Open Thy Mouth And Thy Foot Might Just Fill It!

Looking in the mall for a cotton nightgown, I tried my
luck in a store known for its sexy lingerie.
To my delight, however, I found just what I was looking
for. Waiting in the line to pay, I noticed a young woman
behind me holding the same nightgown.
This confirmed what I suspected all along: despite being
over 50, I still have a very "with it" attitude. "I see we
have the same taste," I said proudly to the 20-something
behind me.
"Yes," she replied. "I'm getting this for my grandmother."
From time to time I write on this subject. We find it so easy
to assume some things that once in a while we stick our foot
in our mouth. This is just one of those times.
The problem does not lie in her wanting to be the same of
thinking and attitude as the young woman. He problem lay
in her assumption the nightgown the young woman was
picking up was going to be her own.
I don't know how many times I tell my kids that just because
you're sitting in a car doesn't mean you're a driver. It doesn't
even mean you have just come from somewhere or are just
going somewhere. All it means is that you are sitting in a car.
Police and other occupations are well trained in the art of
not assuming. Look behind the scenes to find out what
really happened.
The early RCMP in Canada had an uncanny ability to
"see through" a situation and make right decisions. Their
history is filled with example after example of seeing a
situation that appeared to make one look bad, but knew it
was a person behind him.
Ours can, too, when we get off the emotional roller coaster
and look at life head on. What difference did it make if this
woman had a taste not unlike the young woman behind
her? What was she trying to do, stroke her own ego?
I see this time and again from, of all people, preachers. I was
in a hospital the other day and a preacher came in to visit
the person I was with. During his conversation he made it
known that they held a real intense prayer service for this
young lady.
This guy must not know the scriptures. Therein he is
admonished to not stand on street corners and proclaim
"What a good guy am I". He is further told that is the end of his
reward. He made those comments not to be of benefit to the
patient but to stroke his own ego. I removed myself right
after he said it.
I belong to an organization that teaches it is right to do the
good deed then disappear. Do not wait for thanks. Do not
wait to be recognized. Do the good deed and get out. I like
that. It is amazing the benefits that accrue from doing
it that way.
So remember, make no assumptions...

Your Liver: Understanding Its Functions
And Your Role In Maintaining Its Health
PART 1 of 13
In the last few weeks I have been involved with several
searches on drug interactions. Many people haven't any
idea that your liver is very closely involved. Your
body is like a laboratory. You are consciously or
unconsciously creating "mixes" that you may not choose
to do. So I thought it would be helpful to discuss the
liver as a "body part" and then, talk a little about
tests that can be done to detect possible problems.
I'll discuss some of the more common unhealthy
conditions. I'll touch a little on how to detoxify or
clean your liver.
Lastly, I'll also include some "common sense" ideas
that help you to find ways to maintain a healthy liver.
I am not definitely not an expert, but your liver is a
"body part" that needs a lot more discussion and
understanding. When you feel the urge to learn more,
please check out the links that are included throughout
this article. It is your body and your health, and
ultimately, your lifestyle that is under surveillance.
I'll also share examples of correspondence I continue
to be involved in. You might then think about your own
situation and the need for awareness of possible side
effects when using drugs. As always, please do not use
this information for your own diagnosis, or treatment.
My purpose is to help you understand your body's needs.
This is not meant to be a medical textbook.
Your liver is somewhat larger than the size of a
football and weighing about 2-3 pounds.

The liver is the largest organ in your body. Please
remember that even if people are not the same size,
their livers will be relatively equal in size. It is a
vital organ. In medical terminology that means "to
pertain to or contribute to life forces". So while we
think or feel it is vital for our lives, it really IS
vital for life. You can't live without it. Hence liver
transplants. No other part of your body can replace
your liver's function.
It is located in the upper right-hand side of the
abdomen. If you look down at your chest right now, it
is located on the right side under your ribs, tucked
below the lungs. You body is three dimensional. There
is lots of room inside your torso. Your lungs are
located in your "thoracic" cavity. This is a sac-like
area. The abdominal cavity is directly below it, but in
a different "sac". It's like two different rooms in
your home: each is used for a different purpose.
(Actually one sac requires positive pressure in it
and the other requires negative pressure.) Both sacs
are in front of the spine. So the liver is tucked in
just near the lungs and partially protected by the
lower part of the rib cage, but in the abdominal
cavity. In front of it sits the gallbladder. You will
see the reason for this shortly.

about it. I think we should listen to what Romano
and Oomano are telling us though. Eloise was
trying to tell us the same thing. They don't think
it has anything to do with society, or with
religion. They think it comes back directly to you
and I, these benefits. If we refrain we, too, will
hold our heads high and assume the confidence that
goes with it.
"Yes, plus, if we don't work out then we will
not have that to be ashamed of, or to carry with
us in our memories for the rest of our lives. I
think maybe that is a good idea. We haven't known
each other for that long. Who knows what will
happen. I like being treated with honor and
respect, and when I talk with my folks I won't
have to hide anything. I can look them straight in
the eye and speak frankly. I like that. Boy, you
guys sure come right to the point don't you?"
"Sharon, when you live by higher law there are
no secrets. Nothing is hidden. We do not hide from
what you might think sensitive subjects. We do not
beat around the bush just out of courtesy. The law
'As ye sow, so shall ye reap' says it all. For
every act there is a result. For every thought
there is a result. For every desire there are
consequences. Only when you study those and live
by that law can you live in your Maker's world. It
is a matter of choice. We like you very much. But
in the sense of higher law, Tim is a brother and
we want him to have full knowledge of things
before he makes a decision. I hope you will join
us and become one of us. That is a choice only you
can make. But when you do you too, will see what
we mean." Oomano put her arms around Sharon and
stood her up. They walked for a ways and chatted
quietly.
"That is one pretty lady, Tim. She is very
nice" Romano was winking at Tim.
"I know and you hit the nail right on the head
with that sex thing. Thank you for that for Sharon
was beginning to believe I didn't want her. She
has been given everything she has ever wanted by
her parents. She doesn't take 'no' well. But that
is all part of learning isn't it?"
"You bet."
"So, you're going to be a papa!" Tim spoke the
question more as an exclamation and not asking.
"Yes and I think its great. Even though the
child is not even born yet I can see it brings a
whole new perspective to life. Already I feel
sorry for those who decide not to have children. I
think I'm going to have fun with my children, and
Oomano is thrilled to death. She has always loved
kids and having one of her own will really make
the child special. I'm going to have to see to it
we have more, right away quick, so she doesn't get
too involved with just the one."
"That's good Romano. I'm happy for you. I
haven't been seeing Sharon for long but I sure
think she's a beauty. She appears interested in
higher law, too."
"Good. That will be a big help. Don't place
yourself in any position to make a forced
decision. Make sure all is right before you do.
"Thanks, I will.
The girls came back and they all walked into
the house.
"Come, sit down to supper. You two young ones
must be starved. I hope you like hot food Sharon.
We spanish types like it hot.
Sharon looked at Tim to see if he thought that
would be a good idea. Tim nodded.
"That would be very nice Mrs. Pietro. Thank
you."
They all sat down and began to eat. Oomano sat
beside Sharon. They were looking at a dish of
fried chicken and hot vegetables. "Mom did not
make any of the food hot, Sharon. She made it all
bland like you North Americans like it, but she
put all the hot stuff in these little dishes.
These sauces and peppers will be very hot, so be
careful."
Abetta could cook up a storm. She was a cook
who put all kinds of love into her cooking and
when a meal hit the table it was always very good.
Sharon could hardly remember when she had tasted
chicken so tasty. Pushing back from her third
helping she observed, "Thank you very much Mrs.
Pietro. That was fantastic."
"Oh, it was nothing." came Abetta's typical
humble reply. She did like to see people eat.
"So all you people live by higher law?" Sharon
asked the question in a way that surprised them.
Abetta responded, lovingly, "Yes Sharon we do.
If it were not for Tim's sister Missy, we would
not. We were very poor at one time until she came
into out lives and that changed everything. My
husband, Miguele, went to rob her while she was
walking on the street. She turned to face him and
broadcast love toward him and disarmed his
attitude completely. He broke down and cried.
Being a thief was not in his character, but he was
desperate. It was lucky for us it was Missy whom
he approached. She told him to go home, that there
he would find lots of food, a clean house and his
kids dressed up in clean clothes. He believed her
and it was so. The next day she came over here
without know where we lived and gave us that truck
outside, and with that Miguele has been able to
earn a very good living for us. Then Missy took
Oomano and Riata and showed them higher law. The
girls took to it and they have been a magnificent
pair. Miguele and I learned higher law at Romano's
and Oomano's wedding when Jesus, Mohammed and
Buddha came for a visit. Lots of people learned
that day. It was a wonderful wedding gift."
"Oh, I wish it could be that easy for me."
There is was, Stated out loud. Her wish was to
learn higher law.
