How long do crocodiles live?

Quite a while! Some species of crocodile live an average of
70 years and a few individual crocodiles have reportedly
lived more than a hundred years.

Is it true that new mothers have a special chemical that
makes them fearless?

Not quite. However, recent research on mice DOES suggest
that new mothers have an unusually LOW level of
corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF), a brain chemical
linked to anxiety and fear.  Furthermore, those mothers with
low levels of CRF were more likely to fiercely protect their
young.

What happens when you have HIGH levels of CRF?

Unusually HIGH levels of CRF, as might be expected, are
believed to be associated with anxiety and depression. In
the mice experiment, mothers injected with HIGH levels of
CRF appeared afraid of intruders and often did not try to
protect their offspring.

Safety Inside!

The Indians asked their Chief in the autumn if the winter
was going to be cold or not. Not really knowing the answer,
the Chief replied that the winter was going to be cold and
the members of the village were to collect wood to be
prepared.

Being a good leader, he went to the next phone booth and
called the National Weather Service and asked, "Is this
winter going to be cold?"

The man on the phone responded, "This winter will be quite
cold indeed."

So the Chief went back to his people to speed up the
collection of wood to be prepared.

A week later he called the National Weather Service again.
"Is it going to be a very cold winter?"

"Yes", the man replied, "It's going to be a very cold
winter".

So the Chief goes back to his people and orders them to find
every scrap of wood they can find.

Two weeks later he calls the National Weather Service again.
"Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very
cold?"

"Absolutely," the man replies, "the Indians are collecting
wood like crazy!"

Man becomes so wrapped up in what he is doing, hearing,
seeing, he gets sidetracked from truth.

So many think the only source of information is from outside
them, coming from some seeable, touchable source, that we
permit ourselves, too often, to be led astray and into
detours.

Any time, yes, anytime, we take in information from outside
ourselves we must cautiously weigh it for correctness.
Unfortunately most of the information we take in is
essentially not useful for the big picture. It manages to
keep us on a small plain with limited horizons and worse,
keeps us in bondage to that plain.

As man developed over history he became more and more
involved in technology, admiring his own cleverness over the
gadgets he had made. Today, of course, that momentum is in
full swing with technology giving us as much in a year as
men used to get in ten years.

Long ago we forgot to pay attention to that still, quiet,
calm voice that whispers in our ear from inside ourselves.
Some call it intuition.

The fact that we all have it, the fact that it is still
there, the fact that we pay attention to it sometimes, the
fact that we "feel" a certain way, should have us doing some
real soul searching.

What is this "force"? What is this "message from within"?
Why do we hear this and what is it really telling us?

Today, man has come to believe that his god, whatever name
you give, is a man, is of your nationality, sits on a throne
in someplace we call heaven or some other name, and is there
for the sole purpose of punishing you for your misdeeds.

More or less that is the picture religions like to have us
believe. Many religions give us a way out, of course, but we
have to follow their rules.

Consider this: The Maker that breathed life into your
nostrils, the Maker that put the universe in motion, the
Maker that causes the sunrise, the rhythm of the seasons,
must, by nature, in spirit and in body be in all things.

In meta-physical literature and in some religions it is
spoken of with the words that "God is all". While the
statement is a truth, the impact of that truth gets pushed
aside in our daily living.

Your Maker actually, truly, every second you draw breath,
lives inside you. The still, small, quiet, calm voice you
call intuition is your Maker talking to you. Any information
you get from this source is unconditionally correct and
safe.

This is the message we are long taught by the teachers and
profits we purport to follow. Yet we hear their teachings
and do not follow. The noise of the preacher in front of us,
persuading us to do as he says, overshadows the power that
lies in the quiet moments between you and your Maker.

Spend time in the quiet. Take time to listen. Learn to
listen to the voice within. Learn to call on it whenever you
want. Learn to have communication with that voice. Follow
what you are told. And you will be living the life your
Maker wants for you, complete with empowering you to heights
beyond your present dreams.

So remember, you can get your information like the Indian in
the joke did, or you can go inside you for information that
is always right.

With information that comes from outside, there is risk.

You will find there is Safety Inside!

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson

The Inflammatory Process: One of your bodyguards

Imagine this situation. You just stepped on a rusty nail it.
It hurts to pull it out.* Chances are it's rusty and you
know you "left behind" some debris. It starts to hurt and
throb a bit.

Or maybe you got a paper cut on your hand: ouch that hurts!
The area reddens very quickly. Or maybe you banged your
elbow and now this area is starting to get red also.

These are all examples of the inflammatory process in
action. The body doesn't like any type of "visitors" and
sends out an army of extra fluid, including many white
cells…white because they contain anti-oxidants which will
lead the fight.

Yes, it depends on the type of visitors, (bacteria, virus,
foreign body, etc.) but more likely it will depends upon the
number of extra visitors. This army likes to do combat "one
on one". The visitors in the body are called "free rads" and
are not welcome.

The job of the inflammatory system is to make the visitors
harmless by neutralising them. How? They pair/neutralize
them with an anti-oxidant. How can the body get a regular
supply of anti-oxidants…through its food.

What form does it food take…Nutrients such as vitamins.

How does the body keep up with the constant demand? It can't
unless you feed it these nutrients.

If they aren't in the body to fight, the body is overwhelmed
by these free radicals and the inflammatory process is
unable to help…so the free radicals take over.

The enemy has won and slowly all the remaining also are used
up/eliminated. And disease takes over. *Never pull out a
nail that is deeply imbedded: you can cause more harm.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to
http://www.the-pebble.com OR order yours from
your favorite bookstore. ISBN # 1-4137-4723-X

"They came on their own. Mazunta and I were
the last to leave. We wanted them to learn how to
do it for themselves. They are each a quick study.
You don't have to tell them twice. We have now
shown them all the methods to arrive at the
destination they want. I imagine you had a call or
two?"

"Yes, I did. I knew they were coming and I was
sure looking forward to it. Are you going to stay
a while?"

"I really don't know. That will be up to
Mazunta. I imagine if we leave it to the kids they
will want to stay."

"You bet they will. Why don't you at least
stay overnight and you can go to Kenyata's and
Mombudo's tomorrow. That way you will be able to
give them a better grasp of time zones and they
will have a lot of the day to see the herds."

"You offer an invitation that is hard to
resist Riata. You know I can resist anything but
temptation. I'll speak with Maz about it. I think
that will be all right."

"Tom, Tlang, why don't you show your Dad
around. I think he'd like to see what we are doing
here." With that Riata was off to see Mazunta, Mae
and Susan.

Tlang, too, wanted to go see Mae and Susan.
They were the closest thing to parents she had.
She saw they were busy and she knew she would get
her chance, so she turned her attention to showing
Sam around.

"I guess we do the same here as Riata did with
an orphanage in South America."

"Yes, Tlang. You might want to visit that
orphanage. Have Tim take you there. The orphanage
part is the same but it has some differences. I
see you are actually much larger here. You have
more kids and more space. The orphanage back in
Matto Grosso is on what used to be a vacant lot.
Now it is the very center of attention to
everyone.

"I heard about the shrine and how it came into
being. Riata was pretty brave to take that shot."

"Yes, she was. And she has turned it into a
very good thing for the visitors. The orphans have
kept all the original concepts and purposes. It is
a very good thing."

Tom and Tlang showed Sam around the property
and introduced him to some of the kids. Sam also
met and reacquainted himself with Amenti, Reno and
Maria. Sam had not seen them for years. In fact
this was Sam's first visit to the orphanage in
China.

He was much impressed. Riata and the kids had
things all organized as to how they lived their
days. Everyone knew where everything was and the
days went smooth and easy.

All the while Tom and Tlang were showing Sam
around Tlang was holding Sam's arm. She had grown
to love this man who, himself, was broadcasting
strong love. She knew it was not a carnal love but
this man was the Father of the man she loved and
thought she would be marrying. She was very happy
to have found such a family.

In flashes Tlang went back over her life and
as she did she was ever so grateful Mae and Susan
found her and saved her from the circumstances in
which she was being sexually abused. Here, she
trusted these men. They all treated her with
respect, even Tom, who, when they were alone
together and involved in passionate embraces,
refused to get involved in sexual advances. He
wanted to wait until after they were married. Even
when Tlang wanted him to touch her he would not.
She found it frustrating but knew deep down in her
heart this was right. She loved these people
because of their care and concern over her
welfare. This man, Sam Henry was a mountain among
men. He started a dynasty of people who were
strong, caring, loving people who had nothing
short of the very highest regard for mankind.

The tour was now finished and they were
walking up to Mae, Susan and Mazunta. Tlang let go
of Sam's arm and ran headlong into the open arms
of Susan Miles. The pair of them hugged for a long
while. Then Tlang did the same with Mae. It was
plain to see the love and affection these three
had for each other. Both Mae and Susan were
immensely happy to be associated with Tlang. She
was now a beautiful young woman and she carried
herself with a high respect for herself and
others. Those around her loved her dearly because
of her calm, loving approach to life. Wherever she
went at the orphanage she collected a crowd around
her. Now that she lived by higher law she was
really in a position to be of service.
Indeed, she and Tom had been called to several
places already. They had served together almost
inseparable.

Even though these two had met at Tim and
Sharon's wedding several months back, nearly a
year now, they clung to each other as if each was
a life raft for the other. The love they held for
each other was clearly visible and all around them
were entranced by it.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

McCoy: What is the reason we use the phrase "the real McCoy"
to mean "genuine"?

This term became popular because of a story that attained
wide circulation. A prize fighter by the name of McCoy was
being annoyed by a drunk. The pest wanted McCoy to fight
but, being a professional boxer and realizing the man's
condition, McCoy refused. Friends tried to calm down the
drunk by telling him that the man he was annoying was the
famous prize fighter. mcCoy; the drunk didn't believe them
and finally became so annoying that McCoy punched him and
knocked him out. When he came to, the drunk said, "You're
right, he's the real McCoy!"

HA! HA! HA!

Jimmy was at his first day of school. The teacher advised
the class to start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance,
and instructed them to put their right hands over their
hearts and repeat after him. He looked around the room as he
started the recitation, "I pledge allegiance to the flag..."

When the teacher's eyes fell on Jimmy, he noticed his hand
over the right cheek of his behind.

"James, I will not continue till you put your hand over your
heart."

Jimmy replied, "It is over my heart."

After several attempts to get Jimmy to put his hand over his
heart, the teacher asked, "Why do you think that is your
heart?"

"Because, every time my Grandma comes to visit, she picks me
up, pats me here, and says, 'Bless your little heart,' and
my Grandma wouldn't lie."
