Did Cleopatra have children with Marc Antony?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

Did Cleopatra really kill herself with an asp?

Legend says that Cleopatra committed suicide by letting a
venomous asp bite her arm (or, in another version, her
breasts). Did she really? It's impossible to know for sure,
but some historians do believe she died from the venom of an
asp. She probably didn't let the asp bite her, though.
Cleopatra was said to be fond of experimenting with poisons,
putting them in food and testing them out on servants she
didn't like to see how long it would take for them to die.
Supposedly, when the dead Cleopatra was discovered, they
also found a dead serving girl - the one who would have
tested the poison first to make sure it was quick. The asp
was a symbol of divine Egyptian royalty and also signified
immortality.

Is it true that Cleopatra wasn't really Egyptian?

There were several Egyptian queens named Cleopatra, but the
famous one we think of when we say "Cleopatra" was actually
not of Egyptian blood. Her bloodlines were Greek, Persian,
and Macedonian. Her Greek ancestors had ruled Greece since
the death of Alexander the Great.

Perspective Is Everything!

One day a guy died and found himself in hell. As he was
wallowing in despair, he had his first meeting with a demon.

The demon asked, "Why so glum?"

The guy responded, "What do you think? I'm in hell!"

"Hell's not so bad," the demon said. "We actually have a lot
of fun down here. You a drinking man?"

"Sure," the man said, "I love to drink."

"Well you're gonna love Mondays then. On Mondays all we do
is drink. Whiskey, tequila, Guinness, wine coolers, diet Tab
and Fresca. We drink till we throw up and then we drink some
more!"

The guy is astounded. "Damn, that sounds great."

"You a smoker?" the demon asked. "You better believe it!"

"You're gonna love Tuesdays. We get the finest cigars from
all over the world and smoke our lungs out. If you get
cancer, no biggie. You're already dead, remember?"

"Wow, the guy said, "that's awesome!"

The demon continued. "I bet you like to gamble."

"Why yes, as a matter of fact I do."

"Wednesdays you can gamble all you want. Craps, blackjack,
roulette, poker, slots, whatever. If you go bankrupt, well,
you're dead anyhow. You into drugs?"

The guy said, "Are you kidding? I love drugs! You don't mean
. . ."

"That's right! Thursday is drug day. Help yourself to a
great big bowl of crack, or smack. Smoke a doobie the size
of a submarine. You can do all the drugs you want, you're
dead, who cares!"

"Wow," the guy said, starting to feel better about his
situation, "I never realized Hell was such a cool place!"

The demon said, "You gay?"

"No."

"Ooooh, you're gonna hate Fridays

Funny, isn't it, how our persptective controls what and how
we think?

Many of us have a different picture of Hell than this.

The same is true in life. We walk around with certain views
of life, thinking they are important, and miss out entirely
on the "real message" our Maker is trying to offer.

I often wondered why it was so hard to find "the message".
Then one day it became apparent that an army made up of
volunteers is infinitely stronger than an army of
conscripts.

You get "the message" AND the benefits only when you
demonstrate you are seriously and genuinely interested in
"the message". No one is going to go around performing
miracles just so you can ask them to perform another one!

The laws are set. The rules are there. You go for it and you
win. You keep looking for miracles you lose.

The army your Maker wants is one who has chosen to be there.
The question is are you going to be one of them?

Your Immune System: Delicate Yet Critical
How It Serves You And Why You Need To Keep It Healthy
PART 7 of 12

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, here lie
some answers. Our bodies are meant to function until you die
of old age. And the Immune System is there to help you
achieve that goal. Does it not make sense then to learn how
to care for and feed it wisely? Arthritis, Lupus, Cancer,
Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes,
Alzheimer's, etc. are not aging conditions. They are
degenerative conditions. And can be handled very differently
and very hopefully.

Here are a couple of examples from other parts of "life" to
help you "connect" this new knowledge to your "real" life
experiences. You have a new lawn. You are excited and proud,
and spend a lot of "quality time" nurturing it. You water
it, feed it, cut it, check it for bugs, and treat those. And
if you find moss, (heaven forbid!) you stamp it out with its
own "killer". Then you add more chemicals in the fall to
prevent other problems. This is your work of art. You treat
your car the very same and proud way.

Or relate your body to a new house. You polish it and dust
it. You vacuum it very frequently. You are a very proud
homeowner. It is said that for most of us, our homes will
be our most prized possession (well apart from guys and
their cars, right?) The point is that you wouldn't forget to
clean your home or fertilize your lawn or wash and polish
your car. As the proud homeowner of your body, you should be
giving the same high degree of attention to it. All the
time...till you are "old": not degenerating. Your parents
did it for you till you could take over. Then other things
got in the way and you began to take it for granted. Your
body is tremendously forgiving...up to a point.

An aging condition is natural and happens because the body
delivers less of a product i.e. less lubricant, in a slower
manner, or meets a change of needs and adjusts accordingly.
For instance in an aging knee, the fluid produced would be
less in amount, and you would be moving it less, so the
entire fluid process wouldn't let you move as fast. In an
arthritic knee, the inner surfaces deteriorate from overuse
(any number of reasons): not from aging, causing the fluid
to dry up much faster. (It's the movement of the knee joint
that produces the natural lubricating fluid, Glucosamine.)
In relation to sugars, a healthy body is normally ready only
to manufacture as much insulin as needed. For instance, in
Diabetes, the process of balancing the insulin production
and sugar intake is impaired. This is not aging: it's
degeneration.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

All this happened right in front of one of the
church places. The report was back to the cardinal
even before the ambulance people had reached
medical facilities.

The cardinal cursed under his breath. What
kind of a fool had he hired? One thing was clear.
The next time he picked someone he better make
sure that person had more smarts than the last
one.

That this happened didn't even clue in to the
cardinal that the same forces that fouled the
church up the last time they tried, were still at
work now.

The cardinal suddenly remembered that the
shops he set up were no longer being visited, but
that didn't mean that the priests couldn't move
out of the area to be a little closer to the
shrine, and sit on a chair on a sidewalk
someplace. They could be as effective doing that.

He sent out the order and before the day was
out the priests were out of their "Holy places"
and aggressively trying to speak with the people.
They were not like circus barkers, they simply sat
on a chair on the sidewalk and waited for folks to
acknowledge them. Once they did the priest would
speak up.

Sam, of course knew what was happening. He
immediately placed a shield around every priest
that no one but another priest could see them or
hear them.

That brought on much confusion. Even the
cardinal's secretaries could no longer see him or
any priest. Any personal servants, even the nuns,
could no longer see the priests. Within minutes
there was much chaos and confusion within the
city.

Even those parishioners who had faithfully
remained at church could no longer see the
priests. Those who went for confession could see
or hear no one. When they called out in church
they received no answer.

The priests would speak back but their words
would only bounce off the shield around them and
come back to their own ears. The louder they
called the louder the noise within the shield. But
no one outside the shield heard a sound.

When they met up with another priest their
shields blended or melded. They then could speak
with one another.

Sam had arranged it so even their use of the
telephone did not work. They could not even phone
each other.

By the end of the day a few had discovered
they could speak with each other. Some even tried
to physically grab those parishioners who wanted
to speak with them. Their arms and hands could not
get out past their shields and no outsider was
permitted inside the shield. Each priest was in
his own little world.

Some reacted with fear. This was not normal,
neither planned. It became forced isolation and it
was scary. There were many priests who had been
visiting local women. This practice was stopped by
the shield. Some were using little boys. This was
stopped by the shield. Some would frequent a
convent to visit nuns, but this no longer worked
either. They were entirely isolated from all but
other priests. It scared many of them. They did
not understand what was happening.

As for the priests on the street, they, too,
were unnoticed by the public. Not one person
acknowledged them, spoke to them, even nodded to
them. They had no collection of money and no
contact with the public. As they moved through
crowds, people would move out of their way as if
the shield was pushing them away. The public knew
nothing of this. It simply seemed a natural thing.

Sam had caused this to happen to all priests
within a 100 mile radius. Those outside the city
had no idea what was happening. The church was now
completely isolated. They only thing they could do
was talk amongst themselves. It was not long
before fear was having it's way.

Each time a priest stumbled upon another there
was a sigh of relief. Finally they had met up with
someone and could speak with them. As they
assembled and came together they were fearful.

Fear experienced by one individual often does
no harm to any but that individual. However they
strike out it is entirely a localized event
usually harming not many, if any, other than
themselves.

Fear, however, when expressed by each
individual within a group, becomes a different
matter. Infighting develops, violence erupts,
leadership fails. Panic is a natural outcome and
for those who are unable to live with themselves
but need others for support, they start grabbing
others requiring they do something to solve the
situation. Being unable these then cast the weak
aside and the first thing you know there is
wailing, gnashing of teeth, violence and all sorts
of activity men would not engage in otherwise.
That these are "men of God" does not matter. They
are just as prone to life's maladies as are the
rest of the world. In fact they have been so
isolated from the real world that when the real
world is visited upon them they disintegrate in
personal stature and behavior.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

Jack Robinson: What is the origin of the expression "before
you can say Jack Robinson"?

There are several explanations of this phrase; but the best
story is of a very volatile gentleman-about-town named Jack
Robinson. Robinson used to go calling on his friends and
would then change his mind and leave before his name could
be announced.

Dawson and his wife, Jennifer, had been debating buying a
vehicle for weeks. He wanted a truck. She wanted a fast
little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic
around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up
old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of
their price range.

"Look!" she said. "I want something that goes from 0 to 200
in just a few seconds. Nothing else will do. My birthday is
coming up so surprise me!"

Dawson did just that. For her birthday, he bought her a
brand new bathroom scale.

Nobody has seen or heard from him since.
