What exactly is ozone and why are we so scared about a hole
in the ozone?
Ozone is a form of oxygen that is actually harmful to humans
when it's at ground level. It's often found near electrical
machinery and in industrial environments. At ground level,
it's a good idea to keep ozone levels at a minimum and the
US Occupational Safety and Health Administration has
implemented standards to ensure that we do. The ozone layer,
a sheet of gas enveloping the earth about 15 miles above us,
is a whole other story. We need that layer of ozone to
absorb much of the sun's ultraviolet radiation, which in
large doses is exceedingly bad for us. Scientists now know
that the ozone layer is fragile and that even small amounts
of certain gases can seriously deplete it. Fertilizers,
aircraft gases, the gases used in aerosol sprays,
refrigerants: these are the primary culprits. How big is the
hole now? In 1985, British researchers found that the ozone
protecting Antarctica had just about vanished. The hole is
as big as Antarctica itself.
Can we fix the hole in the ozone layer?
To manufacture ozone would take an incredible amount of
energy. We can, however, stop emitting fluorocarbons (those
gases we were talking about) and eventually, scientists say,
the hole would disappear.

Blair urges climate change action
The world is close to a "catastrophic tipping point" on
climate change, Tony Blair has warned in advance of a summit
of EU leaders.
Climate change and energy security are linked and urgent
action is needed, the prime minister warns in a joint letter
with his Dutch counterpart.
They say Europe needs to lead the world in changing to a low
carbon economy and developing other energy sources.
Mr Blair will attend the informal summit in Lahti, Finland,
on Friday.
In their letter, Mr Blair and Jan Peter Balkenende warn that
failure to act will affect economic growth and long-term
energy supply and will cause conflict and insecurity.
We have a window of only 10 to 15 years to take the steps we
need to avoid crossing catastrophic tipping points
Energy is top of the agenda for the summit, where the EU
leaders will be joined for dinner by Russian President
Vladimir Putin.
They hope to negotiate better deals for oil and gas
companies operating in Russia and better access to the
Russian pipeline network.
Mr Blair says it is right to focus on external energy policy
but the pace of climate change means the two are linked.
"We have a window of only 10 to 15 years to take the steps
we need to avoid crossing catastrophic tipping points," the
letter warns.
"These would have serious consequences for our economic
growth prospects, the safety of our people and the supply of
resources, most notably energy."
Debate
Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said on Wednesday
that climate change was the most pressing problem for
political leaders.
And a plan to cut Europe's energy consumption by 20% before
2020 has been outlined by the European Commission.
No new decisions will come out of the Lahti meeting, but Mr
Blair wants an "in-depth debate" at another summit next
year.
He also wants progressively tighter limits to be put on
total CO2 emissions from industry, and an agreement to
invest more in renewable energy technology.

The Make Up Of Your Body And How It Functions
As part of this anatomy and physiology "lesson", I am also
mentioning the connection to the aging process and how it
differs from the degenerative process. These are important
issues to learn, to understand, and to apply if you wish to
live a healthy lifestyle. I came across a very interesting
term recently. It said your body is always moving
“lifeward”. That is so true, but it needs the right
ingredients to do that properly. And for that to happen, you
need knowledge.
ANATOMY is the study, classification, and description of
structures and organs of the body.
PHYSIOLOGY is the study and process of the function of the
human. It is the study of the physical and chemical
processes involved in the actions of living organisms and
their component parts. When we talk about anatomy, we often
also discuss the function of it. So take time to understand
the two parts. As you already know, disease doesn't have to
be a part of your life. If you want to either avoid it or
eliminate it, you need to study the true body first and its
functions. Only then can you make a change. Everything else
is guessing and a waste of your time and effort. Just like
counterfeit money, knowing the truth helps you recognize the
"untruth" or false or mistaken actions and beliefs.
As usual, I encourage you to do some more research. Ask
yourself: What if? How can I? Why does it? What do I need to
find out? This is your starting point. Move ahead, with
knowledge and confidence. Until you understand the make up
of your body, you won't be able to figure out its function.

Too Little, Too Late - Wrong Course To Take!
I see President Mubarak of Egypt has come out and said
Muslims are not doing enough to thwart the radicals within
their ranks and to give the West a correct picture of who
they are. My answer to him on that point is “Do you think?”
In regards to the global warming issue I notice much more
rhetoric on the net as the days go by. Governments, like
Tony Blair’s in England, are now beginning to talk about it
more and more. The problem I see with that is they are only
doing what little they have to do to keep the public off
their backs.
In Canada the Environment Minister has come up with a new
plan to reduce air pollution and water pollution. The idea
is good yet it only goes about two percent of the distance.
The politicians are busy patting themselves on the back
because they did something but it shows, in my opinion, that
they really don’t know what they are doing or talking about.
The issue of global warming is a serious one and it is
highly unlikely we will be able to stop it. It is clear
there is a 30 year lag time between the time greenhouse
gasses are emitted and the time they begin to do damage. The
gasses that are going to accelerate the global warming
problem are already in the atmosphere and we are only
waiting for them to do their work.
What is even more important is governments should now be
looking at the social upheaval this is going to cause and do
something to prepare for that. There will be no water in
some parts of the world. Thousands of square miles of desert
appear each year as additions to existing deserts. Water
levels are rising in the oceans such as to take away
thousands of miles of shoreline of low lying islands and low
lying areas of continents. Rain patterns are changing and
the only way people are adapting is to travel to where they
think they can get food so there is a a refugee problem
developing in countries that have opportunities.
On top of all this the population is increasing by millions
per year and food production is down and reducing.
Somewhere there must be a government that sees this
happening.
In addition to all this I see the US has now marked
Venezuela as a “hostile country”, a hotbed and breeding
ground in the western hemisphere for terrorists. They are
freely giving out “green cards” and other documents to
anyone who wants one. Venezuela might find out that attracts
all the criminals from around the world. It might come back
to haunt them but in the meantime they are a present threat
to world order.
So the list goes on folks. In every corner there are man
made problems that man refuses to recognize or do anything
about. It is time for you to act for your own sake. It is
time for you to find peace of mind and become a peaceful
person so you can have the power of that condition on your
side. That is a personal responsibility and one has to work
with it to find it. It is accompanied by prosperity so you
will find it a rewarding way to conduct your life.
Probably the single most important thing you can do for you
and your family is to find a way to peace of mind,
stillness, being calm. When you do that you have
great strength with which you can lead your family and be an
example to your neighbors. Peace comes from within and has
to be worked on before one finds the formula.
