Only Give Gifts From The Heart!
STOP! Before you buy another gift, think. What is the
greatest gift you can give? LOVE. Love is wrapping
together respect, time, attention and service. Feeling
loved is the best gift of all. Different people recognize
it in different packages, so, you must be an excellent
'shopper'.
This is a great departure from that old idea that people
give gifts that they most want to receive. That may well be
true, however, let's make gift-giving about the receiver.
What about the folks on your list? What is it that tells
them they are loved and appreciated?
You may have someone on your gift list that lights up when
you do something special for her. When my husband washes my
car or offers to run an errand for me, without fuss or
ingratiation, I feel loved. The perfect gift for a person
like me is a hand-written coupon with a promise. It only
works when the coupon is honoured, of course! That is what
makes me feel loved. How about you?
You may know someone who places a high value on receiving
the perfect item, the one thing that shows you know what he
values. These folks often have a list of preferred gifts.
Good thing! That makes it easier to ensure they will like
what you give them.
Remember, it's not cheating to ask for what you want. In
fact, it can be a very loving gesture. Why not tell the
folks you love what will warm your heart? It gives them a
sure way of demonstrating their love. Of course, this can be
abused. At this time of year, the media is filled with
suggestions that supposedly demonstrate your love. What
really does that is a gift that says, "I know who you are
and I was listening."
Have you told her lately that you love her? Lately enough?
Recently on television, I watched a case in Moral Court.
The woman brought her partner there because he would not say
"I love you" often enough. In particular, he would not
respond to her "I love you" with one of his own. His
position was that he would say it when it was appropriate
and daily was not it! After determining that the fellow did
in fact love this woman, the judge ruled in the woman's
favor saying that, if he truly loved her, he would want her
to feel loved. Obviously, she needed to hear that love
expressed to feel loved. Most folks like hearing it. In
fact, I'm sure I have never met someone who did not...even
those who blush each time!
Here is another good coupon idea: a massage, a foot rub, or
a back scratch. Maybe, a coupon for a hug and kiss a day for
a year! Great gifts for those who find that physical touch
keeps them feeling connected and feeling loved. Withholding
these expressions of love is often a bid for control that
can destroy a relationship. Remember, too, that the issue
is touch that conveys your caring. Sex is another matter
for another discussion.
In this fast-paced, I-want-it-yesterday world, the one gift
someone on your list may be craving is your time, quality
time together. I am an only child and my parents owned a
corner store. There were always a million things needing
their attention. One day when I was about seven years old, I
asked my mother to do something with me. She gave me her
usual answer, "I'm too busy." I guess I was a forthright
child because I distinctly remember saying to her, "You're
always too tired or too busy. Why did you have me?"
The gift of time can light up a heart. If there is someone
on your list who values your company, plan to do something
special with them. And, during that special time, give them
your undivided attention. Often, when working with couples,
I would hear one accuse the other, "You never spend time
with me." The accused would often reply with, "What do you
mean? We watch television together every night." Wrong.
It's not the just hands on the clock going around while you
are together. It's the attention paid during the passage of
time that counts.
No more 'have-to' or 'should' gifts this year. A gift that
comes from your heart rather than your guilt or pocketbook
requires thought. The gifts that touch hearts say "I know
who you are and I care." Those are the only real gifts.

PART 3 of 11
The Make Up Of Your Body And How It Functions
As part of this anatomy and physiology "lesson", I am also
mentioning the connection to the aging process and how it
differs from the degenerative process. These are important
issues to learn, to understand, and to apply if you wish to
live a healthy lifestyle. I came across a very interesting
term recently. It said your body is always moving
“lifeward”. That is so true, but it needs the right
ingredients to do that properly. And for that to happen, you
need knowledge.
ANATOMY is the study, classification, and description of
structures and organs of the body.
PHYSIOLOGY is the study and process of the function of the
human. It is the study of the physical and chemical
processes involved in the actions of living organisms and
their component parts. When we talk about anatomy, we often
also discuss the function of it. So take time to understand
the two parts. As you already know, disease doesn't have to
be a part of your life. If you want to either avoid it or
eliminate it, you need to study the true body first and its
functions. Only then can you make a change. Everything else
is guessing and a waste of your time and effort. Just like
counterfeit money, knowing the truth helps you recognize the
"untruth" or false or mistaken actions and beliefs.
As usual, I encourage you to do some more research. Ask
yourself: What if? How can I? Why does it? What do I need to
find out? This is your starting point. Move ahead, with
knowledge and confidence. Until you understand the make up
of your body, you won't be able to figure out its function.

He knew he had to scheme as to how to answer
the emissary from Rome who would surely be sent.
Little did he know the emissary was already in
this country and even as he was thinking about it,
the emissary was on his way to the cardinal's
office.
Rome had known there was something going wrong
with this jurisdiction. They had long experience
with all the signs that gave that indication.
There were excuses in reports. There was no
revenue coming from an area where there was
consistent revenues for years. It didn' t take
Rome long to know something was wrong. Then there
were all those little reports of wrong doing that
kept on plaguing the file.
The church had policemen to take care of these
things. They sent one to Matto Grosso.
The first thing the emissary did was request a
presence with the cardinal. He found a man that
was weak and sickly looking. The mere fact the
emissary was here was enough to make the cardinal
sick. He had no excuse for what has happened and
could not even answer the emissary.
The emissary looked around. He could tell,
just from the cardinal's answers that the man was
being used as a figurehead. He knew the real
decisions were coming from somewhere else.
He summoned all the cardinal's office. There
were civil workers, whom he dismissed immediately,
and there was only one other priest. The answers
were obvious.
The emissary began to ask questions of the
priest. He answered as might be expected. He
blamed the cardinal for the present condition. He
said that he and some of the bishops had tried to
reason with the cardinal but he would not listen.
All this on the first day of the emissary's
visit. He was tired and wanted to go to bed. He
was ushered to a special bedroom used for V.I.P.s.
He knew exactly what the problem was, yet he
did not know exactly where the extent of it
reached. He would query further and look around.
He would move around within the jurisdiction and
see what other trouble spots, if any, he could
find.
In the following days he heard story after
story about the two events where Sam had visited
the church. He went down to the shrine and himself
was blessed by the visit. Upon leaving he saw no
evidence of the churches presence, yet four
priests swore they saw him.
This man was also aware that when things like
this were going on there were usually transfers
having happened in the time before his visit, and
he knew that often men were sent to seminaries
"for their health" in order to get rid of them. He
made a call to every seminary in the area. There
were four of them.
At the one he found the two priests who were
being detained against their will. He got his ears
full from these two. The evidence was
incriminating not only for the cardinal and the
remaining priest, but against these two telling
the story as well. Having been investigating
things like this for the church for many years he
was familiar with the things that happened.
He ordered the immediate release of the men
from the seminary, knowing full well their return
to the cardinal's office would be a complete and
terrible surprise. It was.
The remaining priest did not expect to see
these two released. When they appeared in his
doorway he was immediately terrified. Now what?
The emissary left things alone for a bit, not
interviewing the three offenders. In three days he
went back and began to question in earnest. Taking
the three, individually, he questioned them about
what was happening here in the cardinal's office.
He received answers from each. Some of the answers
were inconsistent with what he got from the
others. Then he called a meeting with all three
men, plus the cardinal.
He began slowly at first. He was calm and
quiet, as if there was nothing wrong. Then he
began to move into areas where the answers were
different. Once the men saw that each had told on
the other they started to accuse each other of
offenses.
The emissary simply looked on. The answers
were now clear to him. He advised that he would
need use of the cardinal's office for the rest of
the day. They were to leave and go to their own
offices. The cardinal could go to his bed and
rest.
The emissary called Rome to advise what he had
found. He discussed with Rome what he thought the
solution should be. Rome agreed.
