Safe In Your Own Little Cocoon

A father put his three year old daughter to bed, told
her a story and listened to her prayers which she
ended by saying "God bless mommy, God bless
daddy, God bless grandma, and goodbye grandpa."
The father said, "Why did you say good-bye grandpa?"
The little girl said "I don't know daddy, it just seemed
like the thing to do."
The next day grandpa died.
Father thought it was a strange coincidence. A few
months later the father put the girl to bed and listened
to her prayers, which went like this: "God bless mommy,
God bless daddy and good-bye grandma."
Next day the grandmother died.
My gosh, thought the father, this kid is in contact with
the other side.
Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed
the dad heard her say "God bless mommy and
good-bye daddy."
He practically went into shock. Couldn't sleep all night
and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He
was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch sent in and
watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until
midnight he would be OK. He felt safe in the office,
so instead of going home at the end of the day he
stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch and
jumping at every sound. Finally midnight arrived, he
breathed a sigh of relief and went home.
When he got home his wife said "I've never seen you
work so late, what's the matter?"
He said "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the
worst day of my life."
She said "You think you had a bad day, you'll never
believe what happened to me. This morning the
mailman dropped dead on our porch."
Fascinating little story isn't it? All the way through we
thought the father was the man who put the little girl to
bed. The implication of the joke is, of course, that the
mailman ended up being the father.
It brings out what I call one of life's greatest tragedies.
We all move around in our daily lives as if we know
everything within our own little sphere. Then something
happens like in the joke above, to show us we really
don't know everything.
In fact few of us know everything going on around us.
We just pretend we do and continue to do so until some
kind of a catastrophe wakes us up for a short while.
The point here is that all of life is a learning ground. If we,
by choice, keep looking, asking, knocking then we
continually expand our horizons and experience a
growth and joy. Life does not begin or end with our
little circle.
For the one who is inquisitive and always looking to new
and different things, that one usually has fewer
catastrophes in life. That one is usually prepared for
more things to confront him/her, and, as a rule tackles
new things as if they are fun. The rewards are many for
those who do not take life for granted, who look at life
as a never ending learning experience. Where do
you stand? Are you...

If you use over-the-counter medications, follow the
recommended doses. Did you realise that these
medications can damage the liver when taken in doses
that are not much greater than the prescribed dose?
Call your health care provider if symptoms of hepatitis
develop after you start a new medication. (They
include: Jaundice (yellow tinge to your skin),
fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting,
headache, abdominal pain, dark urine (dark
yellow), diarrhea, and distinctive white or
clay-colored stools.)
If you already know you have liver disease for whatever
reason, it is crucial that you make your medical team
aware and prevent further possible damage. Also check
Medline for drugs you should not be taking. There is no
specific treatment for drug-induced hepatitis other
than discontinuing the medication that's causing the
problem. Usually, drug-related hepatitis subsides
within days or weeks after the offending drug
is stopped.
If you have been diagnosed with drug-induced hepatitis
and have been advised to discontinue taking a
medication, call your health care provider if
symptoms do not improve after the medication is
discontinued or if any new symptoms develop.
If the liver's filtration mechanism and other processes
aren't in good working order, these chemicals or toxins
will not be removed. They will then continue to
circulate in your body and find new, but
less desirable homes.
But here are some examples of other problems areas. Did
you realise that you are exposed to significant levels
of potentially toxic compounds each time you use common
household items such as cleaning agents, furniture
polish, bug spray or even cosmetics and hair spray? Did
you realise that there is formaldehyde in many things?
(Another toxin.) How about artificial sweeteners or
now the big one: amalgam or mercury fillings?
Time-release fertilizers and pesticides, etc. plus many
other chemicals are included.
Under normal conditions, your body can fight off
disease and stay healthy. However, in an increasingly
toxic world, we are bombarded by pollution, pesticides,
processed food, stimulants, stress, and other toxins.

Tim knew that if he began to talk down the
church, at this table this night, then word would
get out and Pinehill would, once more, be in an
uproar. He refrained and began to change the
thrust and tone of the talk.
"Yes, you're right. You're remarkable mature
for a young man."
"Thank you. There is a law I want to leave
with you. It is the foundation law of all the
universe. 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.' It means
that every thought you give your mind shall
produce fruit for you. Your choice is either to
have those thoughts good thoughts or angry,
emotional and twisted thoughts. Both will bring
forth fruit. What results would you like to have
in your life Bob?"
"That's a trick question. The answer is
obvious."
"It really isn't a trick question. It is time
you had a look at the thoughts you have been
having in terms of this law. I know you think that
everything you think about is good. I am not the
judge here, the law is. What I want you to look at
is how many times do you think evil or bad
thoughts about someone or something? How many
times are you given a task at work that you feel
is useless and you walk away grumbling about it?"
"I do that once a week or more. Why should
that affect me?"
"Is your grumbling bringing forth good things?
If you chose to embrace the task, enthusiastically
and happily would things change inside you? For
the better?"
"I suppose it would. I never thought about it.
I just have a boss that isn't always clear about
the direction he wants to take."
"Sure you do. Everybody does. What is
important here though is what direction are you
going to take. Would your life become easier and
more fruitful if you changed the way you reacted
to that condition?"
"I never thought about it. I suppose it
would."
"The truth is Bob, yes your life would change.
If you began to think first of your reactions and
then question them until they were all good you
would soon find life changing for you and your
family. As you become more happy, enthusiastic yet
grounded, that all rubs off on the family as well.
So not only do you change your circumstances at
work, but you change them at home, too. Once that
begins to take hold you will find a whole bunch of
things going better. You will find life to be more
prosperous. You will find beneficial things
beginning to happen 'coincidentally'. You will
find life easier. Is that motivation enough to
change the way you do things?"
"Yes. It certainly is. Thank you."
"Remember, it is not I. It is the law. Look at
everything you do through the veil of the law 'As
ye sow, so shall ye reap.' That way you will now
begin to have the law work in your favor, rather
than having it work against you."
"That seems simple enough. I can do that."
"Good. When you are well practiced at it, when
you have had a good deal of time to see and get
into the habit of thinking in these terms, then
you will be ready for the next step to living by
higher law. All these things are your choice, Bob.
None can or will be forced upon you. If you
persist in your learning then you, too, will be
able to manifest anything you want. At that point
what need of you for money?"
"Wow. I don't know. I never thought of that
either. If I can manifest anything I want or need,
why would I need money?"
"When a master is that accomplished he needs
no more support from any of man's systems. He does
not need money or anything else man has to offer.
Are you seeing answers to some of the questions
you were going to ask me, like what am I going to
do for a living?"
"It gets to be pretty clear doesn't it. Where
did you learn all this?"
"You remember that trip my sister took along
with David Wiley? The whole town talked about it.
Everyone thought it was the most foolish thing
they had ever heard about."
"We remember. It sure sounded dangerous to me.
I don't think I would have let my daughter go."

I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase when the
clerk noticed that I had never signed my name on the back of the
credit card. She informed me that she would not complete the
transaction unless the card was signed. When I asked why, she
explained that it was necessary to compare the signature on the
credit card with the signature I just signed on the receipt. So I
signed the credit card in front of her. She carefully compared
that signature to the one I signed on the receipt. As luck would
have it, they matched.
