Universal Success Secrets

Are there any universal laws that most
successful people seem to follow? Great question, huh?
With that in mind, I began listing some common denominators in
order to share them with others. I've been very fortunate to have
had some success in my life, as well as the opportunity to meet
with some very powerful and influential people over the years.
These are the common laws that each seemed to follow, and I
now wish to share them with you.
Universal Success Secrets
1. Always maintain a positive, solution-seeking attitude.
2. To truly succeed at anything, your chances increase when you
enjoy the task. When you do what you love and love what you do,
you?ll have success your whole life through.
3. The only limitations you really have are those you give
yourself.
4. The only expectations you need to fulfill are those you give
yourself.
5. Nothing is as powerful as a positive attitude, and nothing is
as detrimental as a negative one.
6. Morally speaking, if you have to wonder whether something is
right or wrong, chances are it?s wrong.
7. When you focus on other people's success, yours is sure to
follow.
8. Live your word. Lead by example.
9. Share. (Wealth + Information + Glory = Success)
10. You have the best chance of reaching a goal by simply giving
yourself one to reach.
11. Observe every obstacle as a learning experience. The greater
the challenge, the greater the reward.
12. Do the hardest thing first, and the rest will be easy.
13. Treat others the way that they want to be treated.
14. Few great accomplishments have ever been achieved by anyone
alone; seek support from those whose talents exceed your own.
15. You are the reflection of the five people you associate with
most, and your income is the average of those five people. Choose
your friends wisely.
16. A dream written down with a date becomes a GOAL. A goal
broken down into steps becomes a PLAN. A plan backed by ACTION

Picture Charts
You can create a picture chart using a method that doesn't
require that the image exists in a file. This technique works as
long as the image can be copied to the Clipboard.
The first step is to locate the image that you want and copy it
to the Clipboard. Generally, simpler images work better.
When the image is on the Clipboard, activate the chart, select
the data series, and choose the Edit, Paste command (Alt, E, P).
Your chart is converted. You also can paste the image to a single
point in the data series, rather than the entire data series.
Just select the point before you paste. This technique also works
with data markers in line charts, XY (scatter) charts, or bubble
charts.

Your Liver: Understanding Its Functions
And Your Role In Maintaining Its Health

Basically in liver disease, you are looking at causes,
effects, and possible further outcomes. There are many
causes of liver disease. The term "Hepatitis" simply
means an inflammation or infection of the liver. But we
have learned to use it for the actual diseases related
to the A, B, C, etc. of Hepatitis. The term "hepatitis"
really does scare people! There are several types of
hepatitis, and they show up as acute and chronic, but
there are other liver-related conditions. More about
that a little later. Many "infected" people won't have
symptoms until liver damage occurs: sometimes many
years later.

If you keep in mind the true definition (inflammation
of the liver), it isn't so scary. Hepatomegaly means an
enlargement of the liver beyond its normal size. If it
's large enough, it can be easily felt (palpated) just
under the ribs on your right side. It would be tender
to touch. This is usually an indication of a
liver-related disease such as cancer of the liver.
I had a good friend whose co-workers thought he had a
big beer belly. They would punch him in the stomach in
jest, until he had to tell them that he had cancer of
his liver. What a shock! But many people don't have
symptoms until a lot later.
The signs and symptoms for both the chronic and acute
forms of liver disease are very similar. But the
origins are very different. Chronic conditions
include the viral infections such as Hepatitis. The
acute forms would come most commonly from drug-induced
hepatitis.

It was very hard for Sharon's father to
understand that his daughter could communicate
with Tim, when there was no phone in her room.
"Daddy, I don't know how it happened either. The
other night I was just lying on my bed thinking
about Tim. I was thinking and thinking about him.
The first thing I knew it was as if I was having a
conversation with him. It was weird. I just kept
it up and so did he. He told me that whenever I
wanted to communicate with him all I had to do was
think of him and then, in my mind, say what I
wanted to say. We've done it now several times
and it always seems to work. I know it sounds
strange to you Daddy, but that is what I just
did."
"I don't understand it, but if you say that is
how it works then I'll have to believe you. That
will sure give us more phone time, Mom." He
laughed. They both knew Sharon was a phone addict.
"You won't even need your cell phone now, Sharon.
Sharon Smithson, like all the North American
kids of her generation, had a cell phone. She
never went anywhere without it. Uniquely, these
past two or three days she had forgotten about it
entirely. That is how involved she had been with
Tim, the travel, the fight with her folks and all
the emotional stuff.
"Oh my God! I haven't even spoken with Jill
these past two or three days. I haven't even used
my cell phone. Gosh, where has the time gone?
Daddy I must go phone Jill. She must have been
trying to reach me. Tim said he would come
tomorrow for supper." With that Sharon went
downstairs to the rumpus room where the family had
a second telephone and phoned her friend.
The next day they again met at the restaurant.
This day though Sharon did not skip class.
"I'm glad you didn't skip class. Sooner or
later that would have caught up with us and you
would have been the one that had to answer. So how
did it go with your folks last night? Sounds to me
as if things went well."
"It did. I used the technique you told me
about, the one about being calm, slow, purposeful,
and loving. When I did not get into an argument
they didn't either. Then I played a bit of a game
that maybe I should not have. I asked Dad if it
was true that men hurt if they have unrealized
sexual urges. It was a real shock when I asked.
The house got so still you could have heard a
piece of dust fall."
"Damn, Sharon, are you sure you should have
done that? Folks worry over their daughters and
sex you know. You don't want to go pushing too
many alarm buttons."
"Don't worry. I told them about our
conversation with Romano and Oomano and that they
encouraged us to refrain from sex. Then I told
them about how the conversation came around to
that. I guess my Dad was one who told Mom that she
was responsible for his pain and they had sex. He
thought you were much more of a man than he
thought when I told him you never even mentioned
it and that you weren't going to have sex with me,
at least until we knew where we were going. It was
at that point he suggested he might want to see
you. My Mom, too, was impressed."
"I hope you didn't go too far. I don't want to
appear as if I'm superman." The pair of them were
holding hands across the table in the booth. Other
kids from school were there, including Sharon's
friend Jill.
The kids began to tease and taunt Sharon.
"Let's get out of here Tim. They aren't going to
let us be."
"Sounds good to me."
They rose to leave. Tim picked up the bill and
went to the cashier to pay it. Sharon accompanied
him and was on her way out the door by the time he
caught up. "Where now?"
"Well, since you taught me to be such a good
little girl, maybe we should go to my place. That
would put us home just about the time I'm usually
home. It's about an hour yet until supper. Daddy
won't be home for a half hour. We might as well
start walking that way."
That is exactly what they did. "I told Mom and
Dad that I had supper in South America. I told
them that Mr. and Mrs. Pietro's house was in a
city called Matto Grosso. They didn't believe me
so you might have to explain that."
"That's okay, Sharon. I can handle that. I
just don't want your folks to think I'm using,
abusing and then leaving you, their daughter, with
a broken heart. I want them to genuinely feel
their daughter and her boyfriend are worthy of
their trust."
"I'm sure they will think that after tonight.
I think they already think that. We'll see."
They had arrived at the Smithson household.
Sharon took Tim around the back to the door she
always used. Stepping inside she yelled "Mom!
We're home!" That was her usual call when she came
in the house."
