What destroyed the Parthenon?
Partly just age. The Parthenon in Athens, Greece, was built
way back in the fifth century BC to honor the goddess Athena.
Quite a time ago. But mostly the Turks. In 1687, when the
Turks were fighting the Venetians, they decided to use the
Parthenon as a gunpowder storage center. Bad idea. A
bombardment ignited the whole building. What wasn't
destroyed, the Turks later tried to sell. Many sculptures from
the building were sold to a British nobleman in the early 1800's.
(The British museum, to this day, refuses to return them to Greece.)
Other damage to the Parthenon occurred during an earthquake
in 1981 and during (ironically) a poor attempt in 1844 to
restore the building.
How did hamburgers get their name?
Hamburgers, of course, have no ham in them. The name comes
from the German town of "Hamburg," where the custom of serving
ground meet originated.

Where's Your Self Confidence?

"Hey, Mom," asked Johnny "can you give me twenty dollars?"
"Certainly not."
"If you do," he went on, "I'll tell you what dad said to the
maid when you were at the beauty shop."
His mother's ears perked up and, grabbing her purse, she
handed over the money. "Well? What did he say?"
"He said, 'Hey, Marie, make sure you wash my socks
tomorrow.' "
The joke might be cute, but the thing that impresses me
about this is her complete lack of confidence and trust.
If one is not confident in their relationship with others they
can develop a paranoia, just like the woman in this joke.
You might say, "Well maybe her husband is running around
on her." Then I say to you that it could be he has reason.
When a woman is a confident mate few males will stray.
When a mate, male or female, lacks confidence in themselves
they look for opportunities for they mate to stray. Sooner or
later they'll find it. What a shame, when all they need do is
work on their own self confidence.
What does that do? For starters it changes you point of view
entirely. Instead of concentrating on your weaknesses and
looking for results therefrom you are not concentrating on
your strong points and acting thereon. The difference in all
your relationships will show up immediately.
What people like in relationships is equality. Oh, yes, there
are those who want to beat you down, and so long as you
go down that appears to be what they want. However,
sooner or later they will look for an equal for only an equal
presents a challenge, a sharing, a loyalty.
Some feel there is need for one to be dominant and one to
be subservient. You can believe that nonsense if you like,
but give me someone with courage and confidence to share
my life with me. Don't give me someone for whom I must do
the work, the thinking and the defending. I don't want a child
as a mate I want a mate that is my equal.
I want this because after all the testing, after all they tirades,
after all the attempts to be the dominant party in a relationship,
and after all that has failed because each of us realizes our
partner is an equal..... I have a friend.

While your body is trying to deal with these toxins, we
then deprive it of essential nutrients needed to
neutralize and dispose of them or add more
chemicals in the form of drugs. They used to be in our
foods, but now our highly processed foods have lost a
lot of their nutrient value. "If these toxins or
blockages are left in the system too long,
they can manifest themselves into a physical disorder,
an imbalance, or even a degenerative disease such as
cancer. Whenever the body is out of balance, the first
order of events is to remove the toxins."

Nothing to be done except rest and eat well? I would
challenge that. We now know that many degenerative
conditions can be helped or even overcome. How?
You need to rebuild the body's defense mechanism
including the immune system. You also need to think
about removing the offending "causative agent". Much
of hepatitis regime is built on the concept of eating
well and rest. Eating well is the real challenge, but
nutrients are the only way to restore energy to the
liver and all its activities.
Let's discuss detoxification a little bit. Before it is
sensible to think about healing, it is important to do
things that are in your immediate "reach". Much of it
has to do with common sense and avoidance. If you drink
heavily or regularly, you should completely avoid these
medications or discuss safe doses with your physician.
Other problem drugs for the liver include the general
anesthetic halothane, methyldopa, isoniazid (used for
the treatment of tuberculosis), methotrexate, and
amiodarone. Here is one you should be recognizing:
drugs that are HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors, which are
also called statins.

Use caution and common sense regarding intimate
contact. Hepatitis C, spread primarily through direct
blood contact, can be transmitted through contaminated
needles used in tattooing, body piercing, or IV drug
injection. Did you know that untreated, chronic
hepatitis B and C can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer
and is the most frequent reason for liver transplants.
So not only is the cirrhosis causing scar tissue, but
it also causes the toxins to be stored. (That part of
the liver is useless now.)
Here are a few things we can all do to keep our livers
in good working order. The American Liver Association
has more good ideas.

three days food. The people who had taken them to
that spot left in the middle of the night without
even saying good bye. You can imagine the fear
that set into both their hearts. But my sister had
been shown by Dad, how to go inside to find
answers. That is what she did. There, in the
middle of an environment she did not know and
where her life was at stake, she learned to go
inside for direction. The more she did this the
more she found answers and the more she wanted to
go inside. Finally, one day, she made a commitment
to live her life like this always. At that moment
a guide came and began working with her. She was
shown how to manifest, how to think, how to act.
Then when she had it practiced, she came home and
show us. We made similar choices about commitment
and the rest you know."
"You make it sound so interesting and easy."
Sharon's father was curious.
"It is easy. Except one's belief system often
gets in the way. You have been taught for so many
years that you do not ever get something for
nothing that it is difficult to overcome that.
Here you don't get something for nothing either,
but you put in thought and direction, plus you
have the faith. Then you get and/or manifest what
you want. It all boils down to belief. What you
believe, you will see. That is the lesson Jesus
came to teach."
"So, what you are saying is that when I
believe I am something, or will have something, it
shall be so?"
"Of course. And further, I am saying that
until that condition is true you will not be or
have that something. That is the law, 'As ye sow,
so shall ye reap.'"
"There's that law again. Explain it to me."
"There isn't much to explain. The law is
pretty clear. I think what you might not fully
understand is it's application. I'm going to get
personal here, if that is okay with you?"
"Yes, go ahead."
"The other night when you and Sharon were
fighting, let's look at what happened. It involves
the law. You were sitting talking. You, Bob were
already frustrated and being the stern father.
Sharon too was frustrated because she knew she had
done right and knew what she had seen. When you
refused to believe her that made her the more
frustrated. Finally she became angry. That is
where the law took over. The pair of you were some
frustrated during the discussion and it was
building as it went along. However, when Sharon
blew up in anger, that made both you and your wife
angry too, did it not?"
"As I look back I think that is the way it
happened."
"Then she ran into her room, slammed the door,
which only added fuel to your anger. Worse, she
locked her door, effectively cutting you out of
her life for that moment. That made you the more
angry. The law says that anger begets anger, love
begets love, 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.'"
"I can see that.
"It took a shock to bring everyone back to
their senses. You did not mean to hit Sharon, she
knows that, but when you went to bang on the door
and the door was not there, but her nose was, that
was the shock that made everyone begin to think
about what they were doing, about how much out of
control they were."
"You're telling me."
"Well, Bob, all I really wanted to tell you,
or rather show you, is how Sharon's anger brought
on your anger. The law works. You can do the same,
we all can. The next thing I want to show you is
the follow up. Unknown to you, Sharon called me. I
came into her room immediately, cleaned her up and
reset her nose, removing her pain. Then we spoke.
I began to show her how calm, loving communication
works best. I suggested that you and her mother
did not see what she had seen and that the church
had you believing that I and my family were of the
devil. She must therefor speak her piece calmly
and with love and trust that sooner or later you
would come to see the truth. Do you remember her
coming out of her room and speaking to you with a
different demeanor?"
"Yes. In fact we all did. That hitting her on
the nose thing changed all of us."

was working, the suspect confessed.
