A Dream Written Down with a Date Becomes...

A dream written down with a date becomes a goal.
A goal broken down becomes a plan.
A plan backed by action makes your dream come true.
Out of all the questions I?m asked, the most popular one is
probably, ?How do I make my dreams come true?? We all want to
have and accomplish great things in our lives, and sometimes we
can use a friendly reminder of just how simple attaining them can
be.
When asked that question, here?s what I say. It?s a quote from my
first book, "The Millionaire Mentor":
A dream written down with a date becomes a goal,
a goal broken down becomes a plan,
a plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.
Now, that?s great and all, but what does it really mean?
It?s like this. Suppose you want a car. It?s not enough to only
?want? it, because that?s what?s known as simply ?wishing.?
However, when you apply the quote from above, you can actually
materialize that wish or dream .
Here?s how it works:
Step 1: Take a wish or dream and turn it into a goal with a date.
Visualize your dream vehicle down to the gearshift knob, then
take out a piece of paper and write down your goal, in very
specific terms. For example:
I will have a new car by [specific date]. It will be a black
Acura with two doors, gray interior, tinted windows, and a CD
player. I will listen to my favorite Billy Joel tunes while I
drive off the lot, feeling like a million bucks.
Leave your description where you can see it as a constant
reminder, like taped to your bathroom mirror or on your desk at
work.
Step 2: Break your goal down into a plan. Come up with an idea or
plan to make your dream happen. This can be done in your own
particular way, because everyone has their own style of creating
their pathways. For myself, I?d design a three-month timeline for
step 1, then I?d consider asking my boss to hold $75 or $80 a
week from my paycheck. In that amount of time, I?d have about
$900 to $950 for my down payment. (I?d also have the incentive to
make more money each week to cover the holdings and get me ready
for my payments once I got the car.)
Step 3: Back your plan with action. The biggest step of all is to
just go do - it.
You have the goal, you have the plan, now take ACTION and your
dreams shall become realities Because . . .
A dream written down with a date becomes a goal,
a goal broken down becomes a plan,
a plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.
Now, that you?ve been given (or reminded of) this very simple way
to accomplish your goals, what will you write down and start
doing today so that this year will be your best one ever?
P.S. By the way...The story of the car is how I got my very first
?new? ride?a black Acura Integra two-door. As I drove off the lot
blaring my Billy Joel CD, I really did feel like a million bucks.
I suppose that?s why they now call me the Millionaire Mentor.

Excel
Although Excel allows up to 31 characters (including
spaces) for a sheet name, you want to keep your sheet
names much briefer for two reasons:
First, the longer the name, the longer the sheet tab.
And the longer the sheet tab, the fewer tabs can be
displayed. And the fewer the tabs, the more tab
scrolling you have to do to select the sheets you want
to work with.
Second, should you start creating formulas that use
cells in different worksheets, Excel uses the sheet
name as part of the cell reference in the formula. (How
else could Excel keep straight the value in cell C1 on
Sheet1 from the value in cell C1 on Sheet2?!)
Therefore, if your sheet names are long, you end up
with unwieldy formulas in the cells and on the Formula
bar even when you're dealing with simple formulas that
only refer to cells in a couple of different
worksheets.
As a general rule, the fewer characters in a sheet
name, the better.

If indeed you are living someone else's agenda,
you may not realize just how much stress it gives
you. (Could a nervous breakdown be in your
future?) However, once you face this reality and
choose to think "what if" and "how can I" and do
one tiny thing toward changing your life, you
immediately start to relax and take on a more
hopeful attitude. And believe you are never too
late or too old.
Let me give you a fun comparison. I rarely watch
TV, but when I do, it's a program about
renovations or decorating.or cooking! Often you
will see a homeowner get a general contractor to
make up plans for a job, and then work until a
decorator joins them. Here the fun starts as the
unthought of ideas are produced. Now changes
occur. New ideas are suddenly more enticing.and
the costs rise and the project is extended. The
wise homeowner brings in a contractor and the
decorator at the planning stage, and the project
plans then meet everyone's needs. But strategic
planning starts with ONE THOUGHT or several. You
can't avoid thinking and thinking takes quiet
space and time. It also allows you to plan "good
fits", combining your skills, attitude, financial
abilities, with the requirements. Just making a
decision to look, will give you more confidence.
Stress is very harmful physically and mentally. It
can literally poison you. It builds up resentment:
a precursor to hypertension and heart disease.
Release yourself. Give yourself the freedom of

teasing me. She's frisky like a young colt."
Miguele winked at Tim. Then he walked over to
Sharon and put his arms around her and gave her a
big kiss right on the cheek. Sharon was not used
to that kind of attention. She blushed.
"Oh Miss Sharon don't mind him. Its just his
spanish blood coming out in him. He does that to
all the ladies." Abetta was trying to ease the
moment.
In walked Romano and Oomano. "Tim!" Oomano
came running over to him and gave him a big kiss.
Tim backed off, but didn't let her go. "My,
my, what is this?" He asked the question while
patting her tummy.
"Oh, of course you didn't know. Romano and I
are having a baby. I'm seven months gone. Isn't
that terrific. I'm thrilled to my core with the
idea. I'm not so sure Romano is though" she
winked.
"Hi Romano." Tim stepped forward and shook
hands with Romano.
"Hi Tim and who is this pretty little flower
of North American soil you brought to us today?"
Sharon blushed again. These spanish blooded
types have a way of talking and acting she wasn't
used to.
"This is Sharon Smithson. She and I have been
going together for a little while." Tim tried to
cover all the bases.
Romano and Oomano both said hello and shook
Sharon's hand.
"You've been up to more than seeing one
another. You two got it bad!" Romano laughed as he
looked into Sharon's eyes and then into Tim's.
"Man, I think you and I better have a talk!"
Romano was as perceptive as they come. He
could see and instantly recognize where these kids
were in the romance department. "Come, you two,
let's show you around and then we'll talk." He
winked at Miguele and Abetta.
The four of them walked outside, Oomano and
Sharon arm in arm and Romano and Tim out front.
"This is where we were married Sharon. Right
here. We put up a large canvas over this spot and
a friend of ours by the name of Sien married us.
That was a wonderful day. Jesus, Mohammed and
Buddha paid us a visit that day and it was
wonderful."
"No. They couldn't have. They're all dead!"
Sharon was getting a little suspicious here. This
was bordering on the ridiculous, if not
blasphemous, at least as far as she was concerned.
Was this the kind of thing her Mother and Father
warned her against?
Calmly and with love, as was Oomano's way, she
responded, "Oh yes it is true. Tim was here. He
will tell you. Many learned to live by higher law
that day, including Billy Hendricks, Ben and Helen
Striker and the Whites, Jim and Hilda. I think you
know them or at least heard of them."
"Y...y...yes I do. But I had no idea all that
happened here and such a short time ago!"
"Well" said Oomano, "It was at least seven
months ago." She patted her tummy and the pair of
them laughed.
They had walked out well into the yard by now
and could see the huts where all the guests had
stayed when attending for the wedding. Tim and
Romano walked back to where the wedding shelter
had been, manifested chairs and sat down.
The youngsters, all of whom now lived by
higher law, were having a game of ball at the far
end of the lot.
"So you two. You're having a hard time with
sex, aren't you?"
"Wow! You get right to the point don't you?"
Sharon was so surprised that she just spoke up as
if she were speaking to one of the kids in her
class.
"No sense in ducking the obvious. I know you
both want to have sex. In fact you came very close
to it up at Missy's the other day, didn't you?"
"How do you know about that?" Sharon was again
surprised.
"Oh we know a lot Sharon. You will see when
you live by higher law. Your mind and memory are
thinking about such things even now. You did not
know Tim was going to bring you here. Indeed you
hoped he would take you somewhere where you could
be alone and then you would have sex."
"I was not."
"Sharon, you cannot hide from us. Don't bother
to make the attempt. We know all that has gone on.
And don't worry about it. You aren't going through
anything that isn't what everybody else hasn't
gone through. What matters though is the way you
handle it. That's why I wanted to come out here
and talk."
Again, Sharon could not understand how these
people knew so much and could read minds. It made
her uneasy.

I kissed my grandchildren good bye on Monday night, and they

in charge last night but I'm in charge today. It seems as if they
heard and understood. Besides that, today is my formatting day,
