TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------
Can bright light cause you to sneeze?
What IS the autumnal equinox?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Is it possible to keep your eyes open when sneezing?
No. Your eyes automatically snap shut when you sneeze. It's
a reflex and there's no way to stop it. So don't worry about
your eyes popping out when you sneeze. Worry more about
hitting the car in front of you when you have a sneezing fit
while driving!
What are those little black squiggly things you sometimes
see?
Ever looked at a white wall or empty sky or some other blank
surface and seen little black spots or cobwebs floating
around? Those are "floaters" and they're IN your eye, so you
can't really make them go away by blinking. Floaters are
tiny clumps of gel or cells inside the vitreous, the clear
jelly-like fluid that fills the eye. What you're seeing are
the shadows of these floaters cast on the retina, the
light-sensitive film at the back of the eye. Because they
are INSIDE your eye, floaters move with your eyes when you
try to focus on them. Floaters may become more prevalent as
we age and the vitreous humor thickens and clumps. But don't
worry, floaters are harmless and present no danger to your
vision. The only time to worry is when you suddenly see a
very large number of floaters or showers of floaters that
weren't there before. In rare cases, this could indicate
retinal detachment or a blood vessel in the eye breaking.

Play Too ...
My wife and I had the good pleasure of going out to some
live musical theater one night this past week, and last
night we went to a concert given by Ian Tyson, of the old
Ian and Sylvia duo.
I don't suppose there is anything fantastic about that
except we had not done that for nearly ten years, maybe
more.
A while back we built a new house, did all the work
ourselves. That combined with the internet business kept us
some busy. Still does.
The result is we never played. We realized that this week
and resolved to enjoy things away from the house. It has
been altogether too long. We used to go to England, just to
see theater. Then when we quit we got involved in other
things and simply played with the threat of doing so again.
This week changed all that. Wow! what a joy.
It brings to mind that we are not the only ones
concentrating so hard on our businesses we refrain from
getting out. It puts me in mind of ... BALANCE, BALANCE,
BALANCE.
All things go so much better with balance it is hard to
believe. In fact without balance being part of the equation,
whatever you are doing will fail. Everything in the universe
must function with ORDER, HARMONY and BALANCE. When
any one of those ingredients is missing then things fail.
All three must be present to have a lasting success.
Play Too . It is truly necessary for success.
Take these thoughts into your mind. Commit yourself to
seeking Order, Harmony and Balance in all aspects of your
life. Commit yourself to making whatever adjustments you
need to bring all things in line with those principles. Joy
and prosperity are the result.

The Power Pause
Think what it would be like if you no longer felt sick and
tired and feared for your future and your family's future.
Use the PowerPause in this exercise to empower your vision
of your newly restored health. When you declare a Power
Pause, use this three-step process that allows you to take
charge of your thinking.
Step 1:
Go to that peaceful place in your mind and be there until
you are at peace with yourself.
Step 2: Then create a vision of what your life would be like
if you did not have a health problem. Feel like you would
feel if you were completely healthy and could do anything
you desired. You need to empower that vision with all the
positive emotion of good feeling and joy that you can
muster. When you truly feel good about it go to step three.
Step 3: Say, "Thank you God" or thank the Universe or
whatever you call the higher power in your life.
Use the Three Minute Power Pause as often as necessary,
every day for at least 21 days, replacing your previous
negative thought patterns. The Power Pause is your solution
to the problem of taking charge of your thoughts and being
successful in thinking your way out of the box and into the
life you want. For the complete version of this incredible
transformational tool, please contact Darel Rutherford

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------
Sam gently leaned over the couch and took hold
of one of Sammy's legs. He shook it back and forth
while calling Sammy back from the depths of sleep.
"Sammy, come lad. It's time to go."
He did the same with AliAnn. "Time to go
sweetheart."
The kids rose slowly, rubbing their eyes. It
was pitch black through the windows. Miguele,
Abetta and Sam were all still awake. Abetta was
preparing something for the kids to eat.
"What time is it Grandpa?"
"It's two o'clock in the morning, honey.
That's just about perfect timing. We will arrive
at our friends at just about the time they are
waking up."
"Here, you two. Have something to eat before
you leave. You will have all day and maybe more
while you are over there so don't rush. You'll get
there soon enough." Abetta was always the mother.
The kids were not suffering for sleep. They
had gone down around eight in the evening, so they
had a good six hours rest.
They sat up to the table and everyone ate
something. When the meal was done Sam gave Abetta
a hug and shook Miguele's hand. "Thank you, guys,
for the wonderful visit. Thanks, Miguele, for
sharing your story with the kids. It is good for
them to see life that is different than the way
they live."
"You are welcome, Sam Henry. it is always a
pleasure to see you."
"Good bye."
With that Sam took Sammy's and AliAnn's hands
and in the flash of an eye they were standing on
the hill behind Kenyata's and Mombudo's place,
overlooking the herds on the Serengeti.
"Wow! Look at that. I've never seen so many
animals. Is it safe to go down there?"
"I think so AliAnn. The only thing you have to
look out for are animals on the hunt. There are
hyenas, cheetahs and lions. Otherwise all the rest
are grass eaters. There the only ones you need
watch for are mothers protecting their young. You
know the routine."
"Yes, Grandpa. I want to go see all the
animals. Look, they spread out as far as the eye
can see."
"You can go, but just be aware of what is
happening around you. Don't take chances."
"Okay, Grandpa. We'll be careful."
Sam didn't like letting they go alone, in this
new land. Yet he knew they were two kids well
familiar with the bush, with nature and with the
need for precautions. He knew one more thing too.
This was their time.
He decided he would sit on the hill and watch.
They would always be in sight whichever way they
went. He had the strongest urge, as a grandfather,
to go with them to protect them, but he knew he
could not.
The kids ran down the hill for quite a
distance before they settled into a walk. The
herds were about three miles away so the kids were
getting to look pretty small by the time they
reached the bottom of the hill and were out
walking on the plain. So far Sam could see not
much sign of precautions. They simply kept right
on walking.
He did tune into their minds. There he found
complete fascination for the wonder before them.
He knew they weren't paying much attention to
their safety. Then it happened ...
From their left and behind them there was a
golden blur. The animal was running full speed.
Sammy heard something and turned around. So
did AliAnn.
In that instant their thoughts covered years.
They recognized they were being attacked. They
recognized they could not run to safety. They
recognized that as humans with human thinking they
were about to become some animals dinner.
Strangely neither one of them panicked. Each
was serene. The thoughts that came into their
minds were the same. Only by knowing they were
friends with this huge golden bullet coming at
them fast could they hope to avoid being killed.
Only by trusting the power within them would they
survive. Each of them stopped in their tracks and
faced the oncoming animal.
In that instant both AliAnn and Sammy crossed
the veil of simplicity, together. They knew higher
law. They knew they would be safe. They knew this
lion would stop the attack.
They each held out their hands to the oncoming
lion. The animals intent suddenly changed. It
stopped the aggressive attack yet it's momentum
was such that it sped right on past the two teens.
When it finally stopped it was about six yards
past the kids. It turned and stopped. It looked at
the kids. They were coming up to it. They were
broadcasting love. They were not afraid.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?
Calendar. How did the calendar" get its name?
From the Latin word for an interest book kept by
money-lenders - the calendarium. Interest fell due on the
calends or first day of the month. Calends itself came from
calare - the Latin verb meaning "to call" - because the
Romans used to publicly "call out" the first day of the
month.

HA! HA! HA!
Many patients call the pathology group where I am office
manager to discuss their medical bills. One irate woman
demanded that I describe every laboratory test on her
statement.
Reluctantly, I complied. Starting with the first test on her
bill, I read, "No. 1, urinalysis."
She interrupted me at once. "I'm a what?"
