Why do lobsters turn red when they are cooked?
Lobsters are generally bluish green when they're alive.
(Rarely, one is caught that is actually blue or even yellow or
orange!) So how come lobsters turn red when you cook them?
Simple. The lobster's color is caused by pigments found in
its shell. When you cook it, only the red background pigment
remains visible.
What is the difference between hardshell and softshell lobsters?
Hardshell and softshell lobsters are not different types of lobsters.
They're the same type of lobster in different stages of growing.
Lobsters get bigger by molting (shedding) their shells annually.
After a lobster has molted, it is soft and delicate for a few months
until its new shell has hardened. The same process is true for
crabs, which is why you also have hardshell and softshell crabs.

Excerpt from eMarketer Daily
Verizon Gets Its Man, But Not the Money
Verizon Wireless has stopped one spammer, but
failed to win the monetary damages from him that
it had hoped would deter other spammers from
bombarding its customers. A federal judge
ordered a permanent injunction against
Jacob Brown of Rhode Island this week,
forbidding him from sending any further text
spam messages to Verizon Wireless customers.
Between March and July, Brown targeted Verizon
customers with 4.5 million spam text messages
advertising mortgages, adult products and herbal
remedies, 1 million of which made it past Verizon's
filters and actually reached subscribers. The judge
did not grant Verizon Wireless the $150,000 in
damages it sought from Brown and 50 other
"John Doe" defendants involved in the case, however.
The City of Wireless Love
The city government of Philadelphia hopes to turn
the whole city into a Wi-Fi hotspot, and might even
offer the Internet service for free. The plan, estimated
to cost $10 million, would involve placing the wireless
Internet transmitters on top of lampposts or other
structures over the 135 square-mile area of the city.
Once completed, it could mean substantially cheaper
Internet access for most city residents (even if the city
does end up charging for it), as well as access to the
Net for lower socio-economic neighborhoods where
there currently is none.

Change your screen saver to 3D Pipes(OpenGL).

There was an immediate change in her. Her voice
became calmer, the pitch lowered, the pace
reduced, the panic disappeared! (This always
happens!) She became enthusiastic about certain
things she really enjoys and the conversation took
on a very different focus. I "caught" her love of
the products and what they did for people... the
comfort.the pleasure, the way they brighten the
new owner's day. But it was Sandy's personality
that was suddenly so was different!
Recognizing many "hidden" talents, I asked her to
pretend she could do anything in the world, with
all the necessary money, health, time, education,
etc. What would she like to do? I couldn't believe
what I heard! They were almost identical to what
she was already doing, but on a much smaller
scale, in a smaller town, with more free time, and
on a schedule. I assured her all those things
would be possible, and the bonus was that she
didn't need to learn anything more. Because she
had studied and participated in her profession for
years, she was known as an expert in her field!
Next we looked at her possibilities. Again she got
excited! Several people had already expressed a
desire to buy their business, but because it had
been in the family for so long, they were hesitant
to think about this possibility. Maybe not...Sandy
and her husband had always dreamed of having a
different, yet similar kind of business...so she
thought if she stopped her nattering and offered
some concrete ideas, he might see the benefits of
a change. She knew she could take him out to look
at things. (She made a note to do it this coming
week as their children would be available to
help!) ((It's important to create some action

"Wow! You know all that from there? What else
do you know about me? Can you just drop into my
mind at will?"
"I can, but I don't. I don't even do that to
you. But when we have someone who has indicated a
desire to learn higher law, we stop in once in a
while to make sure they are on the right path.
Whether you know it or not you embarked on that
path tonight. Now the next thing for you to do, at
a time that is right for you, is to commit to
living by higher law, accepting no other
alternative."
"That seems like a large request."
"It is no request of mine, Sharon. That is
just the way it comes together. So long as you are
willing to accept the way of man's world, so shall
you be. It's perfectly logical and practical. You
simply have to make the choice and live with it."
"But, accepting no other alternative?"
"Don't come to me about that. Think on it. How
can you possibly get the best when you are willing
to accept second best. You will never reach any
objective in your life if you are willing to
accept less. The accepting terminates the effort.
Why reach for the stars when you know you are
willing to settle for less. You think your Maker
doesn't know this? Your Maker lives and breathes
inside you and knows your thoughts before you
think them. That is why commitment is necessary."
"Gee I don't know if I can do it."
"Did you know you could communicate with me
this way, by thought? If I said you would do that
you would have thought me crazy. Yet here we are
doing it. It isn't hard is it?"
"No."
"Well neither is commitment. All it really
means is that you mean business. You will accept
nothing less and you will act on nothing less. It
isn't hard. It's just necessary."
"Well you certainly have changed my life so
far."
"Sharon I did not do that. You did. It was you
who accepted what was offered. You made the choice
and you are the one acting on it. It is a paradox
that you have been chosen. You are the one doing
the choosing. It will ever be so. The laws of the
universe have long been established. That you have
not known them until now does not mean they have
not existed until now. It is just that you are
learning them now. It is so for all people."
"Wow! are we going to see each other tonight?"
"I want to, Sharon, but I think it better be
after your folks go to bed. I'll bet they want to
speak with you, even tonight. They must feel bad
about what happened."
"Yes. I think they do. I can look at them
differently now. It is as if they no longer own
me. I am free to make my own decisions and to
discuss things with them without getting angry. I
now know who they are. I must treat them well and
with love, but that does not mean I must do as
they say."
"Just take it slow and with love Sharon, and
things will work out fine. I'll talk with you
later" Tim was full of concern for her welfare,
but knew she must travel the path herself.
Sharon rose and straightened herself out.
Taking a deep breath she put her hand on the
doorknob and turned it. She walked out into the
kitchen where her parents were still talking about
what had happened.
They looked at her. She was different. She
shone as if she were a new person. They did not
understand it but there it was, quite visible.
"I think we should talk." Sharon spoke softly,
calmly but with full confident and vibrancy.
Their little girl had grown up. They were no
longer in charge. They knew that in the very
bottom of their hearts.
"Sharon, I didn't mean to hit you. If I had
know you had opened the door I would not have gone
to bang on it. Please forgive me."
"It's all right Daddy. I know you weren't
striking at me. It's all right."
"Sharon we didn't mean for this to get out of
hand this way. I don't know what happened but I'm
sorry for it all." Sharon's mom was the one who
was apologizing now.
"I know. I also know how it happened. It is
all right. I know you were just acting out of your
love and concern for me. Your intentions were
honorable. Now may I say something?"
