with no medical problems, you might want
just the routine multivitamin (Meaning an appropriate
mix of vitamins and minerals). But remember to read the
American Medical Association recommendation on the use
of nutritional supplement for adult.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Within an hour of the blast men, trucks and
equipment began to arrive from all the towns,
villages and cities nearby. Soon the fire chief
was able to mount a meaningful attack against the
fire.
The police were busy keeping reporters away,
and managing the traffic that had to come into the
area.
The fires lasted well into the next day. It
was five in the afternoon the following day before
the fire chief proclaimed they were out.
The city was a mess. There was water, soot and
dirt wherever you looked. The streets were a mess.
The buildings were a mess. Few escaped the fires.
The whole town was in shock. The adrenalin had
been pumping for quite a while for the towns folk.
Every one was tired, some fearful, some woeful at
the terrible loss.
The police and firemen were now concerned with
the search for bodies of victims of the tragedy.
Permitting no one else access to the buildings
they began a building by building search.
Sam and Ben offered to help but were declined.
It seems that along with looking for bodies they
wanted to keep their eyes peeled for the cause of
the fire.
Sam and Ben decided to go find Darryl Sparks.
They could at least help him get his building back
in shape and work at getting the news out. Darryl,
because of his proximity was now at a disadvantage
as far as other news groups were concerned. Others
brought in TV cameras and the like and had first
hand coverage. Darryl, because he was hurt and
because his building was damaged, had no access to
his facilities.
Sam and Ben found him up the block a ways from
the main blast. He was recruiting his staff again,
attempting to get them back to work. However, the
psychological shock of what had happened was still
having it's effect on the group.
Sam asked Darryl aside. "Darryl, Ben and I
would like to get your building restored so you
can go in and begin your work. It is important
this story be told without the sensationalism it
is getting from the other media. Your building is
safe, and we can restore it to where it was before
the blast. Would that encourage your staff?"
"Thank you Sam, Ben. Yes it would. That would
be wonderful, although I don't think they will let
us in the front."
"No, I suppose not, but that's okay. We can
cause you to go in the back and then you can get
to work."
"That would be wonderful, guys. Thank you very
much."
Darryl returned to his staff and told them of
the offer. They all looked bewildered, but knew
enough about the reputation of these men not to
doubt them. They all began to walk down the block,
to the back alley and then toward the Pinehill
Sound.
In less than ten minutes they were there. They
walked into the back and Sam and Ben started to
work. Everything that had been knocked over was
made upright. All papers that were scattered were
once more arranged as they were. Any water that
was around was immediately dried up as was
anything else that was wet. It was restored to new
condition. Proceeding to the front of the building
the water damage was worse. Yet this had no
bearing on what Sam and Ben did. They dried
everything up, arranged everything the way it was
and even replaced the plate glass window. It was
as if there had been no damage at all.
"Here, Darryl. You might want to take this and
put it in your office as a momento." Ben Striker
handed Darryl the concrete block that had broken
his arm. They laughed.
"Thank you both. It is a good thing to have
you two as friends. You did much work today, as
did your kids and wives. You saved a lot of lives
and this town is indebted to you, and now I am
indebted to you. Thank you."
"Darryl, none of us wants a mention in your
paper. We only want you to report the days events
without any of the sensationalism others are
giving it. You have proven to be a trustworthy
friend and we wanted you to have at least an equal
chance at reporting this as anyone else. I think
you're set now. But remember, we did what anyone
would do under these circumstances. There is no
need to make a big thing out of what we did, in
fact we prefer you don't even mention us at all."
"That will be tough, Ben. You folks were all
over everywhere, but I'll try. Thank you, both of
you."
With that Sam and Ben left to go find the
ladies. As they approached the nursing station
they witnessed the church men moving amongst the
wounded and shocked. There were still those with
tears and those with the shakes. As the church men
moved about Sam observed they were no longer
trying to make God responsible. They were no
longer "selling". They had simmered down and used
this time not to sell their beliefs but to give to
the needy what the needy required - comfort and
solace.

TODAY'S REPORT:
Its a weekend folks. I'm taking it easy. These are the days
I use to surf, or to research other things. I have had a
database problem and I knew not how to solve it. An email
came to me with the answer and it looked as if I was going
to have to spend the day searching for the software needed.
Guess what. I got lucky. I had the software all along, right
on my machine, and it works like a dream. Things go like
that for me. My Maker makes the path an easy one.
Have a great weekend.

A husband is advised by a psychiatrist to assert himself.
"You don't have to let your wife henpeck you. Go home
and show her you are the boss."
Of course, the husband takes the doctor's advice. He rushes
home, slams the door, shakes his fist in his wife's face, and
growls, "From now on, you're taking orders from me. I want
my supper right now, and when you get it on the table, go
upstairs, and lay out my best clothes. Tonight, I'm going out
with the boys and you are going to stay at home where you
belong. And another thing... Do you know who's going to
comb my hair, adjust my pants, and then tie my bow tie?"
"I certainly do," says his wife calmly. "The undertaker."
